"Burke says he's got issues", Cristina scoffed as she looked at the two woman behind her. "You should see them together. They're, like, doing things, like running and cooking and talking. They're, like, bonding."
"And you're afraid that Burke will realize that he makes a better girlfriend then you?", Brie joked as she smirked at her friend.
There was silence and Cristina's gaze fell on Meredith, "You know, Meredith, just go and apologize to him."
The blond shrugged at them with big eyes, "I've tried." Izzie shook her head, "Then try again! Things can't stay like this. They suck like this!"
Right in that moment Alex joined them a bit out of breath, "What is wrong with O'Malley's hair? He looks like a Hobbit."
"He's just trying a new look", Brie told him as she contiued to walk with Cristina and Meredith leaving the two to themselves. Not long after this the group arrived at the first patient room.
"Denny Duquette, age 36-", Izzie presented the patient to the group. "37 in three weeks", the man interrupted her with a smile. "37 in three weeks", Izzie reapted with a wide smile.
"Is having difficult breathing and chest pains."
"Breath sounds?", Dr. Burke asked her with a concentrated look. "Still a little junky. He has a buildup of fluid in his system", the blond replied to him with a worried face expression.
"Hey, did you just call me a Junkie?" That's not very nice", the man joked as he still smiled at Izzie charmingly.
"Danny, your congestive heart failure is getting worse despite the meds", Dr. Burke spoke up making the smile on the man's face disappear. "All right. Do how do we proceed?"
"Doctors, how do we proceed?", the dark skinned Doctor asked the others. "Titrate up his nitrate drip and continue with Diuretics", Alex immediately answered but Izzie interrupted him, "Ace inhabitors, beta blockers and start dobutamine."
Burke nodded at them impressed and then contiued to watch Alex and Izzie, "I also want his ins and outs recorded, and one of you monitoring him at all times."
Izzie lifted her hand up, "I'll stay." Alex immediately pushed through Cristina and Brie, "Me too." Brie furrowed her eyebrows at the two interns behavior. It was obvious that Izzie had a thing for the patient and Brie could fully understand that Alex didn't wanted to let the two stay alone so she shrugged it off and followed the others to the baby station where Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd waited for them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Gibson, I'm Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd. I'm gonna be covering for Dr. Pollack", the readhead introduced herself to the patient as the others followed after her into the room.
"Mrs. Gibson had a preterm, premature rupture of her membranes at 28 weeks", Meredith started the presentation of the patient. "She's been confined to supervised bed rest for seven weeks and has a low-grade fever", Brie contiued quickly as she eyed the married couple.
"Can't you just schedule a C? Believe me, I'm ready to have this baby", the woman asked them annoyed as she looked at Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd.
Her husband nodded his head, "You and me both."
Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd shook her head at them, "I want to get your blood work back before we make any further decisions."
"I have to pee- again!", Mrs. Gibson muttered as she stood up with the help of her husband. "Come on, here we go!"
Brie quickly opened the door for the pregnant woman and as she turned back she saw the husband talking quietly to the readhead.
"Oh, it's my pleasure Mr. Gibson", she assured him before she turned to walk away but the man held her back. "He didn't mention that, uh- wow, I mean you bear a striking resemblance to a young Catherine Deneuve. Oh, you- you never heard that before?", he asked the doctor who had a confused expression on her face.
"Uh, uh, no, I'm sorry. I have to say, it's a first", she mumbled as she got nervous by his behavior.
Brie narrowed her eyes at the man, curious what he was gonna say next. "Been told I look like Halle Berry", Dr. Bailey muttered as she still had her baby in her arms.
"Beautiful", Mr. Gibson breathed out as he still eyed Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd who got more and more uncomfortable. "Well, Ms. Deneuve. Of course, you- you're, too, but-by extension."
The readhead gave the man a look and then looked at the interns signalizing them that it was time to go. "Right, we'll be back, um, in later to check on your wife." She walked away from him as the man called after her, "Look forward to it!"
Brie gave him a disturbed look as she left the room together with Meredith, "He was weird!"
