────── Chapter 4

Shadoweaver's entire being throbbed with pain as she summoned the strength to rise and unfurl her magnificent, star-speckled wings. With a powerful beat, she spread them wide, preparing to launch an aerial assault on the menacing MUTO that challenged Godzilla's might. The air crackled with anticipation as she took to the skies, her determination unwavering despite the agony coursing through her veins. As she soared towards the fray, Shadoweaver steeled herself for the battle ahead, her wings casting a celestial glow across the ravaged cityscape below.

Shadoweaver's assault was abruptly halted as an unexpected wave of dizziness washed over her. The MUTO's venom, previously a dull ache in her veins, now surged with renewed potency, leaving her body limp and unresponsive. Her once-powerful wings folded uselessly against her sides as she plummeted towards the city below.

The ground rushed up to meet her, and she crashed through the roof of a towering skyscraper, the structure groaning and buckling beneath her weight. Her vision was swimming, and Shadoweaver struggled to regain her bearings, her body feeling like a dead weight.

As the dust settled around her, she realized she had come to a rest not far from Godzilla, who was locked in a fierce battle with the female MUTO. The cacophony of their roars and the piercing shrieks of the winged beast filled the air, a stark contrast to Shadoweaver's helpless silence as she fought to regain control of her poisoned form.

A sinister chuckle resonated near Shadoweaver, sending a chill down her spine. Struggling to turn her head, one of her ivory spikes scraped against the debris beneath her, eliciting a pained growl. Her vision cleared just enough to reveal the male MUTO, its grotesque form landing beside her with a triumphant smirk.

"Now you're ours!" he gloated, his voice echoing off the shattered remains of the skyscraper. "I've filled you with my seed, and soon you'll bear hybrid eggs. This world will never be free of us!"

Shadoweaver's heart sank as the weight of his words settled upon her. Her body, once a force to be reckoned with, now felt like a prison—a vessel for the MUTOs' twisted plot. With the venom coursing through her veins and the promise of a horrific fate looming overhead, she could only lie there, helpless and defeated.

The female MUTO's desperate cry for assistance rang out, drawing the male's attention away
from Shadoweaver. A smug smile played across his face as he took flight, his stingers poised to strike Godzilla. Helpless, Shadoweaver watched as the King of the Monsters shrugged off the relentless attacks, his thunderous roar echoing through the city. The distinctive rumble of atomic energy filled the air, and Shadoweaver drew in a sharp breath as Godzilla's tail began to glow with an otherworldly light.

In a swift and decisive move, Godzilla slammed his luminescent tail into the male MUTO, crashing him into a nearby skyscraper. The impact was deafening, and the MUTO's neck snapped with a sickening crack, his lifeless body slumping to the ground. Despite her weakened state, Shadoweaver couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope as Godzilla stood triumphant, the city bathed in the eerie light of his atomic power.

your own head for that!" she snarled, retreating towards a gaping pit in the earth. Her eyes caught sight of Shadoweaver's prone form, and a sinister smirk twisted her features. She sauntered over to the fallen creature, her voice dripping with malice.

"You will bear eggs of your own—how nice of my mate to bestow his final gift upon you," she crooned, stroking Shadoweaver's snout. "How nice indeed."

Shadoweaver recoiled from the MUTO's touch, revulsion coursing through her veins. The realization that she was destined to bear the abominable offspring of her enemy was too much to bear. As the MUTO loomed over her, Shadoweaver's mind raced, desperate to find a way out of this nightmarish fate.

A sickening crack echoed through the air as Godzilla mercilessly twisted the female MUTO's neck, her lifeless head dangling from her body. Shadoweaver watched in both horror and relief as Godzilla ripped the MUTO's jaws apart, his atomic breath engulfing her body in an incandescent blaze. The intense light poured into her maw, incinerating her flesh and destroying the eggs within.

Godzilla released the charred remains of the MUTO, allowing them to crumble to the ground. His eyes then locked onto Shadoweaver, and a glint of recognition flickered in his gaze. He stepped towards her, each footfall resonating through the devastated city.

Shadoweaver shrank back, fear and gratitude warring within her. She was unsure of what to expect from the giant creature, who had just so violently dispatched her enemies.

"Are you alright?" Godzilla rumbled, gently aiding Shadoweaver to her feet. She nodded, still reeling from the encounter. "I'm...I'm okay." With a tentative claw, she touched her stomach, feeling the MUTO's venom pulsating through her veins. Her body instinctively rejected the foreign substance, but she was unsure if it would be enough.

"Thank you," she breathed, her voice barely more than a whisper. "You saved me."Godzilla regarded her silently, his gaze unreadable. Finally, he spoke, his words carrying a weight that resonated deep within Shadoweaver. "We are all connected in this struggle. Your strength is needed if we are to prevail."

Shadoweaver blinked, taken aback by his words. She had always seen herself as a solitary creature, but perhaps her role in this fight was more significant than she had ever imagined.

"If you are willing, we can have a little fun and my seed might neutralize the MUTO's," Godzilla suggested, his claw tracing a path along Shadoweaver's spine. She shuddered at his touch. "Uh, I-I don't think so, thank you," she stuttered. Godzilla chuckled, undeterred. "That's alright, no worries." He moved his snout towards hers. "What if you come with me beneath the waves? We can find an island large enough for both of us."

Shadoweaver gazed at the ravaged city, knowing she had done her part. The MUTOs were dead, and even though she might not have wanted offspring, she couldn't bring herself to destroy eggs that hadn't even been laid. She sighed and nodded. "Alright."

Godzilla smiled and gave her a lick on the ear before heading towards the water. Shadoweaver took to the skies, and soon both vanished into the darkening horizon, leaving the shattered city behind them.
