{Tanjiro POV}

"Oh! I'll go get Nezuko quickly then I'll be back" I yelled, thinking it would be nice to take Nezuko out of her room for once.

Rengoku nodded his head and I rushed off to go get my sister. I found her asleep as usual "hey Nezuko, we're going on a walk ok?" I whispered quietly, gently placing her in her box. I smiled at her content state and made my way back outside.

I came back with my sister and smiled at the flame pillar "let's go!" I grinned, bouncing to the trail where I thought was the prettiest.

Rengoku followed next to me as I occasionally stopped to smell a vibrantly coloured flower. The surroundings were very beautiful, and the subtle warmth of the sun made it even better.

It wasn't to harsh, or to cold. It was the perfect temperature in my eyes.

"Hey Tanjiro can I ask you something?" Rengoku voiced, smiling confidently as ever.

I turned my head to the side a little and nodded my head "sure! Anything you want" I replied happily, skipping along the path still.

"I was wondering... who do you like the most?" Rengoku asked curiously. I didn't really understand what he meant so I slowed down my pace "hmm? What do you mean?"

I heard Rengoku sigh as I awaited an answer "who do you like, as in want a relationship with"

I felt my face heat up at the intimate question. To be honest, I didn't really have an answer for him.

"I-I... uhhhh, well I haven't really given it much thought..." I replied sheepishly, desperately hiding my blush with my hand.

"You know your cute when you're nervous" he complimented out of nowhere, making me blush even more as a result.

I don't know what to say so my next sentence came out as a load of stuttering nonsense "sorry, I think I broke you" Rengoku joked, chuckling a little as he inched closer to me.

"No it's fine! No harm done..." I trailed off, thinking more of the surroundings now than that very embarrassing conversation. Rengoku hummed to my side and tapped my shoulder, I spun my head around to see him holding a brightly coloured orange and yellow rose.

It complemented his hair perfectly, since they had the same colours after all.

I tilted my head to the side as he took my hand and placed the flower in it "it's for you" he smiled, walking on again as I held the flower while burning red "t-thank you!" I accidentally yelled from embarrassment.

He laughed and gestured me to keep walking. I cursed myself and hurried along with the pillar, Being careful not to break the flower.

I raised an eyebrow and lifted the rose so it was right next to Rengoku's face "here, it looks better on you" I smiled, pulling the male to a hault and standing on my tip toes.

I placed the flower behind his ear and smiled at the corresponding colours "you look great!" I beamed, looking over his handsome features.

Rengoku slumped his shoulders out of nowhere and shook his head. Worried I did something wrong, I began silently panicking until I heard a low chuckle come from him.

His eyes made contact with mine as he grabbed my shoulders rather harshly "Tanjiro... how" he whispered as I stiffened in his grip.

"H-how what..." I questioned meekly, a little afraid from the behaviour.

{third person POV}

"How can yo-" Rengoku was cut of when a sudden hot pain slashed through his back, making him scream in pain as blood started to seep from the wound - slumping to the floor with a grunt.

Tanjiro desperately looked around and sniffed the air while taking out his sword; heart thrumming in his chest.

He suddenly caught the smell of a demon nearby. "Hey are you ok?" Tanjiro asked the pillar, nudging his shoulder, not daring take his eyes off the surrounding.

"Ugh...yes" kyojuro winced, pushing himself off the floor and readying his sword.

The two suddenly realised that they were in an extremely shaded areas of wooded land, making them venerable to demons.

"Ohhh Tanjiro~ how I've wanted to taste you since I laid eyes on you" a voice sounded from amidst the trees.

Tanjiro cringed at the raspy voice and tightened the grip on his sword "what are you here for?!" Rengoku yelled, teeth gritted.

"Hummm... it certainly is annoying to have you here, but I can make it work, I'll cooperate if you do" the voice echoed from all around the demon slayers, making it hard to identify where it was coming from.

"I have no interest in making deals with demons" Rengoku spat, scanning the trees for any movement.

"Well lucky for you, you're not the one I came for" the demon chuckled creepily, sending shivers down the duo's spines.

"the master wants Tanjiro, and I'll make that happen! WHO KNOWS HE MAY EVEN LET ME HAVE A TASTE!" The demon screamed before propelling himself out of hiding.

It surprised the duo, giving him the chance to land another hit on Rengoku. This time he cut the muscle on his heel, rendering him unmoving already.

"Well that was easy!" The demon now revealed as Douma squealed, just as Rangoku hit the floor in a heap; clutching his ankle through ragged breathes.

"I'll be taking you now" he smiled, freezing Rengoku in a block of ice (using his blood demon art) to completely immobilise him while he sprinted over to Tanjiro as he was distracted.

Whacking Nezuko off the demon slayers back, he grinned sadistically and knocked out Tanjiro with a single hit. His rainbow eyes glowing evilly with a grin.

"Master's gunna be happy with meee~"
