rriiinngggg!
you let out a groan of aggravation upon waking up to your phone ringing,
'didn't kita-san say he'd tell atsumu to leave me alone today?'
you groggily sat up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. taking the device that laid restlessly on the bedside table, your eyes followed the caller's display name.
"akinori?"
you quickly answered his call, only to be met with a booming voice,
"oh! y/n-chan!"
the voice did not belong to akinori, nor was it close, if you were to guess who it was...
"haruki?"
"the one and only!" you could almost hear the bright smile through his words,
"why are you calling me?" you questioned, eyes turning to your hotel room's clock, which hung on the wall opposite of where your bed was, "it's... 2 pm?"
'was i that tired?'
"yep!"
"wait, haruki, how are you talking to me right now, with aki-chan's phone?"
"took his phone during lunch, his passcode's too predictable," he chuckled, "and i have a free period right now, i'm in the gym."
"i see," you replied, falling back into the pillows, snuggling further into the blankets, "how's the team going so far? i miss everyone,"
"yuki and kaori have been handling the whole team pretty well,"
"are you saying i'm not needed?"
"no, i'm not!"
"what about the boys? how are they?"
"well, the team's doing okay, but... konoha's been a little off lately,"
"akinori?"
"yeah, i heard from his classmate that he's been taking restroom breaks pretty frequently, during classes and practice, i guess he misses you. the two of you are always together, so it's probably difficult for him to get used to,"
you frowned,
"it's barely been two days,"
"i know," komi sighed, "do you know why he's acting like this?"
"no, i don't" you let out a deep exhale, "i'll make sure to check on him after school ends."
"what about you, y/n-chan? how's hyogo?"
"well, hyogo..."
your mind wandered to the previous day, all at once remembering shinsuke's actions, a delicate red dusting your cheeks.
"i look forward to meeting you again, l/n-san."
"it's going very well, h-haruki," you gulped,
"oh, is that so, y-y/n-chan?" komi teased, copying your sudden stutter, "what's going on, is it a boy?"
"no, yes, kinda,"
"oyaa? who is it?" he cheekily uttered, "let me guess, it is someone from inarizaki?"
"it is, how'd you know?"
"meh, just my intuition," he lazily replied, "is it that miya atsumu dude? or his twin?"
"what? no! it's-" you cupped your mouth before you could spit his name out, sighing in relief, "some... dude."
"whooo?" he whined,
though it wasn't noticeable to you, the boy had been faking an act. he wanted to confirm whether or not what konoha said was true, that you only saw him as a friend.
this- your reaction, and a conversation with the two other managers verified everything. he knew who you were talking about, he knew you had some kind of attraction towards kita shinsuke.
'poor konaha,' he thought,
"it's nothing important, haruki," you spoke, running your free hand through your h/c locks, "i'll go take a shower, you should give akinori his phone back, tell him to call me when he can."
"aw, what?" the boy exclaimed, pouting, "i was hoping we could chat a 'lil more, but okay,"
"sorry, i promise i'll call you later, it's not like i'm super busy, anyway."
"okay, that's a promise!"
"yep, it is,"
"talk to you later, y/n-chan!"
"same here, haruki,"
you hung up, placing your phone back on the bedside table. still half asleep, you threw the blankets off of your frame, the cool air of the air conditioning uncomfortably hitting your skin as you picked out a new outfit.
'i'm not going anywhere, a hoodie should be alright,'
you rummaged through your wardrobe, eyes settling on a familiar baby blue hoodie. your eyes scanned the item, hands gently fondling the cushiony fabric.
it was akinori's hoodie, which you possibly packed by mistake. you took a whiff of the well-known vanilla scent that radiated off of the soft clothing.
'yeah, that'll do.'
you took out your undergarments, along with a pair of pants. walking to the bathroom, you locked the door, settling your outfit on the sink counter.
you stepped into the shower after undressing, the warm water slapping your drowsiness away. whilst shampooing your hair, you reflected on the previous day's occurrences, closing your eyes while doing so.
'let's see...
atsumu turned out to be louder than i had expected, osamu turned out to be a replica of his brother when there's food around,
some kid walked up to me because i'm 'in for a surprise'?
ojiro-san has an aura that can make everyone feel at ease, he's a pretty cool person,
and...
kita-san...
oh my god, that boy.'
you hurriedly opened your eyes, only to be met with a stinging sensation,
"ow!"
'damn it, i got shampoo in my eye.