"You really say so?", the young blond asked her with a knowing look. Suddenly Dr. Bailey's and Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd's pager went off making them look at it. "E.R. needs a consult."
"Uh, O'Malley, Grey, Why don't you go ahead and take that?", the Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd asked them as she eyed Miranda's crying baby.
"What about Mrs. Gibson?", Meredith questioned her a bit nervous and shocked.
"I'll take care of Mrs. Gibson", Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd answered her as they continued walking. "You really think they need both of us?", George asked her with furrowed eyebrows.
"I guess you find out! Go!", Addison said while she shooed them away. As soon as the two Interns were gone she turned to Miranda, "Are you gonna take him to the nursery?"
"Uh, it's full and Tucker's out of town till tomorrow", Miranda answered her as Dr. Webber approched them with a sceptical look. "You brought your Baby to work?"
Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd carefully grabbed the baby out of Dr. Bailey's arms as she made a kiss mouth. "Okay, Yes, yes, yes, uh, Chief."
The Doctor crossed his arms over his chest, "You're not gonna take him into surgery with you?"
"Uh, I don't have anything scheduled for today", Dr. Bailey replied to him as Brie and Cristina stood behind them exchanging a look.
"Yet."
"Okay, I can't solve a problem until there's a problem to solve. Are you saying there is a problem?", Miranda questioned him annoyed as she gave the man a look. "Is there a problem, Richard?", Addison questioned him as well.
The man eyed the for a moment, "No", he turned around and contiued his way towards the end of the hall until he disappeared behind a corner.
The group continued their way to outside of the hospital and waited for the next Ambulance to arrive. The sirens whooped and the doors opened revealing a patient that was driven into the hospital. "What do we got?"
"Tachycardic in the hunderte and twenties. Systolic dipped to the sixties. Last time as twenty seven over fourty", the man replied to the quickly. Brie wanted to say something but Tucker, Miranda's baby watered crying because of the siren.
The woman approached the other man that stood by the ambulance, "Hey, can you turn that off? Turn it off!"
Cristina and Brie followed after the woman, "Dr. Bailey?" The siren was turned off and Miranda turned around to them. "Here- take him!"
"Uh, What-", Cristina questioned as she took a step back. "You're going to watch him", the dark skinned woman told her as she held Tucker towards the two women. "Oh, no, no, no. You don't want me to do that", the dark haired woman said as she shook her head.
The two immediately looked at Brie who shook her head as well, "Oh, no. Me neither!"
"Yang, Taylor! I have a patient, I need to operate on that patient right now! Take him!", she emphasized as she pointed to the ambulance next to them and then at the hospital.
"Why don't we page Chief-", Brie wanted to suggest but Dr. Bailey citted her off. "No, I'm not paging anyone. I'm a surgeon. I'm going to do the surgery. I- I need you to help me, Cristina. Please Brianne!"
The two looked at the woman infront of them and at last give in, "God, all right."
The dark skinned woman immediately placed the baby into Cristina's arm as the baby cried, "You can watch from the Gallery. You all can." The surgeon quickly run away and left Brie to watch a very overwhelmed Cristina who didn't knew what to do with the baby on her arm.
"I will never forget this", Brie joked as she eyed Cristina who gave her a death glare. "Shut up and help me!"
The two quickly made their way inside and we're stuck with the baby for the next hours. It wasn't even that bad and the two always found something to distract him but after a while he dstart d crying really loud. "What up with him?", Cristina questioned as she eyed the baby that sat on Brie's ams as she slowly turned from side to side to calm him down.
Brie shrugged and sniffed the air as a disgusting smell made it's way into her nose. "Urgh, I think we have a little incedent."
"Oh, no", was all the asian woman sighed before they quickly made their way into the next room.
Brie immediately handed her the Baby which made Cristina look at her in surprise. "I had him for the last hour, it's your turn!", the brunette explained to her as she sat down onto a chair.
Cristina narrowed her eyes at her as she grabbed a duvet and placed it onto the ground. "I hate you."
Brie handed her the Baby stuff as she smiled, "Oh, love you too." The black haired woman grabbed the bag and sat down onto the ground as she grabbed another diaper.
