You two exited to the balcony. Aomien escorted you to sit down which you did and he followed.

Aomine wanted to confess. He wanted to say something but he didn't know what to approach. After that dance, he had finally realized that his feelings for you was love.

Now the hard part came: explaining. He didn't want to look like a pathetic fool in front of you.

While he was having trouble with his own problems about his feelings, you were busy feeling homesick. Tonight was memorable but another thing you couldn't forget was your home.

Thus, you sighed looking at the stars making Aomine turn his attention towards you.

"Y/N?" He called you.

"Yes?" Your voice never failed to captivate him.

"Are you okay?" He asks worriedly.

You lowered your head and responded honestly, "No.. I'm not.."

Your voice sounded cold and depressed in his ears. Did he fucked up? Where did he go wrong?

"You're.. not happy here with us aren't you?" He nervously asked. His voice was bitter and sounded a bit hurt as well.

The question made you shot your eyes at him, "What? Of course not! It's the complete opposite. I'm super happy to be able to stay and meet with everyone here, including you. It's just that... I miss.. I-I miss my home.. my brother.."

Aomine grabbed your hand and gripped it. He felt guilty.

The Aomine Daiki would usually never care about one's feelings. He would have ignored you but damn, now? He have finally realized and corrected the error of his ways.

He stood up from his seat making you look at him. "Follow me"

"The west wing?" You mumbled.

Aomine opened the door gesturing you to come inside. Of course, you did so and patiently waited at a chair while he grabbed he mirror beside Satsuki.

He made sure not to wake her up. Satsuki was getting weaker and she could only talk to Aomine for at least 30 minutes once in a day.

He then moved towards you and started to explain the mirror.

"This is a magic mirror. It can show you what you want to see.. Try and ask it to show your brothers."

Curious, you took the mirror out of his paw and admired it for a bit.

"I would like to see Tetsuya please.."

The mirror glowed making you squint your eyes. But then it got dimmer showing you an illustration.

The sight you saw scared you. Your brother out in the wilderness by his own. He looked ill and weak. He looked tired and thinner.

You were worried, was your brother hungry? Cold? Tired? Restless?

"Oh no.." You whispered to yourself. In the corner of Aomine's eyes, he saw you worried.

"Dai-Chan! My brother's ill.."

He looked away. He knew what you really wanted to ask and it scared him. He'd leave you again would you?... He was so close...

But then something in his heart made him utter out, "You may go." It sounded forceful and hesitant. He said it and he already felt so much regrets.

You looked at him in confusion.

"You are released... you are no longer my prisoner.." He forced his voice to not croak.

"You mean... I'm free.."

"Yes." He looked down away from your eyes not wanting to let you see his pained look.

You were happy that you were finally given a chance to help your brother.

"Thank you.. very much.." You handed the mirror back but then he gave it away.

"Keep it. So you'll have a way to look back.. and remember me.." Ge gently stroked your hair with his paw.

"I also have something for you to look back and remember me." You mumbled not knowing that it was loud enough for him to hear.

You then added quickly, "Thank you again.. for understanding me Dai-Chan. I promise.. I'll come back someday.." Aomine jolted.

His face softened but then he lowered it down again, because he knew that by the time you'll come back, it will never be the same anymore.

You kissed him a goodbye in the cheek for the first time in years and hurriedly walked away blushing furiously. Aomine also felt his heart skip a beat but was then greeted again with misery and regret.

That kiss meant something and he knew it. Seems like he really was close.. almost..

"Well I see that both of you are getting closer." Midorima finally showed a small and sincere smile.

"Ahh yes yes~ I just knew they had it in them ssu~" Kise added.

"I let her go."

"We know we know-"
"YOU WHAT."

"Wait what?"

Kise looked at him with a pained expression, "B-but."

Midorima then bursted our and ranted everything extravagant and overly exaggerated that Aomine did while Kise teared up, but he was getting none of it.

Akashi then appeared, "Aomine! You better have a good reason for this-" That was the last straw.

"IT'S BECAUSE I LOVE HER YOU IDIOTS."
