HAILEY WAS DUMBFOUNDED she couldn't register so many things happening at once, but the only thing she could focus on was the girl with crimson red hair who chanted apologies to her - apologies she was too occupied to listen.

"I'm so sorry I didn't realize I -" The girl said, helping Hailey stand on her feet.

"It's alright," Hailey muttered, still unable to divert her eyes from the girl's face. Her lips started to quiver just like her whole body -it took her a second to register that it was due to the cold liquid drenching her sweatshirt.

"Fuck, you're shivering," the red-haired girl gasped as she turned to Levi, who was shaking his head and cleaning up the mess they made. "Where's the ladies' room?"

He annoyedly flickered his thumb to the right side to the wooden door with the sign. She nodded and took Hailey to the empty restroom - the girl looked for something, probably a heater but sighed as she found none in the room.

Hailey stood quiet as she stole glances of the girl - she wore a black dress that barely reached her knees along with a half-zipped hoodie, she was too underdressed for the weather like this. Her red hair was straight and reached just below her ears, she didn't have any kind of makeup on her dark brown skin.

God, isn't she beautiful?

"Here, try to dry yourself." she gestured to Hailey, handing her the roll of toilet paper.

Hailey nodded as she could feel a tingling sensation run within her blood due to cold - making her whole body shiver.

The girl bit her nails, looking down at the drenched sweatshirt and how Hailey's lips trembled. Her panicky eyes wandered all over the room, possibly thinking of anything to everything.

"Hurry up, you'll catch a horrible cold or worse hypothermia - which can cause your heart, nervous system, and other organs to enter a state of shock, putting you at risk of a heart attack, respiratory system failure, and possibly death-"

"Hey, hey... slow down." Hailey breathed and raised her hands in an attempt to make her calm. The girl gave her a guilty-lipped smile, probably thinking of how she spoke too much.

"You can clean up, I'll be outside." she sighed, looking down at the floor before walking towards the door. She paused before opening the door and turned back, returning to Hailey.

"Wear my hoodie, you'll feel warm," she flashed, removing the black jacket in an instant and rested it on the counter, she left the room before Hailey could say anything opposing the idea.

The thought of wearing a stranger's hoodie seemed very stupid and irrational. But sounds better than freezing to death, her subconscious taunted.

Better be safe than sorry, she thought and sighed - clenching the cotton material in her hand before wearing it over her sweatshirt.

She turned her gaze to the mirror and slowly smiled at how good she looked in the hoodie, it was very rare of her to like a cloth fitting on her. She ran her fingers down the material which reached down almost to her thighs - being comparatively short in height it seemed oversized on her.

She took a deep breath and strode out of the restroom, the minute she entered the café she felt two eyes gazing at her - Levi and the red head's.

She focused down at her feet as she walked to the table where the girl was sitting. The café was now starting to fill with people as slowly the sun came right above the head, giving a breath of relief from the cold.

"It looks good on you," she said, gleaming and eyeing Hailey head to toe - making an electric current sensation run down her spine.

"I ordered you a hot chocolate. You'll feel good," The girl said, passing the tall glass brimming with dark liquid towards Hailey.

Hailey smiled shyly and took a seat next to her when she spoke, "I'm Hailey."

"Oh shoot, totally missed the introductions." she chuckled smacking her lips. "Aelia - the new student."

What a beautiful name, I wonder what its meaning.

Her name occupied every corner of Hailey's mind, she had this urge to want to know everything about her right this instant - like she was a beautiful painting, hiding a story.

"Shall we start with the project?"

Aeila suddenly looked up from the binder she was opening and noticed Hailey staring. Their eyes met. She smiled, hinting at a bit of confusion in it.

Hailey looked away immediately, realizing she was mindlessly staring at her. Her heart was pounding which she didn't even take notice of.

She felt a bit ashamed for behaving in such a way, she couldn't understand why she was feeling this way for a girl all of a sudden - she literally just met her.

She bit her lips which were painted dark pink, a very similar shade that covered her cheeks as she nodded, concentrating back on the project in hand.

Time flew faster than the wind outside as it was already noon outside. The café was back to empty as Levi approached their table keeping the check of their snacks and drinks, giving an unsubtle reminder on how they've exceeded their welcome here.

"Why were you even drinking iced tea in such a miserable cold," Hailey chuckled, packing her stuff as they got up from the small table.

"You call this miserable? It's nothing compared to Alaska - where I'm from."

"Alaska..." Hailey mumbled smiling, getting up and walking beside Aeila as she opened the door. "That place is breathtaking."

"It is if it weren't for my dad's job - we wouldn't have ever left."

"Sounds horrible - to leave everything behind," Hailey said,

"Not really, when you don't have anything to leave." Aeila looked down at the ground as Hailey could sense her voice breaking, so she immediately changed the subject, returning the hoodie and thanking her.

"No, that's fine. Hope you're feeling okay now..." she raised her eyebrows, little did she knew Hailey felt quite opposite to cold because of her standing so near.

"My ex-girlfriend had a somewhat similar situation when-" She suddenly stopped talking, probably thinking she speaks too much but oblivious to the fact that Hailey didn't minded - she needed someone who could talk to her.

The fact she had girlfriends gave a foreign excitement to her stomach, making her heart swell thinking about numerous scenarios.

Aeila glanced at the clock of her phone before speaking, "I need some directions,"

To my heart?