...i blame kita,'
following up your chaotic shower, you laid on your bed, once again being wrapped in an endless sea of blankets.
"hmm... what should i do today..." you muttered to yourself, staring at the ceiling in a daze. "i don't really wanna go anywhere..."
'but it's not every day where you get to take a whole week off of school, i have to make the best of this trip.'
you let out a deep sigh, tightening your grip on the covers.
'i miss tokyo already,'
knock, knock, knock,
the sounds of knocking pulled you out of your trance, glancing at the hotel's door. you quietly let out a groan of annoyance,
'i sure am a busy woman...'
"...who am i kidding, i'm a jobless bitch." you murmured, sitting up and walking towards the door.
you opened the door, eyes lazily staring at the person in front of you,
"mom, hi," you spoke indolently, walking back to plop on your bed, now laying on your stomach,
"hi, honey!" her cheerful voice bounced off the walls as she stepped in, shutting the door behind her. placing her belongings on a nearby chair, she walked up to your slumped figure, gently placing her hand on your head, "you seem pretty tired, did something happen?"
"remember when i told you tobio introduced me to some new friends?"
"mhm,"
"let's just say this one person happened to be quite a lot to handle," you rolled onto your back, looking at your mother with tired eyes as you spoke, "i ended up going home later than i had intended, but thankfully someone offered to walk me here,"
"ah, really?" your mom eyed you, sitting on the edge of the bed, "nothing bad happened, right?"
"no, not at all," you replied, "the boy who walked me back was polite, he kept making sure i was comfortable. his friend was nice, too, when someone bumped into me while i was walking to their school, he offered to have someone take me to the infirmary."
"really? they seem like good boys,"
"they are," you smiled to yourself, somehow, just the thought of your new friends made you happy,
'they left pretty good first impressions, huh?'
"i'm glad you're having a good time here, kid," she grinned, pinching your cheek.
"yeah," you sat up, facing her, "what are you doing in my room anyway?"
"oh, right!" she exclaimed, standing up to take a large paper bag that she had previously placed on a chair. she handed the bag to you, "i happened to find a small bakery across from here, so i stopped by, and i figured you'd want 'em."
your eyes curiously examined the bag, taking a peek inside, "cake pops?"
"yep! feel free to share them with your friends if you want,"
"alright, thanks,"
"no problem, kid, the owner's a sweet person, you should join me next time i stop by."
"i will, mom," you smiled at her, fidgeting with the bag handles,
"well," your mother began, regathering her purse while walking towards the door, "i'll be going now, i have a presentation soon,"
placing her hand on the door's handles, she gave you another look,
"be careful, it's unsafe to be alone all the time. meet up with your friends if you need to, just make sure you have someone with you." her grip on the door tightened,ย
"i know, mom," you nodded, smiling at her,
"good," she let out a breath of relief, "right, then, see you later, kid," she quickly slipped out of the room shortly after, the faint sounds of footsteps turning smaller as she walked away,
you glanced at the clock, and back to the neatly packed bag of cake pops,
"it's already past 3... i should give these to the team,"
you glanced at your current outfit,
'should i change?
...nah, it's pretty comfortable.'
placing the bag on your lap, you reached for your phone,

you took a deep breath, standing up to grab a pair of socks from your opened luggage. you quickly got ahold of your bag, which had been laying next to the bed, slipping your phone inside whilst also seizing the bag from the bakery.
slipping on your socks and shoes, you stepped out of the room, making your way past numerous doors, and eventually, reaching the elevator.
you stepped into the metal box, pressing the lobby's button.
something seemed a bit off at that moment, you felt like something was missing, but you couldn't put your finger on it.
'did i forget something?
i don't think so...'
you chose to ignore it regardless, stepping out of the elevator once it opened.
pacing out the hotel's entrance, you began walking the same route you took yesterday. just as your mother had said, the bakery was just across the hotel's building. it was exceptionally small, but the outdoor seats made up for it.
the atmosphere seemed calmer than it had been the day before, with fewer businessmen and women hurriedly walking to their offices, the sidewalk was mainly occupied with middle schoolers who had just finished school, several walking in groups.
with your bag slung on your shoulder, and a hand clutching the rather large bag of sweets, your feet carried you to the grounds of inarizaki high school, arriving almost in no time.
like yesterday, you quickly took out your phone with your free hand, dialing atsumu's number. following a few rings, he picked up,
"y/n-chan!"
