Chapter 1

The sun bathed New York in a warm glow that morning, casting long shadows on the bustling streets below. A silhouette in a striking red and black suit stood atop a high-rise, the fabric glinting in the sunlight. Another figure approached from behind—dressed casually, his slender frame a stark contrast to the superheroic stance of his friend.

"You okay there, hyung? You know that JYP won't be happy with you living a double life like this," he teased, a hint of concern lacing his words.

The spider-themed hero sighed, turning to face his friend, a mixture of determination and uncertainty in his eyes. "I know, Seungmin. I know. But just keep it on the down-low for a bit longer. I've got my sights set on another promising man. If he's willing, he can take up my mantle."

Seungmin crossed his arms, a frown tugging at his lips. "Spider-Man is already this town's hero. Are you sure you should be meddling in his territory?"

There was a pause, a moment of reflection as the weight of their conversation hung in the air. The city thrummed below them, oblivious to the challenges lurking just beyond the horizon.

With a heavy sigh, the man flicked his wrist, and a web of vibrant red shot out, catching the sunlight as it soared through the air. In the blink of an eye, he was gone, swinging gracefully into the New York skyline, leaving Seungmin standing alone atop the rooftop.

A gust of wind swept through, ruffling Seungmin's hair as he gazed after his friend, a mix of admiration and concern swirling in his chest. The city stretched out before him, alive and pulsing, but he couldn't shake the feeling that his hyung's decisions were veering into dangerous territory. With a deep breath, he turned to face the bustling streets below, pondering the weight of legacy and the cost of heroism.

Peter Parker walked through the familiar halls of his home, the comforting sounds of New York City filtering in through the open windows. As he stepped out onto the porch, he froze, momentarily caught off guard by the sight before him. Aunt May stood outside, chatting animatedly with a strikingly handsome man. Peter narrowed his eyes, a mix of surprise and protectiveness flooding over him.

The man had an air of charisma, with well-kept hair and a warm smile that seemed to light up the porch. Peter was used to seeing all sorts of characters in his life as Spider-Man, but this was different. His aunt may not have been a model, but she had a warmth and strength that shone through, and seeing her accompanied by someone so striking made him both curious and suspicious.

Peter's instincts kicked in. He approached slowly, trying to gauge the situation. "Uh, hey, Aunt May... Who's this?" he asked, his tone a bit sharper than he intended.

Aunt May turned, her eyes brightening. "Peter! This is—"

"Glad to meet you, Peter," the man interjected, extending a hand. "I'm Lucas. I've just moved to the area and wanted to introduce myself."

Peter shook his hand, still sizing him up. "Nice to meet you," he said, but the slight edge in his voice likely revealed his reservations. "What brings you to our neighborhood?"

"Oh, I'm just getting to know the community and wanted to meet some of the folks around here. Your aunt has been incredibly welcoming," Lucas replied, his smile never wavering.

Aunt May beamed, clearly enjoying the attention, but Peter remained on guard. "Right. Well, we're a pretty close community here," Peter said, his protective instincts flaring. "We look out for each other."

Lucas nodded, unfazed. "That's what I appreciate. It's nice to feel a sense of belonging."

As the conversation continued, Peter tried to keep his skepticism in check, reminding himself that everyone deserved a chance. Yet, deep down, he felt a nagging urge to dive deep into this stranger's intentions. After all, Aunt May's happiness was important to him, and he wouldn't let anyone take that away.

Lucas smiled, seemingly unfazed by Peter's scrutiny. He leaned casually against the porch railing, maintaining his charm while continuing the conversation with Aunt May. But deep down, he was hiding a secret that could change everything.

Unbeknownst to Peter, "Lucas" was not who he claimed to be. His real name was Bang Chan, the leader of the superhero team known as Stray Kids. They operated in the shadows, intervening in dangerous situations and fighting against formidable foes—sometimes amidst the chaos of daily life in the city, just like Peter did. However, at that moment, he was simply trying to blend in, to understand and navigate this ordinary world while scouting for potential allies.

