Chapter 3 - The Only Way

Poppy's POV

Days have passed since the incident happened and what's worse, more Trolls are getting weak right now. They don't have energy anymore and they can't move much. I need to fix this. I have responsibility for my people.

"Queen Poppy, my son is still weak. What shall we do?" The mother of the sick kid said.

"Um..uhh... Don't worry, we...we can figure things out. Your son will be okay." I said.

"Thank you Queen Poppy." She answered.

After checking the weak ones, I went inside my pod to rest when suddenly, Branch peeked at my window.

"Um, Poppy?" He said while doing a pose.

"Ahh! Oh, it's just you. Heheh..." I said. He looked so funny!

"Can you come with me to my bunker? Help me to get some of the things I left there."

"Okay." I answered.

We went inside his bunker and we were getting some of his stuffs.

"Oh. Wait for me Poppy. I just forgot something in my pod." Branch said as he quickly went into his elevator.

"Okay." I answered.

As Branch was still out, I look around in his old bunker and just saw two little curtains. Hmm... I wonder what's inside.

Because of my curiosity, I opened the curtains without hesitation and saw all of the invitations I gave him, all fixed and was like it was never touched.

"Aww..Branch." I blushed. But I quickly close the curtains when I heard Branch's footsteps.

"Oh h...hey Poppy!" He said and quickly went to the curtains.

"Umm..."

"By the way, I brought a bag so we can carry the things easily." He said as he was showing his bag.

"Oh great!" I smiled.

We continued on getting his things without telling him about the invitations.

Dad called us for a meeting.

"Poppy, I think I know what's the cure." Dad said.

"What is it dad?" I asked.

"The Magical Poppies. If you drink their extract, you will be healed or gain your normal strength."

"Wait whaa? Me? Magical me?" I giggled.

"Uhh.. No I mean, magical 'poppy' flower."

"Ohh. Where is it?" I asked again.

"It's so far away, Poppy. It is located at the top of one of the dangerous mountains called The Shadowed Mountains. They're very dark, steep and full of mysterious creatures... Good thing you only need one flower to heal many people." Dad said.

"Wait, which of the mountains has the magical flower?" I asked.

"Sadly, I don't remember it anymore and I don't know where I have kept my map."

"Who do you think has a map to The Shadowed Mountains?"

"Maybe King Gristle has a map." Dad answered.

"Well then, let's get it!" I said while looking at my friends.

"No, Poppy. It's too dangerous."

"Yes, Poppy. Your dad is right." Creek said as he went near me and patted my arm.

I heard Branch groaned and pulled Creek away from me.

"Please dad. I can do this. It's my responsibility as Queen."

Dad sighed and said, "Okay. But you have to be careful."

"Okay dad."

We went to King Gristle and asked if he had the map to The Shadowed Mountains.

"Aww... You can't go to our party tonight? That's sad!" Bridget said.

"What happened to the other Trolls?" King Gristle asked.

"Everyday, more Trolls are getting weak and the Magical Poppy is the only way to cure them." Branch explained.

"Wait wait, Poppy?" Bridget asked.

"Um. They're flowers. Poppies. They're many of them. But we just need one to heal all of them." I answered.

"Oh. By the way, I have a map to that mountain! It's in one of my books." Gristle said.

King Gristle went to his library and went out, carrying a book. He opened it and showed the map.

"This is the map, Poppy. You need it?" He asked.

"Yeah but..."

Gristle immediately teared the page and gave it to me.

"Uh y...your book."

"That's fine. I don't read books." He answered.

"Thank you, King Gristle. But this paper is too big for me." I giggled.

"Oh yeah! You only need this part of the map." He said as he points at the part of the paper that has the mountains and the Troll Village. He teared that part and gave it to me.

"Thanks again, King Gristle. We have to go now."

"Bye!!" Gristle and Bridget waved goodbye and we went back to the village.

~~🌸~~

"Yes. This is it." Dad said as I showed the map King Gristle gave me.

"We have to go, Dad. Before everyone gets affected." I said as I looked by the weak Trolls. Poor them. I wish we could get the flower immediately for them to be okay.

"I'll go with you." Branch said.

"I'll go too." Creek said. And I heard Branch groan again.

"We'll go with you too, Poppy!" The whole Snack Pack said.

"Okay. But you have to be careful." Dad said.

"Yes dad." I answered and hugged him.

"You..." Dad pointed to Branch.

"Uhh, M...me?"

"Yes. You Branch. Please take care of my daughter." I blushed on what dad said.

Branch's POV

"Please take care of my daughter." King Peppy said. I looked at Poppy and saw her giving a beautiful smile.

"Yes. I will." I answered and smiled.

"Well, let's go then?" Poppy said. "Bye dad!"

"Goodbye." King Peppy and all of the Trolls waved goodbye.

We ran and we ran until the Troll Village was nowhere to be seen.

We paused for a moment when we realized that we are now miles away from home.

"Whoo! I'm so tired..." I sat down for a moment to give myself a rest.

"Me too..." DJ Suki added. Everyone was so tired and wished to go back again.

"C'mon I know you can still do it!" Poppy said, even if she looks exhausted.

"Yeah. You guys are so weak." Creek teased.

"Shut up, Creek!" I said to him.

"C'mon guys! I know we can do it." Poppy said and began to sing...

Poppy: I can almost see it.
That dream I'm dreaming,
But there's a voice inside my head saying,
"You'll never reach it."
Every step I'm takin'
Every move I make feels lost with no direction,
My faith is shakin'

But I, I gotta keep tryin'
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb

Branch: The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down,
But no, I'm not breaking

Poppy: I may not know it,
But these are the moments
That I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep goin',

And I, I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, 'cause... ♪

Poppy and I started to dance together.

"Let's go!" We all ran and continued our journey to get the Magical Poppy.