"i'm here,"
"roger that! i'll be there soon,"
not long after, you heard footsteps nearing your direction, assuming it was atsumu, you greeted him, not looking up from your phone,
"hey, kid-"
"l/n-san," a voice deeper than atsumu spoke,
you swiftly tilted your head up, locking gazes with a familiar pair of brown eyes,
"kita-san," you exclaimed, startled at his sudden appearance,
'atsumu, that hoe.'
"did atsumu bring you here?"
"he didn't, my mother bought some sweets, i felt wrong not to share them," you spoke, raising the paper bag in your grasp.
"i see," he examined the bag in your hand, gently taking it out of your grasp. "here, i'll help you"
"oh! thank you,"
"no problem," he nodded in return, "let's go, i'm sure they'll be happy to meet you again."
and with that, the two of you began to make your way into the campus.
upon entering the school, you received many stares from remaining students as you strolled through the halls, just as you did with atsumu. the attention you received made you shift closer to the boy, averting your eyes from place to place as you tensed up under their stares. kita noticed how you appeared uncomfortable, kindly patting your arm as he whispered,
"are you okay, l/n-san?" you failed to notice kita reaching for your hand to link your pinky fingers, quietly curling them together. "sorry, i should've taken a less crowded route."
"no, it's not, it's okay," you reassured him, "can you... keep talking? sorry if that sounds a bit unusual, i just need something to distract me. i understand if you don't want to, it's just that-"
"of course, whatever makes you feel better," his lips curved into a vague smile, "did you get the rest you needed, l/n-san?"
"yes, actually," you responded, averting your gaze to the ground, "i woke up about an hour ago, i guess you could say that was enough sleep,"
"that's good to hear," a faint chuckle escaped his mouth, "how long are you gonna be here for?"
"according to my father i'll be here for around five to six days, so i've got until friday or sunday to do what i want."
"five to six days? seems like a long time," he crooked an eyebrow at you, "aren't you worried about school?"
"see, that's what i was worried about! but my father said i needed a break, and he wouldn't let it go, so i guess you could say i had no choice," you said, slowly feeling less anxious with each step. kita's company magically made you loosen up, paying almost no attention to the stares you earned. "for now, though, i'll just enjoy the moment, i'll worry about school later."
"right, of course,"
before you knew it, you reached the gym doors, the stairs being only a few steps away. it was quiet, much to your surprise, there were no students at the area, unlike the hallway.
the captain removed his pinky from yours, his other still holding the bag of sweets. it was only then you had realized that he had been holding your had for the whole walk to the gym. kita turned to face you, motioning to the door with a nod of his head.
"let's go, l/n-san,"
the smile on his face made your knees weak, your face breaking out in a faint blush. your eyes widened, moving your gaze to your feet in hopes that he didn't see the pink tint on your cheeks. your actions didn't go unnoticed by him, he placed the bag on the stairs, shifting so that he was standing in front of you, carefully taking a hold of your hand.
"hey, are you alright?" the moment you looked up, he placed the back of his hand on your forehead. upon doing so, a hazy frown made it's way to kita's face, unsatisfied with the warmth that emitted from your skin. "you're heating up, l/n-san, do you need to go to the infirmary?"
you only grew warmer in response, the flush on your face becoming more visible than it had been.
"n-no! it's fine, kita-san," you flusteredly replied, his palm unmoving. you settled your hand on his shoulder, patting it in assurance, "i'm not sick or anything."
"are you sure?" hia face held an expression of worry,. "you can go back if you're not feeling well, i can bring these to them myself."
"i'm sure, kita-san," you nodded assuringly,
he examined your face, his gaze briefly landing on your lips. his eyes made their way back to your eyes, sighing in relief.
"good,"
his arms slowly wrapped around your figure, resting your head on his shoulder; his right arm rested on your waist, whilst the other rested on the small of your back. his face nestled into the crook of your neck, you were able to feel his warm breath on your skin as he tightened his hold.
indeed, your mind was showered with question marks.
he pulled away before you could react, his hands moving to your shoulders, down to your fingers to gently clutch them.
a loving smile crawled it's way onto his face as he locked eyes with you, his thumbs brushing over your knuckles. his palms found their way back to your cheeks, cupping them once again, his eyes not leaving once.
"you are so beautiful."
"aran-kun! kita-san dissapea-" atsumu stood at the doors, freezing at the sight of you and shinsuke. his face slowly molded into a knowing smirk, eyeing the two of you, "oh? moving quickly, are we?"
'...i will beat his ass before osamu can.'
