100 years ago, four travelers escaped their corrupt kingdom, hoping for a better life. These founders, Antoine Roguefort, Navia Washburne, Ezekiel Wood, and Ferris Rhinehart. These four, along with their families, uprooted their lives and came to create Traversfield, so that future descendants will remember that this community was made possible by the ambitions of 4 travelers who fought for a better future. Since then, the community has grown. The once small one room cabins have become large homes able to fit generations inside. The community has stayed humble, remembering their roots, and yet they still grow and adapt, making a town full of love, acceptance, and community.

Ancestors of Navia Washburne

Navia Washburne was remembered as an elegant woman with strong morals. Even after moving out of the kingdom and into Traversfield, she kept these traits of hers. She was an enjoyer of the finest things in life, with an interest in high fashion and aristocratic drama and gossip. She brought with her bundles of fabric and cloth, and set up the first tailor shop of Traversfield, where she would begin sewing clothing for her fellow travelers, their children, and the generations to come. From winter coats to wedding dresses, everything that was worn for those first 50 years was a Washburne original, and after her passing, those traditions were passed on to her children, and her children's children. A family of tailors, keeping the community well dressed and elegant, just as Navia would have wanted. 

Ancestors of Ferris Rhinehart

Ferris was a traveling bard who wanted to share their music with the world. So, when the kingdom tried to recruit them to create propaganda and war songs to try and boost public morale, Ferris knew they wanted out. Music was something that they used to show how they felt, it came directly from the heart. Being told what to create just wouldn't do, and so they packed up their lute and left with the travelers to create a new home, where they could make music freely. The other travelers will often mention how, during the journey, Ferris would create road songs. Singing little tunes during the walk, and on rare occasions, the others would join in. Ferris always created a positive environment where ever they went, and when all seemed lost and all hope was gone, Ferris was there to lighten the mood. They were a lover of many, a casanova that many men and women alike in the kingdom were told to stay clear of. However, in the end, Ferris had one person they loved above all else, and 2 years after the founding of Traverfield, Ferris left to sneak back into the kingdom and find their lover, and took him back home with them, where they would be married and live together.

Ancestors of Ezekiel Wood

Ezekiel Wood was once a royal knight of the kingdom, swearing on their life to protect the royal family no matter what. However, after having to watch his friends time and time again be sent to their deaths, forced to fight unwinable battles because of the kings own ego and refusal to back out of impossible wars, Ezekiel knew that he could no longer live in a place like this.  So, when he overheard Antoine Roguefort speaking to Ferris and Navia about their plans to leave the kingdom and create a place for themselves, Ezekiel was quick to interject and ask to join the trio, stating that they needed someone to protect them, as the woods were a dangerous place. Ezekiel left with his pregnant wife, 2 year old daughter, and his sword. He swore himself to protect his fellow travelers, and once they arrived in what would become their new home, he swore to protect the people of Traversfield until his death, and when that happens, his children would protect the town, and then his children's children. Forever, the Wood family would keep the town safe, no matter what. 

Ancestors of Antoine Roguefort

Antione is credited as the one who started it all, the leader of the gang, the one who lead the way, holding out the lantern in the dark and lighting the path to freedom for his fellow travelers. Once a journalist for the Kingdom's newspaper, Antoine was put in jail often for attempting to speak out on the injustice he witnessed, from corrupt knights to an ever increasing poor population, while the royal family just sat upon their golden thrones and got richer and richer with every passing moment. Antione couldn't stand for this any longer, and knew that he needed to get out. The idea of bringing life to this world, having children who would have to grow up in a place such as this, felt like a selfish deed that he could never forgive. He soon met with two of his closest friends and the three created a plan to escape, to leave this place and create a home of their own, a safe haven for people like them who want to live in a place of freedom and equality. The trio became a group of four when a former knight joined their journey, and they set off to find a home of their own. When Traversfield was founded, Antione did all he could to assist. He went on journey after journey back to the kingdom to find more people who wanted to escape, and protected them as he escorted the refugees back to their village. He made sure the first thing to be build was a town hall, where anyone to go and give any ideas they had to improve Traversfield. He was once asked if he would lead the community, become a mayor who would rule over the people, but he declined. Traversfield, he said, was a place for the people.  And having a hierarchy would go against all that he stood for. Instead, he opted for a council, where he and the three other founders would come together make decisions for the betterment of the town, and would keep one another in balance. Today, Antoine is remembered as the hero of Traversfield, and the reason why the village is the way that it is today.

