heejin was standing next to benjamin, gossiping with him for a short while as he told her stories from his life in egypt as the two stood with the group of vampires, showing off their gifts

"if you werent holding my hand right now, i could swear this was real." edward states to bella as zafrina was showing him the amazon with her mind control. the birds chirped and the animals were heard, it felt so real for edward as he was looking around in awe.

"i dont see anything." bella spoke up in confusion, looking around but she only saw the forest of forks.

"edward!" eleazar calls out, "you didnt tell me your wife is a shield."

bella looks to edward in confusion, "whats a shield?"

edward stares at his wife with loving eyes, "the ones i've met were so different.."

heejin offers her a smile, "its a defensive talent, its why your husband cant read your mind, same with aro."

"you have a very powerful gift." kate suddenly came from behind, taking bella's hand in her own as she uses her electrokinesis only for her to remain casual, "oh yeah, she's a shield, all right. that should've put her on her ass." she released her hand as heejin chuckles in amusement.

"or your voltage has been exaggerated." garrett smirks and heejin couldnt help the smirk on her lips knowing that kate's gift would definitely change his opinion.

"maybe it only works on the weak?" kate questions, daring garret to try it out himself. the blonde smirks as she wiggles her fingers at him, garrett hesitantly stepping forwards.

"garrett, i wouldnt." carlisle warns him, knowing how painful it would be.

tho he didnt listen and touched her hand with his finger for a second before he fell on his knees in pain, looking up at her in admiration, "you are one amazing woman."

heejin turns her head to the side, whispering to benjamin, "paul should take a page from his book, he doesent compliment me when i made a ice sculpture for his mother."

he snickers at that, "well i would say choose a new boyfriend but he imprinted on you." he shrugs, getting a slap on his arm from her.

suddenly she takes on a new smell, turning her head to carlisle, "someone's coming and they werent invited."

the two took off, the new scent mixing with paul's and the packs - having hunted the two vampires through the woods. the group of vampires followed after the two before they arrived in front of two rocks where two romanian vampires sat.

heejin heard a low whistle from one of the two and glared at the ash blonde one who eyed her like candy. a soft fur suddenly tickling her body as paul stands next to her protectively with a growl while she sets her hand on his body, running it through his fur to calm and assure him she was alright.

"vladimir, stefan. you're a long way from home." carlisle speaks up.

"we heard the volturi were moving against you. and that you would not stand alone." vladimir tells them, "although you already have one of their guards with you." he grins, seeing the few shocked looks of amun and his mate and two other vampires she didnt know.

carlisle steps forward, "we did not do what we were accused of."

"we do not care what you did, carlisle." vladimir rolls his eyes in annoyance while stefan smirks, "we have been waiting a millennium for the italian scum to be challenged."

heejin tensed up and paul noticed that stepping slightly in front of her to protect her in case they would harm her since she was once a volturi guard.

"its not our plan to fight the volturi." carlisle states firmly.

"shame." vladimir responds, not really caring, "aro's witnesses will be so disappointed. they enjoy a good fight, after all." he grins towards stefan who chuckles.

"aro's witnesses?" eleazar asks, stepping towards carlisle in question.

"awe, still hoping they would listen?" vladimir smirks sarcastically.

heejin stands next to eleazar as she explains, "when aro wants someone from a coven, its never long before evidence turns up, proving that coven committed some crime."

every coven was gathered together in the cullen home as they explained what happened to the others, paul standing behind her with his arms around her waist.

"so he's done this before?" bella asks the two and eleazar nods his head in confirmation.

"it happens so rarely, i never realized it was a pattern." he tells them.

"apparently he always pardons one person whose thoughts he claims are repentant." carlisle continues as he looks to heejin who nodded her head to agree.

"this person always has an ability. and they're always given a place with the guard." eleazar continued as a benjamin looks to heejin who looks scared and unsure.

"this is all about alice and claire. he has no one like them." edward spoke up causing paul to pull heejin closer to his chest.

"which is why she left." bella states not really convinced that alice left to protect herself.

"why does he need witnesses?" emmet asks worry coating his eyes.

"to spread the word that justice has been served. after he slaughters an entire coven." alistar answers, everyone glancing around their groups in worry.

"benjamin, tia, we're leaving." amun states, grabbing his wife and looks at benjamin who stayed put as well as tia.

"and where will you go? what makes you think they'll be satisfied with alice and claire? whats to stop them from going after benjamin next? or zafrina or kate or anyone else with a gift? anyone they want." edward speaks up, "their goal isnt punishment, its power. its acquisition. carlisle might not ask you to fight, but i will. for the sake of my family, but also yours and for the way you want to live."

jacob stands up bravely positioning himself next to paul and heejin, "the packs will fight. we've never been afraid of vampires."

"we will fight." tanya speaks up for her coven, her members standing up after her.

"this wont be the first time i fought a king's rule." garrett speaks up, smiling at kate.

"we'll join you." benjamin speaks up before amun let out a disagreeing no, trying to shut him down stubbornly.

"i will do the right thing, amun. you may do as you please." benjamin stands up for himself.

"we will stand with you." senna speaks for her coven.

"so will we." siobhan speaks up as well, nomads stand up nodding to carlisle and edward silently telling them they would fight.

"that didnt take much.." vladimir mutters to stefan.

"lets hope it doesent come to that." edward speaks, taking the role as the leader.

alistar nudged carlisle, "we'll see." before going out of the room.

heejin turns to edward, "i'll call a friend, he'll help as well."

he nods his head, "thank you, claire. i know how hard it must be to go against them."

she shrugs, "lets hope it wont come to that." she repeats his words, a certain look in her eyes as she walks out of the room, her steps echoing through the room as she grabs her phone from the table in hurry.
