BRIE ARRIVED NEARLY ON TIME FOR the morning rounds. She quickly pulled her scrubs into place as she stopped next to Alex, who stood by the end of the group.

They waited by the nurse table until Dr. Bailey arrived and after a couple of minutes the dark skinend woman rushed past them.

Without a word she grabbed the chart from Yang's hands and lead the group into the next room.

Dr. Bailey's eyes widened immediately in shock, when she saw the patient eating cake in her bed, "Ms. Seabury, what- what are- no, no I'm sorry you cannot be eating!"

Suddenly Dr. Webber joined them, looking at the patient as well, "What is all for this?"

"This is chocolate raspberry soufflรฉ cake. It is the best thing I've ever tasted in my entired life. Except maybe for the banana cream torte there. It's pretty stunning really. Bakeries deliver, did you know that? Please garb a fork!", the blonde woman told them excited as she gave the group a smile.

Dr. Webber gave her a serious look, "Mrs. Seabury, you're scheduled for surgery this afternoon."

"We push the surgery a little, tomorrow, maybe?", the patient questioned him sweetly.

"Ma'am you have a agressive form of lung cancer. The earlier you get into surgery the better your chances-"

"The better the chances of surviving. So I heard. It's all very agressive. I mean, it's very-", the woman interrupted Bailey before she started laughing uncontrollably.

"It's funny", she continued laughing before she looked back at them. "I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. I have never smoked pot. I've never drunk. Before today, I hadn't had a dessert in ten years."

She laughed even louder, "I am the picture of health and I have lung cancer! I mean come on, it's absurd, right? I'm sorry, I think I'm on a sugar rush. I'm sorry."

The group looked at her without moving a muscle, and when it was time they all followed Dr. Bailey out of the room.

"O'Malley, reschedule her surgery for tomorrow and get her a psych consult", Dr. Webber instructed him as soon as they were out of the door.

"Yes, sir!"

The Chief of Surgery slowly walked away form them before he spun back around, "And no more food deliveries!"

"Yes, sir!"

Dr. Bailey started to walk away too, filling out the chart in her hands. Cristina nudged Meredith into the side before the blonde looked over at George with a expecting face expression.

The man rolled with his eyes before the group quickly followed after the Surgeon.

"So, um- Dr. Bailey-"

"Surgeons don't say 'um' O'Malley, you want to be a surgeon, learn to speak like one", Dr. Bailey immediately lectured the man, while she continuing her walk.

"Look, he wants you to talk to the Chief about Izzie. See if she can come back", Alex interrupted O'Malley impatient while they all stopped in the middle of the hallway.

George interrupted the man besides him again, "She's just baking, a lot of baking. And it seems like a waste for all her talent and medical skills to go into muffins. We just thought you'd be willing to-"

Dr. Bailey had slowly turned towards them, "Stop-talking." She gave them a dark look and continued walking again.

"Yes, ma'am."

Brianna and Meredith exchanged a intimidated look before the quickly followed after her together with the other's.

"Well, Good morning. Benjamin, Ruth", Dr. Shepherd greeted the patient as he dashed in, smiling charmingly.

"Good morning, Dr. Shepherd."

"It dosen't feel like a very good morning to me. I have to have brain surgery today. Pretty scary. Plus my sister is nervous. When she gets nervous, she sweats and the windows in here don't open, so it's pretty rank", the male patient stated as he stared at his blanket.

His sister looked down in shame, "Benjamin."

"Was I rude, Ruthie?", the man immediately questioned her, seemingly regretting that he said that.

"Let's just let the doctors talk."

Cristina started to introduce the patient, "Benjamin O'Leary, 32. In for the removal of a brain tumor that is pressing on his frontal temporal lobe. Clearly, it's affecting his impuls control."

"It makes me say everything I think, which apparently is annoying." Benjamin's gaze shifted from Derek to Cristina, "This doctor looks annoyed, anyway. Although it's hard to tell 'cause she always has kind of a pinched, uptight look on her face."

George snickered from behind Dr. Bailey and Brie wacked him lightly over the head.

"Am I annoying you? It's fine."

"You can't say it's fine. He doesn't perceive sarcasms or irony. If he's annoying you, you have to tell him", his sister told the Interns as she looked at her brother.

Benjamin gave his sister a questioning look, "Maybe I am not annoying her, Ruthie."

"No, you are", Cristina told the patient blankly, which made Dr. Bailey immediately put her into place. "Dr. Yang!"

"He asked", Cristina said as she looked at Miranda innocently. "Okay, Benjamin, Dr. Yang- pinched and annoyed as she may be- is gonna prep you for today's surgery. Do you have any questions for me?"

