๐˜ผ๐™›๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง Blake and Thomas' steamy shower, one of the guards lead the two to a set of doors.

Blake's eyes widen as the guard opens the doors, revealing a medical lab.

Microscopes, vials, and medical equipment are everywhereโ€”along with people in white coats. The smell of antiseptic lingers as Blake swallows a lump in her throat, her eyes flickering from one side of the room to the other.

"Thomas? โ€”Blake?" A voice calls from beside them.

Blake turns her head to see a lady walking towards them with a clipboard in her hands. The woman's eyes flickered between the last two gladers.

Blake hesitantly nods, confirming her name as Thomas does the same.

"Okay, follow me." The woman replies as she turns around.

Thomas' eyes glance to Blake's green, silently communicating for her to go first.

Heat rises in Blake's cheeks as she walks ahead of Thomas. A shiver rolls down the girl's spine as she recalls the time they had.

Blake turns her gaze away from the eyes, staring into her own, hiding her blush. The two walk after the woman as their eyes survey around themโ€”doctors and nurses fill the room, testing vials of some sort.

Blake and Thomas come to a halt as the nurse reaches a single seat, "Thomas, wait hereโ€”Blake, come with me." The woman's voice startled Blake out of a heat-induced daydream.

Blake's eyes flicker to the boy beside her hesitantly before Thomas sits in the seat. Blake follows the nurse as she leads her to some treadmills Minho is currently running on.

"I'll need you to run for a minute. We're just checking your heart rate." The nurse says, nodding to the treadmills.

Blake's eyes narrow at the nurse before stepping on. "We'll also have a look at that hand after your run." The woman continues

Blake takes a deep breath as the woman leans over, pressing buttons as the treadmill slowly moves. Blake's head slowly turns to Minho as he jogs. His head shakes to the side as he rolls his eyesโ€”showing Blake his annoyance with these people.

Blake chuckles at her best friend as she picks up the pace, noticing that her treadmill has started.
The nurse keeps pressing as the speed picks up faster and faster; Blake's run turns into a sprint as she pushes herself.

The nurse hums as her finger moves towards the speed button again. Blake pants as she sprints with everything she's got.

"Wait-" Blake manages to breathe out before the woman pushes the button again, causing Blake to breathe heavily.

"S'too fast!" Blake pants in between breaths as her legs carry her to her limit. The struggle to breathe starts getting worse and worse.

Minho's eyes snap over to Blake, noticing she is at her limit. "Hey! Turn that shit off now!" He yells as he stops his treadmill. "Turn it off now!" Minho continues as he yells at the doctor.

Blake continues heaving in air as the nurse presses the 'stop' button. Blake slows her pace until the machine stops, bending over as she gasps for air.

Thomas' eyes snap over, hearing Minho raise his voice to see the small brunette girl slowing to a stop, gasping. Thomas' brows furrow in concern and confusion as rage flows through his veins.

"What the hell was that?!" Minho shouts, causing a few of the doctors to stop and stare.

Blake finally catches a breath as she looks up to the nurse. "You bitch."

Her green eyes stare holes into the nurse's head before adverting her glare to Thomas.

The greenie strides over towards her with an angry expression, but a hand reaches out in front of him, stopping him in his tracks.

"Sit back down, she's fine." A guard says to him as his hand grasps onto Thomas' upper arm. The guard pulls the boy toward the chair, but Thomas rips his arm out of the guard's grasp, shoving him away.

"She didn't look fine!" Thomas says angrily

"They are just testing their limits, making sure they're healthy." The guard says, "She's fine. Now go sit back down."

Thomas lets out a loud huff as he walks back to his seat. His eyes look over to see the nurse leading Blake into a separate room, one with curtains blocking everyone else's view.

"Hey, where is she going?" Thomas asks the guard as a nurse walks up to the boy.

"Hello, Thomas." The nurse says, smiling.

"Where are they taking her?" Thomas almost repeats himself as he points to the small girl being led away.

