the following day, akinori woke up, arms still securely wrapped around your waist. your head remained on his chest, arms hugging his torso. the boy took the opportunity to admire your features, taking note of the tiny details on your face.

he gently cupped your cheek- as though he was afraid of breaking you. his thumb delicately brushed the side of your face, taking in how the sun gracefully accentuated your lips.

'fuck,'

he moved his thumb to your lips, brushing them ever so lightly.

it was as if his mind went blank- like a switch inside him had been flipped, he no longer had control over himself.

he leaned towards you, placing a tender kiss on your cheek. he placed another one on your forehead, and on your nose, gradually showering your face with kisses. his lips found their way back to your cheek, his touch lingering for a moment, savoring the moment while it lasted.

the contact caused you to stir, making the boy cease his lips from you, moving his hand to your back.

"akinori," you muttered, drowsiness evident in your voice, "good morning,"

you buried your face in his chest, the boy blushing furiously at your actions. despite this being something you frequently did, today felt strange.

he hid his face in your hair in an attempt to hide his tomato-like flush,

"a-ah, 'morning, y-y/n." he mumbled, softly patting the back of your head, "are you hungry? you slept earlier than usual yesterday,"

you nodded,

"kinda,"

"want me to make you something? since you have to pack for tomorrow and all,"

"sure," you replied, "can we stop by the convenience store later? i have some things i need to pick up,"

"of course," he pinched your cheek,

you sat up, sluggishly rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. yawning, you stood up, making your way to your bathroom.

whilst you brushed your teeth and did your usual morning routine, konoha, on the other hand, stayed put on the bed, red-faced and unable to move.

'i just did that, i just fucking did that.' guilt quickly washed over his being, 'i did all of that without her consent.'

once you finished your business in the bathroom, you walked back to your room, taking sight of akinori's flushed face.

"uh, akinori?" your voice caught his attention,

"hmm?"

you approached him, concern painting your face,

"are you sick? your face is all red," you placed the back of your palm on his forehead, "if you're not feeling well i can just go to the convenience store by myself."

"n-no! it's alright, i'm not sick!" he exclaimed, frantically shaking his head,

you retreated your hand, eyeing him in suspicion, "are you sure?"

"positive!"

"okay, then," you sighed, "hurry up, i'm starving and i wanna go back to sleep as soon as i can."

and with that, you walked out the door, once again leaving the boy in a flustered mess.

after he finished washing up, he strolled down the stairs, only to see your knocked out figure sprawled out on the couch. a smile crawled onto his face, his hand reaching for a nearby pillow,

"wake up, idiot." he smacked your head with the pillow, earning a groan from your drowsy figure.

"i'm still sleeeeppyyyyy,"

"suck it up, we have things to do," he walked to the kitchen counter, "what do you want to eat?"

"toast?"

"alright, dipshit," he replied, taking the needed ingredients,

you watched as he placed the bread in a toaster,

"you're such husband material, aki-chan," you said, "i hope your future wife doesn't get tired of your bullshit."

"tch, shut up, it's a fucking toaster."

"jesus, okay,"

after a quick breakfast and change of wardrobe, the two of you walked to the nearest convenience store.

as per usual, the two of you looped arms together. the small gesture was something that was done so regularly between the two, and yet, akinori found himself in a helpless situation, with his heart beating out of it's cage.

"y/n-chan," he spoke, instinctively pulling your arm closer,

"hm?"

"are you expecting anyone in hyogo?"

the question caught you off guard,

you glanced at him, only to find him already staring back at you. you were shocked, to say the least, it was simply out of character for him to be this interested.

"kind of? i'll be meeting a few... friends."

"i see,"

the rest of the walk was silent, it wasn't awkward nor uncomfortable.

you studied your surroundings, how the trees danced in the morning breeze, the small tinges of pink in the oceans of green from fine blossoms. a few kids cheerfully roamed the sidewalk, biking to where you assumed was the park. they happily beamed at each other, letting out hearty laughs.

their smiles were infectious, and soon enough, you found yourself grinning as well.

it didn't go unnoticed by akinori,

"n/n-chan, what's got you so cheery?"

you motioned to the kids with a nod of your head, "they look so happy,"

he followed your gaze to the kids, then back at you.

the tender smile on your face made the boy involuntarily break into a warmhearted smile as well, his grin turning wider by the second.

'she's so pretty,'

his eyes averted to the sky, examining the different shapes and sizes of fluffy clouds.

"right,"

not long after, the two of you arrived at the small store,

"what do you need? i'll help you get some of them," akinori spoke up,

"ah, well, i do need more toothpaste and shampoo."

"noted, i'll be right back." and with that he walked away, leaving you to stand alone.

you began walking through the aisles, eyes roaming the many racks of needs and wants. as you contemplated the options before you, you failed to notice a pair of eyes observing your every move.

your feet kept you wandering around the rather small space, occasionally bumping into konoha every once in a while. you found yourself looking through the beverage area, taking a few cartons of milk for you and akinori to drink while walking back home.

an arm wrapped around your shoulder brought you to your senses,

"akinori, took you long enough, did you get th-" you stopped upon meeting a pair of snake-like eyes, freezing on the spot,

"well, aren't you a pretty one," the boy spoke,

he had greenish-brown hair that had been neatly parted to the left, and was approximately the same height as akinori. a smirk had been planted on his slim face,

you swiftly smacked his arm away from you, taking a few steps backward,

"who the fuck are you?"

