In all honesty, I didn't know what to do. I felt like everything was slowly closing in on me and as if I was going to burst out at any moment. 'We're just having a free period for gym next class so maybe I can just try to clear my mind.' I thought. 'Maybe...'

Gym

Peter's POV

After Lunch, Me, Ned and Michelle headed to gym. We didn't see Y/n anywhere until we were all dressed in our gym uniforms and out in the gymnasium. She had her phone with earphones in hand and was talking to the teacher. Everyone had already pretty much dispersed and started having fun. Liz was sitting with her little group like usual, chatting about basically anything that came into mind.

Me and Ned saw Y/n give a nod to the teacher and place her earphones in. She then had something on her arm to hold her phone in. It almost looked like little pouch but to place your device in so it doesn't fall or move around while you exercise. That's when we started to see her jog around the gym.

"Want to walk around and just chat?" Ned asked me after he saw what she did and looked over back to me.

"Yeah, sure." I mentioned then started to walk with him next to me. "It's strange how at one moment she's okay then the next it's like if she was worried something might happen."

"Well I'm not sure. Maybe she is. You did tell me that she gave you a paper with information. So maybe she's afraid of what might happen."

"But Ned.. that happened yesterday, and Jeanie was outside in the hallway talking to her before she actually came back in." I replied and he nodded his head thinking. We were then stopped when Liz asked if Spider-Man was still coming tonight to the party she was having.

That's when Flash decided to come in and say "Come on. He'll be there. Right Parker?" And I just made a face not knowing if I should really go but I also didn't want to disappoint anyone by not showing up.

Y/n's POV

I was listening to music minding my own business and trying to clear my mind when I glanced over to see Ned and Peter walking around. I looked towards the corner of the bleachers and saw Mj reading the book I gave her. Then I looked towards the middle of the bleachers as I jogged and noticed the same group sitting around Liz. She was right in the middle.

I lightly rolled my eyes as I turned the corner and continued on. Peter was stopped ahead of me and I saw Flash pass by him as Liz and her group looked at them. I was so close to passing right by them until I was stopped by someone grabbing my arm again.

This time when I looked behind my shoulder to see who it was, it was Flash. 'Ew' I said in my head. Pulling out my left earphone from my ear and turning to face them, I saw Flash give a smile and I made a face at him to make him stop.

"Shadow's coming tonight right?" Liz asked and that's when I glanced over at Peter to see his reaction, figuring that he got asked the same question but with Spider-Man. I just bluntly said "Yeah. I'll see what I can do. If she's unable to then I'll let you guys know." Then I placed my earphone back on, turned back around and started to jog again.

They were quiet for a bit but then Peter nodded his head "y-yeah. I can check on Spider-Man too. He's a pretty b-busy person." Was what he said.

I stopped jogging for a while because I was out of breath and needed to get a drink of water. I headed out to the hallway after asking the coach and started my way off to the water fountain. My music was on pause and I walked up to the fountain. As I pushed the button and drank a sip, my thoughts clouded my mind again.

'What if she tells him anyways and he comes to the school looking for me?'

'I can't exactly stay away from Spider-Man if he's actually Peter and he's just going to keep following me until I spill and tell him what's wrong.'

'God.. I thought everything was going to well'

I finished and leaned against the wall next to me with my eyes shut. Letting out a big sigh and sliding down against the wall to the floor. A tear slid down my cheek when I remembered the last time I was with my uncle. It was horrible. He treated me good at one moment then the next I was locked in a cold dark bare room. Me made me believe that he wasn't going to hurt me but that was a lie.

Footsteps... I heard footsteps but drowned them out as I got lost in my thoughts and closed my eyes again; taking a deep breath.

"Y/n?" I heard and I could already tell it was Peter's voice. Quickly wiping my tears, I stood up and looked at him.

"Yeah?" I said and could tell by is facial features that he was concerned and worried.

"I know I might be asking you again and I know you probably don't want to hear it again but.. are you alright?" His brown chocolate eyes met mine.

"Yeah I'm okay. Thank you. Just... thinking." Sniffles could be heard from me and I tried giving him a fake smile.

"I saw you going to the hallway with Jeanie and I just wanted to make sure." He said and I looked at him with a bit of a shocked looked but shrugged it off.

"I'm fine. Don't worry Peter."

He took me by surprise when he reached over and gave me a hug. My breath hitched and I froze for a second before giving one in return. Then that's when he said in a low tone "if there's anything bothering you.. just know that I'm here. And if there's anything you want to talk about."

I gave him a tight hug before pulling away and nodding my head. "Thank you again Peter."

"Also.. if you can't physically tell me because you're afraid of something happening then give me a sign. Anything." He mentioned and the coach came out of the gym doors telling us to return back to class.