"Is that blonde your girlfriend? 'Cause the way you keep looking at her you might as well just mount her right here and now", the patient questioned him without hesitation, making Brie's eyes widen.

The whole group tried to contain their smirkes while Benjamin cleared his throat, "I'm sorry, was that rude ?"

As soon as they had left the room Dr. Bailey spun towards them, "I'm proud of you all. You make me proud. You reflect on me well. Grey, if you think you can keep your cloths on long enough to follow up the labs, I'd appreciate it. Karev, cover the pit."

"Wait, the pit?", Alex questioned her surpised. "I'm- I'm off Gynie?"

"Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd is out sick. You can cover the pit, or you can-", the woman stopped in the middle of her scentence. "You can tell me who's damn panties are on the bulletin board!"

They all turned towards the bulletin board, "This is a hospital, people. Serious work happens here. We save lives he-"

The woman looked at George and Alex, who both tried to contain their laughs. "Oh, something funny ? Whose are these?"

A couple of nurses started snickering and Brianna could hear Meredith whispering to Cristina, "This is bad. This isn't good."

"Well, you better claim them", Cristina said as she peeked over her shoulder at her friend.

"She thinks they're mine, claim them", Cristina said again but Meredith shook her head. "No!"

Miranda took a step forward and eyed them closely, "Yeah, I know it's one of you. It's always one of mine. Always. So tell me, which one of you left your damn drawers on my surgical floor."

Everyone looked at them and Brianna could feel Alex and George looking at Meredith, Cristina and her.

"Oh no. Did I leave my underwear lying around again?", Torres voice suddenly spoke up from behind Dr. Bailey.

"I am so sorry, Bailey. It's- uh- it's my bad", the woman said as she stuffed the panties into her pocket.

Torres gave Meredith one last look before she walked away and disappeared around the next corner.

Bailey turned slowly back towards her Interns, with a suspicious look on her face.

A small moment passed by before she grabbed a couple of charts, "O'Malley, Yang, prep your patients for surgery. Karev and Taylor, Pit. Grey, Charts."

Bailey left the group behind and Brie gave Meredith one last look and smirked at her, "Meredith, you filthy whore."

A bit later Alex was walking next to Brie and Torres, "So, you and O'Malley, huh? How did that happen?"

He eyed Callie, who just rolled her eyes as she continued walking, "I don't know. You a surgeon, how'd that happen?"

"Karev, she's a Resident. She outranks you. You don't get to ask personal questions", Bailey interrupted them, making the group of three face her.

Callie put her hair in a ponytail, "It's fine, Dr. Bailey." Bailey gave her a dark look, "He's my Intern and I say it's not okay. Are we clear."

Alex looked at her angryly, "No."

"What's not clear?"

"What's not clear to me is why you won't talk to Izzie", the man tried to speak with Bailey about the blonde again. "That's what not clear."

"Really. You want to push me on this today? Today you want to push me?", Dr. Bailey said as she dashed past him and out of the door.

Brie gave Alex a warning look, "I wouldn't push her today."

The group followed after Bailey and as soon as they arrived outside Bailey approached the emergency car and the parademics. "What do we got, Jill?"

"Harley Hernandez, 14, was street luging when he lost control and hit a car. Witnesses say he was catapulted. At least 20 feet into the air, landed on a pile of tree trimmings. Broken Pelivs is apparent as are, I would guess, some pretty massive internal injuries."

Miranda frowned at her, "You what would guess?"

As Brianna opened the door and saw the boy with a massive part of a tree sticking out of his abandom, her eyes widened in shock.

"It's alright, you're at a hospital now, we're gonna take care of you, okay?", Dr. Bailey said as soon as the boy was out of the car. She looked at the fourteen years old and touched his arm.

The boy didn't really seemed like he was present when he looked at Bailey, "Hospital? What's the matter with me?"

A man suddenly appeared next to them, shouting over at the boy, "You're an idiot, that's the matter with you."

"Dad?"

Brie immediately engaged in the conversation, "Please step back, sir!"

"You're friends are idiots and you don't use the sense God gave you!", the grey haired man screamed at his son, while Alex shielded the kid from him.

"That's what the matter with you", the man still stood in their way and tried to push last Alex, but the Intern tried to get through and towards the door anyway.

"Sir, you're blocking our path, please!", Jill, the paramedic told him desperately, but the man was totally outrageous.

Suddenly Alex had enough of the man and pushed the father away from him and the kid.

The man hit the wall, making space for the Doctors. Brie and the others quickly rushed past them, leaving Alex, the father and Dr. Bailey behind.

Brie garbebd onto the metal stocks as she rushed with the other's towards the elevator and the next thing Brianna new was, that she stood in the O.R.

She was on Dr. Bailey's opposite and next to Alex as she observed the operation.