The brunette watched how she threw the fill diaper into a white plastic bag and grabbed the new one. "A,B,C,D, Uh, Gross, E,F,G", Cristina sung as she replaced the diapers' making Brie chuckle quietly from besides her.
"This really couldn't suck any worse", Cristina commented as suddeny someone entered the room. "Dr. Yang."
"Oh, uh, Dr. Webber", the woman said as she looked up back and forth between him and Brie. "What's that smell?", the dark skinned man questioned her.
Brie stood up from her chair looking at him as well, "Uh, it's feces. It's Baby feces. We've had an incident, sir."
The Baby made noises in the background as Cristina turned back towards him. "Are you having trouble with the diaper, Yang?"
"Sir, No, Sir." He leaned his head to the side as he eyed the baby, "Because it looks like you're having trouble with the diaper."
"No, Sir, I've got, uh, I've got an M.D. from Stanford and a PhD from Berkeley. I can handle this diaper. Unless you want to", Cristina questioned him as she eyed him hopefully.
"Uh- N-N-No. No, it's all right. You're- No it's all right. You carry on. Carry on", he slowly turned around and cleared his throat as he made his way out of the room again.
Another fifteen minutes went by and the three made their way down to the cafeteria to eat with the others.
"Take him", Cristina hissed at Izzie as the blond gave her a look, "No!"
Cristina eyed her intensive, "She's only gonna be in surgery for another half-hour. Hour tops. Take him. Take him!"
Izzie shook her head as she made a disgusted face and leaned back in her chair, "You're a liar and you smell.like vomit."
"Really, 'Cause I think she smells like Poo", George spoke up as he drank his smoothie making Brie and Cristina look at him. "Okay this is why some species eat their young", Cristina said as she looked up onto the celling annoyed.
Brie tried to change the topic and her gaze fell on George, "Have you talked to Meredith yet?"
"Tomorrow I am, uh, gonna buy a T-shirt tht say's, 'Stop asking me about Meredith.' And I'm gonna wear it every day until people stop asking me about Meredith!", the brunette man started to answer her loud but Cristina interrupted him as she saw Meredith enter the cafeteria. "SSHH! At least they won't be asking you about your hair!"
Brie tried to contain her laugh as she nearly spit out the water she had just drank. George stared at Cristina with a blank expression begor he garbbed his food and stood up to walk away.
"Oh, come on!"
"Meredith, stop him!", Izzie said to the blond intern but George was already gone. "What should I do? Knock him down?", Meredith questioned her irretaded.
Cristina lenses forward and whispered to them, "Do you know that he cut his hair over my bathroom sink this morning?"
"George is a good roommate. If you tell him what's annoying you, he will stop", Brie explained to her as she waved how George sat down where the another Intern.
"No, he's not my room- He is not my- See this is why I shouldn't have given up my place!", Cristina answered her before she leaned back into her chair.
Izzie rolled with her eyes, "He would still be our roommate if Meredith would just apologize."
"I have apologized. I have apologized sincerely! And you know what? It takes two to make a stupid sexual decision. So whatever!", the blond exclaimed before she got up as well and left.
"Oh, you know, I just miss when we all got along. Can't we just go back to that?", Izzie asked Brie and Cristina as the Baby started crying again making Brie exhale deeply.
Alex slowly approprached the table as his gaze laid on Izzie who stood up immediately, "Excuse me, I have to check on a patient."
Alex threw his plate onto the table before he sat down on Brie's opposite with a angry face expression. Suddenlyy Tucker started crying loudly and Cristina tried to calm him down while she looked at Alex, "Awesome! Thank's Alex. Thank you. Okay, okay, SHH!"
She slowly stood up as she eyed the baby and started talking in a smooth voice, "Shut it! Shut it!"
Brie stood up as well not saying a word as she grabbed the apple from her plate and followed after Cristina who amde her way towards the O.R.
The two entered the Gallery and Tuck continued crying loudly which made Brie go crazy, she couldn't hear his voice anymore. Cristina held up Tuck and pressed the speaker with his foot, "Dr. Bailey?!"