"hey there, no need to be so mean, now, chibi-chan." he slyly spoke,

"leave me alone,"

"nah," he replied, hand reaching out to your waist, "how about you give me your number, huh? sounds good if you ask me,"

"leave me the fuck alo-"

"oi, daishou!" a voice exclaimed, stopping the boy from further bothering you, "hands off my gir- s-sister!"

'sister? really? out of everything you could've called her,' oh, how bad akinori wished to facepalm at his own words,

akinori pulled you by your arm, shifting so that you stood behind him,

"oya? you?" his eyes traveled back and forth between the two of you, "i never knew you had siblings, konoha-san. i don't see the resemblance,"

"what were you doing to her?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow at the boy, "i thought you had mika-chan? or did she dump you?"

"eh? no, shut up! she did not dump me, i dumped her! why would anyone dump a boy like me?"

"exhibit a," you mumbled, loud enough for suguru to hear,

"oi! wanna fight, shorty?" he spoke, dangerously taking a step closer to you,

this time, however, you didn't waver.

"no, i don't have time for dicks like you," you spoke rather bluntly, showing no interest towards the boy, "i'm surprised this 'mika-chan' even considered dating you."

you walked away from the two boys, leaving them to stand in silence.

daishou met eyes with the boy before him, mouth turning into a scowl upon taking sight of the smirk on his face.

"what are you smirking at, huh?"

"oh, nothing," he grinned, "nothing at all, sugu-chan"

he walked away, searching for your presence to leave daishou in pure annoyance.

"y/n!" he caught sight of you standing near the cashier, handing you your items when he reached you.

you thanked him, placing the things on the cashier.

"who was that?" you asked him, tapping your foot in exasperation,

"daishou suguru, captain of nohebi's volleyball team." he replied, "a huge dick if you ask me,"

"how do you guys know each other?"

"kuroo told me about him, i just happened to bump into him on my way to school one time. seems like rooster boy's got some kind of history with him, but i'm not sure."

"i see," you gave the cashier your money, muttering a small 'thank you',

the two of you walked out of the store, you held the bag of belongings in your left hand, your right arm making it's way to akinori's as the two of you strolled back to the house.

at home, you stood in front of your closet, scanning the different garments and picking out the ones you felt would be needed during the trip.

akinori laid sprawled out on your bed, attention clung to his phone.

"y/n-chan,"

"hm?" you replied, eyes not wavering from the pile of clothes.

"what time are you leaving tomorrow?"

"around 8 am if i remember correctly, dad has a meeting at 12 and it takes nearly three hours to get there."

the boy let out a groan,

"i don't want you to leave," you could hear the pout in his voice, making you chuckle,

"sorry aki-chan, it's a bit too late to cancel things now." you walked to the suitcase that had already been filled with your other needs, neatly placing your clothes inside, "want me to get you anything from hyogo? a souvenir?"

"no thanks, i just hope a week goes by quickly," he mumbled, sitting up to wrap himself in the soft covers,

you zipped up the suitcase, making sure to lock it before making your way to the boy. sitting on the edge of the bed, you pat his head,

"you'll be fine, akinori, i promise."

"ugh, fine," he unwrapped the blanket from his frame, shooting a frown, "have fun leaving me to rot,"

you jokingly scoffed, pulling him into a tight embrace, to which he immediately returned, burying his face into the crook of your neck.

"i'll be back before you know it," you spoke, comfortingly raking your hand through his light-haired locks,

the boy sighed, pulling away from the hug,

"i'm gonna go home now," he said, gathering his belongings and making his way to your door. he shot you a small smile, "say hi to your parents for me, safe trip, y/n."

"wait," you stopped him before he stepped foot out, walking to your closet to take one of your hoodies. it was one that akinori initially bought for himself, but decided to give it to you instead. you handed him the warm fabric, smirking cheekily, "keep it, since i'm too damn irresistible or some shit,

"tch," he rolled his eyes, taking the hoodie out of your grasp before walking out the door.

on the way back to his house, akinori couldn't help but hold the hoodie close, tightly encaging it in his arms. he took short strides, keeping his eyes glued to the cement ground. the street was rather dim, the only light sources being the moon and street lamps. the boy failed to take notice of the salty tears that trickled down his cheeks, running down all the way to his neck.

'fuck you, y/n.

why couldn't it be someone else?'

"kyaaa!"

atsumu squealed into his pillow, excitement flowing through his veins, legs lightly kicking under the covers.

this, of course, got the attention of his brother,

"what now, 'tsumu?" he faintly asked, lying peacefully in his bed,

"y/n-chan is coming here tomorrow!" he exclaimed, words muffled in his pillow, "just wait 'till kita-san finds out!"

"eh? why kita-san?" osamu questioned, "because she called him a dick?"

"not only that, she's the girl he saved at the park!"

"wait, what?" he stood up from his bed, now leaning on the railing of atsumu's bunk with arms crossed. "so, l/n y/n, the girl who kept texting him, happens to be the same person he saved from some creep?"

"bingo! from what i'm seeing, kita has a thing for her, but he doesn't wanna admit it."

"hmm, maybe he's still trying to find out? his feelings,"

"true that," he sighed, "i just hope y/n-chan doesn't come back home with a broken heart or anything."

"is that so? you seem unusually considerate of others, especially someone you've never met, why's that?" the grey-haired boy raised an eyebrow at his twin,

"if they end up dating or something, we can call them our team's parents!"
