𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞. You were wearing a simple white cami top and sage green skirt, with green platform mules.
You furrowed your eyebrows when you saw a box sitting on the coffee table. I lifted a pair of boots up and sighed, showing them to Alex. "'Here's all your stuff back.' What's up with that?" Bos asked, after reading the note that had your three names on it.
"She's gone," Natalie mumbled, looking at the photo of you four at the beach three years ago after the Knox case.
Alex sighed, taking the boots from your hands. "She's not coming back. She loves these boots."
"She doesn't want us to get hurt," you said, picking up an old photo, causing a chuckle to escape your lips. It was a picture of when we all had a sleepover at Nat's house. The blonde was in the side, holding the camera up as Alex was doubled over in laughter, watching as you held the bottom of a wine glass in your mouth, leaning head back, where it poured into Dylan's open mouth, who was sitting behind you.
"Wait a minute. You ladies risk your ass every day," Bosley stated, confused.
"'I'll never forgive myself if anything happens to you guys'" Alex read out, and Natalie shook her head.
"Where do we go from here, Charlie?"
"Natalie, Alex, Y/N, you need to keep your spirits up."
"Any leads on the O'Gradys, Charlie?" you asked.
"Yeah, any word on how Seamus broke out of prison?" Natalie added.
"He didn't break out, Natalie. He was released."
"What?" you all questioned.
"Who would have the power to pull something like that off?" wondered Nat.
"Johnnie Cochran," Bos said, pointing at her. You shook your head at his reply.
"The Justice Department, the D.A.'s office, the FBI..." Alex listed.
"U.S. Marshal," you included.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and Bosley checked his watch. "That's Carter."
Bosley placed the two titanium rings in a small silver briefcase. "I never gave rings to a guy before," he said as he shook Ray's hand.
"The rings are secure, sir," Carter reported, looking to the screen where Rixon was.
"And we can all breathe a little easier," he smiled.
"Well done, angels."
You and the girls thanked Charlie as Ray walked over, causing you all to stand up as he went to shake each of your hands. "HALO is safe, thanks to you. It's been a pleasure. I hope to work with you ladies again... but not too soon." You chuckled, Alex and Nat grinning.
"Good luck with everything," Alex wished.
As Ray went to leave the office, Bosley intervened, holding up a pair of keys. "Oh, oh, your keys." Ray lifted his arm up and caught it, and immediately, your forehead creased in slight confusion. He glanced over at you, before throwing them back to Bosley.
"These aren't mine," he shrugged off, before walking out the door.
"That was a nice reach for a guy with a couple fractured ribs," you muttered.
"Good going, Bos," Alex said, staring at the doorway. "We got him."
"We got who?" he asked.
"Of course. He already had one ring. He needed the other," Nat revealed.
"He wanted to fake his own death, so he wouldn't be a suspect," you determined.
"I'm serious. Who y'all talking about?" Bosley took a seat, glancing at each of you.
"He needed time for his plan, so he set up Seamus," Nat said.
"And then turned him loose on Dylan," Alex gasped.
"I think you're onto something, angels."
"DAMN!" Bosley yelled, causing you to jump. "So, Carter's the bad guy."
"It's just speculation at this point, Bosley. We need proof."
"Keys, Bosley." You stood up, holding your hand out, and he complied, dropping them in your hand as the girls stood with you.
"Let's hit it," Alex muttered.
"That punk," Bosley spat.
You were sitting next to Nat in the red car. You watched from behind your sleek black sunglasses as Alex sped down the road in front of you on the little board. "Road's clear, you're good to move in," you said into the earpiece.
"Almost there," she replied in a shaky voice.
"Incoming!" You warned as you spotted a car driving forward. Alex dodged in time, and you let out a relieved sigh. She pressed the suction cup that was connected to the board to the car, and you smiled, "Good job, Alex."
"I got the phone line," she said after a moment.
You heard a bit of static before Ray's voice came through. "My end of the deal's done. The angels are off the case. I have the rings."