As Peter continued asking questions, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to Lucas than met the eye. "So, what do you do for fun?" Peter asked, trying to find a chink in Lucas's façade.

"Oh, I'm a bit of a musician," Lucas responded, his smile widening. "I enjoy playing the guitar and writing songs. Keeps me grounded."

Aunt May nodded enthusiastically, clearly impressed. "That's wonderful! Peter plays the guitar too!"

Peter felt a flush rise to his cheeks at the unexpected attention, but he managed to keep his expression neutral. "Yeah, just for fun."

But as he studied Lucas, Peter's mind raced. Whatever this guy was up to, he was clearly hiding something significant. Was he here in New York for business, or was he scouting for potential recruits among the city's rising heroes?

The longer they talked, the more Peter felt the weight of the secret that Lucas was concealing. Without revealing his own identity or the truth of who he was, Peter decided he needed to find out more about this mysterious man who somehow captivated Aunt May.

"Maybe we could jam sometime," Peter suggested, trying to keep the atmosphere light while simultaneously gathering more intel. "I could show you a few things."

Lucas grinned, and for a moment, the tension eased. "I'd love that. Who knows, maybe we could even write something together."

Aunt May clapped her hands together, clearly thrilled at the prospect of a budding friendship. Little did they know, this encounter was just the beginning. Lucas—Bang Chan—was not just in Peter's life for casual company; he was already setting the stage for a greater adventure that would soon intertwine their fates forever.

Chan flinched, instinctively reaching into his pocket to silence his buzzing phone. "Sorry, so sorry," he muttered under his breath, stepping a bit away from Aunt May and Peter to take the call. His heart raced as he recognized the caller's name flashing on the screen. It was Lee Know, a fellow member of Stray Kids and one of the team's primary scouts.

"Lee Know, what in the world are you doing?" Chan hissed, his voice low enough that only he could hear. He shot a quick glance back at Aunt May and Peter, who were blissfully unaware of his urgent conversation.

On the other end, Lee Know sighed. "Sorry about that, boss, but we have a villain situation at Horizon High. You need to get over there now."

Chan's expression hardened. He cursed under his breath, weighing the importance of his superhero duties against his current mission of blending in. Horizon High was known for gathering the city's youth and was often a target for villains looking to make a statement. "What's the situation?" Chan asked, keeping his tone steady.

"Some rogue is causing chaos—students are evacuating, and it looks like a full-blown showdown is about to happen. We need you there to assess and contain it before it escalates," Lee Know explained, his voice laced with urgency.

Chan took a deep breath, glancing back at Peter and Aunt May. He didn't want to leave them, especially with Aunt May so happy and the potential for friendship with Peter growing. "Can you handle the distraction?" Chan asked, knowing that Lee Know would keep the rest of the team updated.

"Yeah, I can hold them off, but you have to hurry! We need your leadership out here," Lee Know insisted.

With another glance at Aunt May, who was smiling and laughing with Peter, Chan made his decision. He couldn't ignore his responsibilities, not when people were in danger. "Alright, I'm on my way. I'll keep you updated," he said before ending the call.

Steeling himself, he turned back to Peter and Aunt May. "Hey, I just got an important call. I need to step out for a bit," he said, forcing a casual tone.

Aunt May looked concerned. "Oh, is everything alright? You're not leaving already, are you?"

"Yeah, everything's fine! Just something I have to take care of," Chan replied, offering a reassuring smile. He could feel Peter watching him closely, and he hoped the younger Parker wouldn't suspect anything more than a casual farewell.

"Alright, well, it was great meeting you," Aunt May said, her smile brightening. "Let's definitely keep in touch!"

Peter remained silent, studying Chan intently, perhaps sensing that something was off. "You too," Chan said, his heart heavy as he backed away.

As he made his way down the porch steps, he took one last glance back at Aunt May and Peter. This was just the beginning of a tangled web of superhero duties and friendships that lay ahead. He knew he would have to tread carefully, balancing both lives while keeping his true identity a secret for now.

With determination, Chan turned away and headed toward Horizon High, ready to confront whatever villain awaited him and protect the city he had quickly come to care about.
