"aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. jane and alec will try and take me out first because i can anticipate their moves." edward explains his thoughts as heejin looks down to the floor, she was sitting on paul's lap with his hands securely around her waist, his head laying on her back as she played with his hands.

"too bad we dont all have your shield." garrett comments trying to get the gazes that were focused on heejin off of her at the mention of the volturi guard.

"doesent help me fight tho." bella shrugs.

"no, but you could help the rest of us if you could project it." tanya offers an idea.

"what do you mean?" bella asks, her head turned to edward but tanya answers.

"i mean shield someone other than yourself" the blonde explains to clear up some confusion.

"is that possible?" bella asks carlisle, knowing he knew more about gifts but he turns to heejin.

the asian girl nods her head, "sure, gifts can be developed over time. i had mine on palms first but now i have it everywhere all over my body."

kate agrees with her, "at first mine was just in my palms as well, now i can radiate it all over my body." she explains, demonstrating it by letting electricity flow through her body.

"how do you do it?" bella asks and seeing kate's unsure look she grabs her hand - a little too tight - if you would ask kate, "tell me." she says eagerly.

"ow.." kate mumbles and bella mutters a quick apology, letting her hand go.

"lets take this outside then." heejin grins to jungwon who did the same.

the two often did this, they were alone most of the time but they were a family at heart just like with the volturi, she left them but she knew if she wanted to come back, they would accept her with no fight. especially aro and caius.

the two asians follow kate out the back porch and down to the treeline.

"you need to visualize it, see how it moves, what color it is. now picture it expanding. will it to go beyond you." the asian girl tells her, she was the one who taught jungwon how to use his gift everywhere on his body as well.

paul was once again standing behind her, one arm draped over her shoulder and the other around her waist as he leaned her into his chest, jungwon stood next to them and gave them a side eye, wishing nothing more than to see leah again.

bella tries to expand her shield but only managed to do so for a moment before it went back into her, kate smirks as an idea came to her mind, "i think she needs something to motivate her."

edward steps forward slowly, quickly getting an idea of what she meant but bella was quick to deny that idea, "no."

"its alright, i can take it." edward says to assure his wife but even heejin knew he was lying.

"he says that now." garrett says, still spooked by the pain level of kate's electricity shocks.

"focus bella or he's gonna be hurting." emmet taunts his new sister, crossing his arms over his buff chest.

heejin slaps jungwon's arm as he snickered, already knowing what was about to happen.

edward lifts his hand up, ready for kate's electrokinesis to affect him while bella shakes her head in defeat, warning him, "edward i'm not ready to do this yet."

kate ignores her warning and instead touches edward's hand, making him tumbling to the floor as a painful electric shock went through his body.

"i'm sorry! i said that i wasnt ready!" bella rushed out, blaming her for not being quick enough.

"dude, your not motivating her enough!" emmet says, annoying edward to great ends.

"you want to try?" edward offers, standing up again and ready -not really - for another wave of pain.

bella tries again as kate touched edwards neck this time, making him yell out in pain as bella squeezed her eyes shut, her anger level rising as she shouts, "kate!"

"you seem to lack incentive." kate taunts, "shall i go see if renesme is awake?"

this hit a nerve for obvious reasons as bella quickly glared at the blonde woman, not liking this one bit, "are you crazy?!"

"all right. this one's full on power." kate states, raising her hand towards edward just as bella's shiel is projecting towards edward, protecting him from kate's electro shocks as it touched him.

edward - awaiting for the pain - opens his eyes as he didnt feel kate's shocks affect him, "its painful but its bearable." he explains.

"okay, we should go again." bella says, getting excited.

"emmet?" edward asks, almost taunting his adoptive brother.

"i'm good.."