"Dylan," Nat sighed. From your spot in the car, you saw some rocks on the road, and whenever the wheels of Ray's car rolled over them, they flew through the air. You called Alex's name as some nearly came in contact with her face.
"Call buyer one."
"Are you okay?" you asked Alex through the comms.
"Y/N, the handle's broken. I can't disengage," her worried voice came through.
"The deal's on. 8:00, just as we discussed," you heard Ray's voice, and you mentally jotted the time down.
"Y/N, plan B!" Alex yelled.
"I'm calling in Bosley. We'll get you out of there, Alex. Hang tight," you reassured.
"Follow the stars beyond the galaxy. Take shore to hope. Stop on a stair-. "
"A stair?" you wondered, listening in on Ray's conversation.
"Find a man with a map."
"Bosley, can you hear me? Bosley, we're going to Bravo configuration immediately."
He responded, stuttering before he came into view, a couple of school kids next to him. You saw him hold up the red stop sign, and Ray hit the brakes just in time. You could see Bos shaking, before hearing him mutter, "Get on out of here. Come on. Get on out of here."
Nat stopped the car as Bos let out a sigh. Alex stood up from her spot, lifting the helmet off and letting her long black hair out. "Great job, Bos," she praised.
"Way to go," Nat praised.
"Proud angel moment," you said, winking at him, and he smiled with a breath. Alex climbed in next to you as you slid into the middle. "Carter's working with a partner. They're selling off the list later tonight."
"We'll take care of them. Then find Dylan," Alex said, and you nodded in confirmation, before pushing your glasses down to look at Bosley.
"See ya Bos."
You hid behind the large white statue with Nat and Alex, wearing a cream and red tee, flared black pants, and off-white platform mules.
You followed Ray up towards the roof, peaking over, finding him looking up at one of the observation orbs. "The buyers are set. We did it, partner!" he yelled, lifting his arms up in victory. The sphere started moving and you saw the glint of a golden gun before shots rang in the air. You watched as Ray staggered back, bullet holes through his chest and blood seeping through his white button up.
You and the angels ran out of our hiding spot, in time to see Madison Lee standing there, with two gold guns. "You know, I never really got that whole partner thing," she said, then turned around and backflipped from the platform, landing and placing her hands behind her back. "Hello angels."
"Madison Lee," Nat breathed, shaking her head.
"Why?" Alex questioned.
"Why be an angel when I can play God?" she said simply. "Looks like one of the four amigos has gone adios." You bit back a smile when you discovered Dylan behind her, who lifted her leg to kick at her. But Madison grabbed it, throwing Dylan over her shoulder, the red-head crashing against the hard railing. "Hola." She quickly stood, taking your hand to help her stand. "Welcome back, Dylan. You're such a typical rebellious Pisces. Always out to prove how tough and independent you are, and you couldn't even make it one day on your own, could you?"
"Someone reminded me that every angel is unique... and I knew it was you," Dylan said.
"Who else has contacts in Mongolia, could hack the HALO fail-safe, and hire a surfer as an assassin?" Alex wondered knowingly.
"The same astrological phenom who would refer to the same motocross rider with a lion on his helmet as 'Leo'," you hissed.
Madison clapped slow, condescending. "Very well done. Very impressive, really. You've got it all figured out, and now I'm gonna really enjoy knocking those halos right off your heads."
"But you're an angel," Dylan mumbled.
"No. You just don't get it. I don't take orders from a speaker box anymore. I work for myself," Madison snapped.
"Well, your boss sucks," Natalie retorted, and you and the angels posed, striking your hands, ready to fight.
"Ah-hah. The angels' ass-kicking pose. I have to admit, seeing the four of you like that does give me this little twinge of nostalgia for the old days, but back then, it was a little bit different. You see, when I was an angel..." Natalie pulled the guns out, aiming them at you. "We used guns."
You and the girls leaped up, ready to avoid the bullets, but once again, you had underestimated the ex-angel. She knew your movements and readily aimed the guns. She shot Dylan, soon followed by Alex. Then Natalie. And then you.
