Don't tell your boyfriend...

Didn't expect this

"Are you just gonna stand there stupidly or are you gonna take a seat." Her eyes flickered to the cracked wooded benches, without a word she dropped her bag beside her and sat down sitting far far away from me. Not that I wanted to sit next to her but anyways. "I need someone to talk to." She said, her voice was low like she was ashamed to say it. I looked at her and saw she was making it her complete job to stare at the empty fields like it was the only thing comforting for her. "And you came to me? Don't you have your girlfriends to cheer you up?" Her fingers twitched as she pulled at her bag. "You are the only one who would take my side, unfortunately. You are my last hope" I laughed like whatever she said was funny.

"Wow, you are making me feel so special, Ivory." She didn't laugh not like expected her to do anyway. She looked down and bit the inside of her cheek. "It's so weird, that I need you to be on my side, needing you to hear how shitty I am feeling." I laughed awkwardly again, "It's kind of terrifying, if I'm being honest." She look at me quickly then followed her gaze away. "I just...nobody has been on my side since well you know." She swallowed hard, "I figured you would since you were there." Of course, the fight. The shouting. The tears. Clear as glass. I didn't say anything. "I haven't talked to Tristian," she explained. "Not since he...since everything. He has been trying to find me and talk to me all day but I just can't look at him. Tara has been pestering me to patch things up with him but I hav been shutting her down too. Oh and Sam? Says she on neither side, staying neutral but I can see right through her."

She pushed her fingers through her hair, forcing a small, tired smile that didn't reach her eyes, "and my own brother won't even look at me, it's like I'm the enemy here." Her voice was not longer steady, I could see the slight trembling in her fingers and the way her body was only barley holding itself together like at any moment she could break. "And you want my advice? From Mattheo Riddle no less?" I asked, "pathetic right? I'm so broken that I'm coming to you." I shrugged, "Honestly? I'm like the worst person for advice. My friends don't come to me with their sob stories. When I'm falling apart, I just shove it all down till it would probably explode." Her eyes flicked towards me finally, "You have this ridiculous talent of looking unbothered, like a rock that nobody can crack. I want that. To be able to block everyone out." Right, because that is so me. The exact truth is that I'm too wasted to care.

Instead of telling her that, I grabbed the pack of cigarettes she threw at me and tossed it onto her lap, she looked at it then at me with this seriously?' expression, "That's what makes me be so sane." I said completely deadpan.

"You're joking?" She crinkled her nose in disgust, I nodded, "You asked for my help, and that's what I use." She picked it up and took a deep breath before opening it and putting one awkwardly in between her fingers like it was gonna bite. "You are actually going to try it? What happened to smoking is the most douchebagy dick thing people can do?" She rolled her eyes, I taken out my lighter flicking it, the flame lit up as it danced in my fingers. I scooted closer a little bit close to see the light radiated against her face. She immediately tensed up when I got closer, I didn't say anything so I put the flame up to the cigarette and the wisps of smoke raised along with the smell of ash. She hesitated as she put it to her lips.

Immediately, I could tell she inhaled way too fast must have been that desperation. She choked and bent forward coughing aggressively, her eyes were watering and was clanging her shirt so tight they were almost white. A laugh slipped out from my mouth, "Geez, that was hilarious." She glared at me through her fits of coughing, "You actually like that shit?!" I shrugged, "it's not about liking it about how you feel when you do it." She looked at the cigarette to decide if trying again was worth it, without a word though she held it out for me. "You can have this. It's not worth trying again." I just stared at it before taking it out of her hand. She dusted her hands and I lifted the cigarette to my mouth where her lips had been just seconds before. I took it like a champ and let the smoke curl slow and easily from my mouth, her complete attention was on me with a disgusted look on her face.

She had gotten up and brushed herself, and looked at me with her hands on her hips. "Do you want to go to the lake?" She asked, I didn't know how to answer because well last time we were at a lake you know all that crazy shit happened. I hesitated and then she started collecting her stuff and walk off, I jerked up and stumbled my way in collecting my own belonging following after her. I flicked away the stub watching the embers of it vanish away in the breeze. I didn't know exactly why I followed after her but I did. We walked past Hagrids hut where the castle lights appeared brightly.

The lake was surround with trees and stone, I wouldn't say it's the most appealing place ever but it's whatever. She picked up a rock chucking it in the water where it jumped so little, I followed right after her and not to brag but it went a lot farther, "you just have to show off on everything." She rolled her eyes. "You aren't impressed i guess I have to try harder next time." She laughed and for once it actually wasn't at me but at something I said. She took a seat on the grass and faced the castle. "It's going to be hard to go back in there. Do you ever feel like that?" I took a seat beside her not close like before though. "Why do you think I skip all the time." She shrugged and the loud bells rang from the distance. We didn't move.
