THE REAL PURPOSE

THE HIDDEN TRUTH

Aryss knew it was time. They needed to know the truth. The real reason for their existence. She never worried about telling them the truth. She never thought she would have to. She always thought it was be Ajak, but she was gone. She watched them chat and laugh like how they used to in the beginning. She smiled at them. Thena felt her mothers stares and turned to look at her. She waved at her and Aryss did the same. Everyone could see Thena was happy even after losing someone close to her.

Aryss Stark dreaded telling them the truth. At night while everyone sat down just relaxing she thought it would be the way to tell them. "We must talk" she said as she sat next to Thena. Everyone listened. "It's almost time for the emerge" she began. No one knew what that meant. (Here Arishem won't tell Sersei about the emerge because he knows what she'll do). "Arishem sent down thousands of eternals to different worlds. He sent you here with a purpose and it wasn't the one you thought" she took a deep breath.

"As you know you're here to "protect" humans from Deviants?" she sort of asked and they nodded. "But that's not the reason it's all part of Arishems plans. Did you know he created the Deviants to hunt humans?" she asked and the eternals were shocked. "He thought he could control them but clearly he couldn't do that so, he created you to get rid of them" Ikaris looked her. "So, where is your place in this?" Ikaris asked. "Arishem wanted robots but I made you human liked. I trained you" she showed them their time training before they were sent to earth. "I trained you so you could survive everything, including the end of the world" she stated.

"When a celestial is born the world has to die so he could live. So that means when Tiamut is born the world will end slash be destroyed so he can live" everyone was taking in all the information. "Now, here come the harsh truth" she waited for a second. "You weren't really saving the humans nor humanity. You were simply feeding Tiamut. His growth is being fueled by the energy of humans living on the world and shepherded by the Eternals. The more humans you saved the more they later on reproduced. The more advance they became with technology and medicine the more lives-" she was cut off by Sersei. "The more lives we saved which meant more people on earth" Aryss nodded. "You fed him and now, sooner then you think he'll be out and about and well, goodbye earth" she finished. Ikaris had a look she couldn't decipher. Druig had a hurt look mixed with betrayal and anger.

"I know your angry-" Druig cut her off. "Angry?!" he yelled. Thena rushed to help but Ikaris beat her to it. "Don't touch her!" he threatened. Aryss was confused. Why did he try to help her? "This isn't my fault. I loved Ajak. She was my daughter. But I told her to tell you the truth. I wanted to tell you" Druig began to talk towards her. Ikaris stood in between them. "Why didn't you?" he asked. She didn't want to tell them. "Tell me!" he ordered. Everyone flinched but her. "Every time a new eternal is born, Arishem erases your memory. We've spent lifetimes together, lived in many different earths but he knew that if he kept your memory you would want to stop it" she paused.

"The first few lifetimes we truly didn't care about humans as long as we had each other. But, things happened and we began to love earth and it's people more" Athena gave a pleasing look to her mother. Thena told her to speak the whole truth to why at first they were okay with other worlds being destroyed. "Why were we okay with it before?" Makkari asked. Aryss looked away. "It's best if you don't know. It was a foolish reason" she replied back. "Please tell us" Sersei begged. "Thena, don't" her mother warned her. Thena just blurted it out.

"Ikaris and Druig were her partners" the room went quiet. Eerily quiet. Aryss glared at her daughter who simply shrugged. "What?" both eternals said. "Why don't we remember you?" Ikaris asked. "Arishem erased your memories after I left a long long time ago. That's why you don't" she replied. She showed them bits and pieces of their memories. Sersei and Makkari saw the love in their eyes. Something they never had with them. Not completely.

As they waited for someone to talk. Aryss' phone rang. Friday pulled up a screen that showed a photo of all of her kids on a Christmas trip. Ikaris and Druig focused on the ones who looked older and looked a lot like them. "Are they...?" Sprite asked and Aryss looked away. "Yes. Ares son of Ikaris and Apollo son of Druig" Ikaris and Druig looked at her and then back at the screen. Aryss had a lot of explaining to do.

Also, im thinking of making an Eternal/Justice League story. What do you guys think?