"His kidney is gone. There's no way to save it", the dark skinned surgeon informed the other's.

"Just focus on keeping the renal artery under control", Webber said as he looked at the other doctors.

"I have another bleeder."

Webber paused his procedure, "Okay, everybody pace yourself, everybody. We got a long way to go. We have enough blood standing by?"

"Yes, sir."

Brie looked up into the observation room and spotted Meredith, Cristina and George sitting up there, watching them very closely.

A couple of very long hours passed by and at some point Dr. Bailey went outside to update the father.

Brie though they the man was a jerk but she had compassion for him as well. He didn't knew how his son was doing, or if he would survive and his last words to him weren't really nice. She'd probably would've gone carzy too.

Another hour had passed by and the branch was still inside the boy's body.

"I'm locking down the external Fixator", Callie stated and Dr. Bailey spoke up as well. "There's no activ bleeding, and the trajectory is clean."

"Taylor, I want you to hold pressure on the liver", Webber instructed the dark haired woman, who immediately followed his orders.

"Put your hands down in there, and don't move", he then turned towards someone else. "You with the saw, don't move until we get our hands on every vital organ around the tree trunk."

"Have the parents said their Good-byes", Webber questioned Miranda, who didn't looked at him. "Mom's not here yet."

"And father was too busy blaming him to say Good-bye", Alex added as he watched Brie putting pressure on the liver.

"Speak when you're spoke to, Karev", Miranda hissed at him, which made Brie a little bit angry. Just because the woman was angry at them or at Izzie it didn't mean she had to treat them like shit. Alex hadn't even known what they had been doing with Denny that evening.

"I've had enough out of you today."

Alex gave her an annoyed look, "With all due respect, Dr. Bailey, I think you got me mixed up with Izzie Stevens."

"All right, everybody, take your positions! Cut carefully, we get that thing out in pieces", Webber said loudly before they slowly and carefully started the procedure.

They had just pulled out a piece of the branch as suddenly the monitors stated beeping.

"Renal artery's collapsing", Dr. Bailey stated before Dr. Webber looked over at her, "I thought you had that."

"Hepatic artery's gone", Brie stated. "B.P. is dropping."

"All right, he's bleeding. Damn it he's bleeding fast. Labs", Webber exclaimed as he nodded at Alex, who was already placing the labs.

The monitors continued beeping and everyone continued to try and do their best to safe the boy's live.

IN THE EVENING BRIANNA WAS AT JOE'S BAR with the other Interns. Coming back from the bar, she drunk from her glass and nearly bumped into George, who was just leaving from there table.

"Where is he going?", Brianna questioned Meredith, while she sat down besides her.

"He's getting laid", the blonde told her simply.

"God, you know there is something wrong in the world when Bambi's getting laid and I can't get five minutes alone with Burke", Cristina whinned as she placed her jacked over her chair, looking at her two friends while she sighed.

"What are you doing?", Brie frowned as she watched Mer holding out a coin.

"Day's over. Flippin' a coin. Call it", Meredith said as she looked over at them.

"The brain surgeon should be heads", Cristina stated a she nipped at her drink.

"What are we doing?", Brie question the two as she forwned.

Meredith stare at the coin, "I'm flippin' a coin and based on what's it gonna be I'm dating Derek or Finn."

The blonde flipped the coin and as soon as it landed she looked at it, as did the other's. "So, choice made."

"Really? That's it?", Brianna questioned her. "Just like that? You're gonna base your choice on flippin' a coin?"

Meredith shrugged at her, "I'm taking a cue. From Benjamin. Impulsive, honest- It's my new motto."

Cristina sighed deeply before she looked at the other two, "Benjamin died."

Meredith look got sad, "He wasn't impulsive, Meredith. He wasn't honest. He was sick and brain damaged. And now he's dead."

Brie gluped while her gaze drifted off, thinking about the man she had just saw this morning.

"How is the tree guy?", Cristina's voice pulled her out of her daze.

He brunette took a sip from her drink and gave her friend a side glance, "He's alive, for now."

At some point Meredith left them alone and the two remained sitting by their tabel, chatting about their day.

All in all it had been a pretty interisted but exhausting day for Brie, and now she just wanted to get into her bed, leaving everything behind.

But when her and Meredith arrived at home, they met George and Callie on their way inside.

The brunette placed her bag on the stairs, yawning loudly before she quietly followed after the other's into the kitchen.

Everywhere were muffins, on the table on the chairs and Izzie stood by the counter, making more.

The blonde looked up and gave them a dark look, "I'm busy, leave me alone."

The group remained silent before suddenly Miranda's voice came from the kitchen door, catching everyone's attention. "Izzie."

Their heads snapped towards her and Miranda gave them a look, making them all quickly disappear, leaving the two to themselves.