"What is it, Yang?"
"Uh, he's crying", Cristina answered her as she held the Baby away from her body. "Let me hear him!", Bailey told her, not looking up from her patient.
"What?", the asian woman questioned as Brie looked down into the O.R. "Let me hear the Baby cry!"
Cristina hesitantly held the baby who's head was already red as a tomato towards the speaker. "That's cry number four, you need to feed him."
"Oh, God, uh", Cristina and sighed exhausted as Brie and her exchanged a look. The two had to find baby food, immediately.
ย ย ย "OH, PLEASE EAT! EAT! I'M
begging you to eat! It's yummy food, yummy. Bailey, breast milk- food. Come on!", Cristina exclaimed as she tried to feed the Baby for the third time now. Brie sat besides her making funny faces at the baby to make it stop with the crying.
"Well, look at you", Burke suddenly spoke up from behind them with a satisfied look on his face. "You find this amusing?", Cristina questioned him with an annoyed look on her face.
"And you don't?"
Cristina turned back towards the baby and tried to feed it again, "Come on. You know what!? I can't help you! I can't help you! I cannot help you if you don't want to eat! If you're gonna keep on crying- then eat!"
Suddenly George took the baby out of her arms grabbed the bottle and started to feet it in silence.
"O'Malley, you're a natural! You have nieces and nephews?", Burke questioned him with an amazed look.
"No, sir. Babies just like me."
"Well, that speaks to a good bedside manner. Keep it up", Burke said as he clapped him onto his shoulder. "Thanks sir."
"You let us carry him the hole day and didn't said a word", Brie questioned him with a dark face expression. George opened his mouth to say something but suddenly some intern approached George. "Oh, is that Bailey's baby?"
The woman chuckled as George nodded and said, "Yes."
"Oh, he's so cute!"
Cristina still looked exhausted as she rubbed her forhead and Brie patted her shoulder as she watched the other two. "Hi there, little man."
The woman looked at George with a sexy look which made Brie furrow her eyebrows. "So I scheduled the mercer kid's surgery for tomorrow afternoon. I assume you want in?"
Cristina suddenly jumped onto her feet and raised her arm into the air, "Oh, no. I want in. On any surgery, any surgery! I'll do it."
The woman gave her a weird look, "Who are you?"
"I'm Cristina."
The dark haired woman looked her up and down, "Sorry, I only need one."
George nodded his head at her, "Oh, well absolutely. I'm in!" Cristina fell back into the chair again as Brie exhaled deeply.
"Oh, and Georgeโthis is the last invitation I'm extending, so the ball's in your court." She turned around and walked up the stairs.
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
Brie sat up as she eyed her friend interested, "Seriously?"
"Seriously", George answered her as he looked after the woman. "Nice", Brie chuckled with a smirk. "Think she has a couch you can sleep on?", Cristina suddenly questioned him.
"Very funny", George responded to her as he leaned towards them. "For that, I'm giving the baby back to you."
Brie sighed as she took the baby from his hands, she eyed Tuck who slowly closed his eyes. "I think I'm going to one of the On-Call rooms", the brunette looked at Cristina who nodded her head. "I'm going with you, I need sleep!"
The two had quickly made themselves comfortable in the beds as Brie held Tuck in her arms. The brunette's eyes slowly closed and she drifted off into a deep sleep. After what felt like ten minutes she suddenly woke up by Dr. Bailey who took Tuck out of her hands.
"Cristina tried to fed him, oh, god, there was a poop everywhere."
"All right. Go back to sleep, Brianne. You two Cristina", the dark skinned woman said as she looked at Cristina who was awoken as well.
"I know that you're the boss of me and you could destroy my career and make my life a living hell and torture and pain and all that, but just, in the future, I don't baby-sit."
"Me neither!", Brie immediately exclaimed as she fell back onto the bed.
"Fine", the attending agreed with them before she slowly closed the door.
"That was hell!"
"You didn't have to clean up the poop!", Cristina exclaimed from above her which made Brie chuckle.
"Shut up and go back to sleep!"