OCCUPATIONS

Sheriff [0/1] the main protector of the town, they fight to make sure the laws are enforced and everyone stays safe. In charge of the prisons, and is the commander to the town knights. 

Knights [1/3] under the command of the sheriff, the town knights swear to protect the townspeople of Traversfield. The founder Ezekiel Wood is often viewed as a hero for the knights, and many look up to him.

Doctor [0/1] keeps the people of Traversfield healthy and safe, from small ailments to large injuries. Up until this point, they haven't had to deal with anything larger than small wounds from the knights of the occasional sick child. But nothing ever stays the same for long. 

Town Council Member [1/4] when the town was founded, a council of 4 members of any age, race or gender was created. These people would be appointed by the citizens of town, and would help create laws or make tough decisions for the betterment of the townsfolk. 

Guide [1/2] The Kingdom still exists, a hundred years later, and within it are still people inside who are being subjected to cruel laws and inhumane punishments. Guides are specially selected individuals who will go on journeys to these kingdoms, and guide anyone who wishes back to the safety of Traversfield, lighting the way just as the founder Antoine Roguefort once did. 

Farmer/Butcher [0/?]  The sustainers of the community, the farmers  and butchers of Traversfield are regarded as some of the most important members of the community, due to their control of the food the community eats. Weekly farmers markets are held in the town square for farmers to sell their goods and for townsfolk to support agriculturalists.

Musician [0/?] following in the footsteps of founder Ferris Rhinehart, musicians are what bring light and joy to the community. From the small fiddle band outside of the local market, to the tavern bards who sing for a date, musicians create the soundtrack of life in Traversfield, and one cannot imagine life in the town without them.

Tailor [0/?] despite what many believe, the descendants of Navia Washburne aren't the only tailors in the community. After her, many chose to pick up the craft, and now there is a bustling community of  tailors. From suits for business to princess and prince costumes for the children to play in, there is always a need for clothing. And with that, there is always a need for tailors. 

Teacher [1/?] as generations came and left and children began to spring up in the town, it became suddenly aware to the adults that there wasn't anyone to educate these new generations. the first school was built only three months after the towns founding, and since then teachers have been some of the most praised and loved people in the community. Among the math and literature they teach, teachers are also expected to educate students on the history of Traversfield, and how it became what it is today. 

Writer [0/?] from short stories to newspaper articles, writers help keep the people of traversfield educated and entertained. Writers and Journalists are often escorted by guides back to the kingdom so that they might either sell their works, get novels bounded, or write about what the current politics of the kingdom is to keep the people of Traversfield informed. 

Other [0/?] There is a large community in Traversfield, and because of that, there are an abundance of occuptions. From artists, to bartenders, to even just young students who are spending their time focusing on their studies. In Traversfield, children are told at a young age that they can become whatever their heart wants.

Authors Note:

I decided to put my ocs in this chapter too! I got excited haha. This was also like, longer than the essay I have for class so that is, embarrassing. Anyways, with the roles I bet you all are wondering "I thought this was a murder mystery? Where is the murder role?" Well, allow me to explain. The murderer will be chosen at random by me, and you all won't find out until it is revealed in the story. There will be interactive bits where readers can vote people guilty, accuse who they think is the murderer, question people, etc etc. Not even the owner of the oc will know if they are the murderer or not! So it will really be a surprise for everybody involved! I hope this makes sense to anyone! If you have any questions, ask them here and I will do my best to answer them!