"Don't worry, they're just giving her a checkup and taking a look at her wrist." The nurse replies

Thomas' eyes narrow, looking back over to the nurse, studying her.

"Now I'm just going to take some blood samples from you. Shouldn't take long." She smiles

The nurse shuts the curtain behind Blake as she walks into the small examining room. "Alright, please take a seat." The nurse says as a small smile forms on her lips. She gestures for Blake to sit down in the examining chair.

Blake glares at the woman, crossing her arms as she plops down behind her, not taking her eyes off the woman in front of her. The nurse pulls out supplies to draw blood and turns back to Blake.

"Stick your arm out for me."

Blake draws in a deep breath before stretching her arm out to the nurse, cocking her head to the side as she still holds the nurse's stare.

The nurse smiles at the girl before she feels around Blake's arm for a vein. Finding the vein, the lady then wraps a blue band around Blake's upper arm. As she ties the band, she lets it go with a pop as the band secures.

Green eyes watch the nurse's every move as she pulls a needle out.

"Just a little prick." She tells Blake as she slides the needle into the girl's arm. The nurse drawls two samples of Blake's blood before throwing the supplies away and packing the vials of blood into a stand on the table.

"Okay, now we're going to take a look at that wrist." The nurse says as she lets out a sigh.

Blake keeps a straightโ€”blank expression as she watches the nurse unravel the gauze, wincing at any pressure the nurse puts on it.

Once the nurse looks at Blake's bare wrist, she hisses at the sight, "Ooo, definitely broken." she says, pushing her fingertips on different spots of the wound.

Blake yelps as the nurse pushes down too hard in one spot. "Hey! Easy!" Blake seeths

Thomas glances down at his arm as they draw blood, cringing as his eyes cast over to the numerous vials that sit on the counter beside him.

"Sure you got enough there?" Thomas questions with a dry and irritated tone.

The boy jumps slightly as he hears a yelp from across the room, making his eyes snap over to where he had seen Blake disappear.

"Hey, what's going on in there?" He asks as he shifts to get up.

"They probably found an injury on the girl. Just relax." The doctor tells him as he pushes the boy back down into the seat.

Thomas' eyes narrow in annoyance.

"Good evening, Dr. Crawford." The doctor greets. Thomas' eyes flicker from the doctor in front of him to a woman in a white coat who walks with a clipboard in her hands.

"How are the new arrivals holding up?" The woman asks.

"So far so good." The man beside Thomas responds

Dr.Crawford stops in front of Teresa, who sits on an examining table.

"You must be Teresa." The doctor says before a man walks in front ofย  Thomas' view.

"Thomas?" He asks

Thomas freezes for a second before replying, "Yeah?"

"Come with me, please." The man says, nodding his head in the direction.

Thomas gets up to see Dr. Crawford closing Teresa's curtain as he walks by, their eyes making contact before the curtain shuts.

"Ow, you prick!" Blake's voice sounds from the curtains on the opposite side of Teresa's. Thomas' eyes shift over to Blake's curtains as they remain closed, his eyebrows furrow in agitation.

"Ow, you prick!" Blake yelps as the woman wraps her wrist in a cast. "I'm almost done. Just try to hold still."

"I'm trying, but it's hard when you keep bruising my wrist even more." Blake fires

"There. All done." The woman says, looking down at Blake's cast.

The girl flickers her eyes down to see a black cast now hardened on her wrist, her lips purse as she studies it.

"We will keep it on for six to eight weeks for it to heal..till then, try to keep it dry." The nurse says, cleaning up the extra material.

"Thank you." Blake whispers, feeling bad for how she talked to the woman who was only trying to help. "I shouldn't haveโ€”" the girl begins

"Blake, it's okay. I know you're scared, angryโ€”confused. You're not the first one to get upset." The nurse says, turning to the girl with a small cup in her hand and a syringe in the other.

Blake's eyebrows raise at the needle. "The hell is that?"

"Vitamins, since you were deprived of them in the maze. Is this okay?" The nurse asks

Blake hesitantly nods as the woman inserts the needle into her skin.

"After you're all fixed up, you can join the others." The woman informs the girl.

Blake walks in between two men as they lead her into a room. The girl's gaze hardens into a glare, turning to the guards.

"The nurse told me I would be with the rest of my friends. Why the hell am I here."

The guard chuckles at the small girl's anger. "You're just a little ball of fire, aren't you?"

"Buddy, you haven't seen anything yet.." The girl replies, cocking her head to the side. Her eyes stare at the guards in front of her, challenging them. A moment of silence fills the room as the two have a stare-off before a voice sounds from behind the guard.

"Alright, out." Janson orders as he pushes through the guards with a folder in his hands. The guards step out and close the door behind them.

Janson smiles at the girl, gesturing for her to take a seat. "Pleaseโ€”sit." Janson says

Blake crosses her arms as she plops down into the seat, leaning her back into the chair.

"Now, Blake. I'd like to thank you for seeing me. I was hoping we could have a moment to chat away from the others." Janson says, smiling from the other side of the table.

"What? Is this some sort of interrogation?" Blake asks, tilting her head to gesture to the obvious one-way mirror.

"Doesn't seem like the nice hospitality you've been giving us so far."

Janson's smile fades as he grows agitated with the intelligent girl before him.

"It's not an interrogation, Blake. I would just like to ask a few important questions." He says, staring straight into the eyes of the girl in front of him. "What do you remember about wicked?"

Blake shifts in her seat uncomfortably, keeping her glare on the man in front of her. "Nothing. I can't remember anythingโ€”considering they wiped my memories." Blake says blankly.

Janson continues to hold Blake's eye contact. "Do you know why you were sent into the maze?" He questions

Blake gulped at the question; she had an idea but didn't know the full reason. "No."

Janson sets his hands on the table, leaning forward. "You know, you used to work for Wickedโ€”you and Thomas." He says, purposefully leaving out Teresa.

Blake scrunches her face, faking her shock. "Whatโ€”no Iโ€”."

"You did. Did you know you and Thomas were their most prized assets? The both of you weren't supposed to be sent up, but I guess you did something badโ€”so you became expendable. I want to know what you did."

"And how exactly would I know that? Hmm? Like I said before...they erased my memories. So cut the shit and tell me the real reason I'm here," Blake growls slamming a fist onto the table as she leans closer to Janson.

Janson doesn't flinch at the girl's outburst. He only sighs before leaning back into his seat and pushing a file over to Blake, nodding at her to open it.

Blake glares at the man before flickering her eyes down to the file. The file is labeled 'A3' with black ink on the tab.

"What the hell is this?" She points at it, scoffing.

"Take a look." Janson flickers his eyes from the girl down to the file.

Blake hesitates before she slides it closer to her. Opening it, her eyes widen as she sees herself in different pictures of her in the glade or running with the runners in the maze.

Her heartbeat picks up as she flips through the pages to see a picture of her and Thomas working side by side in Wicked's lab.

"I want to know if you're on our side. After everything wicked has done to youโ€”and your friends. I would like to think you're notโ€”" Janson speaks

"Why the hell would I want to be on their side?" Blake bites back a laugh. "They killed almost every one of my friends."

"Just making sure." Janson says

Blake flips over to the next page, raising her eyebrows at some kind of brain scan. Her eyes scan the pages as she flips to another page that is bookmarked 'Subject A2's arrival into the maze'.

Her eyes narrow as she tilts her head in confusion. Her brain scan lights up in more areas than the previous ones.

Janson smirks from across the table as he watches the gears in her head turn. Slamming a hand down on the table, making the girl jump as he gets up, Janson adverts her attention away from the file.

"All right. Time for you to join the others."

Blake's eyes flicker back down to the file as she gets up.
