TUESDAY. Kol stared at himself in the mirror for a good minute before turning back to the rest of his family that was scattered around the living room.

"I'm hot. Aren't I?" Kol asked stating at himself.

Niklaus opens his mouth within seconds to bluntly answer with a quick no.

But Rebekah is quick to interrupt. "She won't care about that given that she didn't bat an eye at you yesterday," She teased.

Kol was quick to retaliate with violence, as always.

He grabbed the nearest thing, which happened to be a vase. Before launching it in Rebekah's general direction.

Elijah was sat at the dinner table with a newspaper in hand.

"I liked that vase," Finn mumbles quietly. Seeming disappointed as he stared at its shattered remains on the wooden floor.

"Oh shut it. We can buy another," Kol snarked towards Finn. "Then I'll have an endless supply to throw at Bekah," He joked tilting his head to the side a bit.

Finn grumbled to himself but simply chose to walk away.

"So Kol's taken interest in some poor girl it seems?" Klaus taunts.

"β€”Or boy!" Finn chimed in from the hallway as he walked out.

Klaus nods in Finn's direction with a roll of his eyes. His lips pulled into a slight smile. "Yes, we're all inclusive. Poor girl or boy," Klaus corrected himself.

Kol huffs and rolling his own eyes before pausing. "Hold on, does Finn think I'm gay?"

"Your not?" Elijah asked not glancing up from his newspaper.

"Wha- No! Am I just giving gay vibes? Cause not that it's a bad thing but I don't wanna repel womenβ€”" Kol began a small rant before Rebekah interrupted him.

"Oh, women won't be repulse by you if you give gay vibes. In fact more may talk to you but you'll be friend-zoned for all of your eternity," She chimed in cheekily.

Kol lets out an exasperated groan of annoyance. "I don't wanna be friend zoned for eternityβ€”" He whined out.

She scoffed and moved away from him. "I dunno then be less gay?"

"Wha- how do I?" Kol began but Rebekah was already gone and he sighed.

"Elijah, do you think I give off bisexual vibes? Cause I can work with that," Kol asked beginning to look himself over in the mirror.

Elijah didn't look up from the newspaper but he did answer Kol's question. "I think you should be whoever you are,"

Kol pouted. "Sweet but unhelpful,"

Kol grumbled and left to go ask some strangers at the grill if he looked like he was into women, men or both.

Elijah didn't move again before deciding to head into a different room in order to hopefully, read peacefully for the next hour or so.

Kol opened the door to the grill with an excited grin on his face. His lips corked down slightly in the corner out of nerves.

Though the little cork fades into a thin smile as he spots the girl that had became the apple of his eye.

He waltzes over to her side, forgetting all about asking people if he seemed queer.

"Evening darling, fancy seeing you here... it must be fate," Kol prompted with the best characteristic smile he could muster.

Emery was quick to roll her eyes in response.

"You know my brother says if you do that to much then they'll get stuck," Kol replied to the action.

"How would he know?" She shot back. Before turning her attention back to the bartender that had sat across from her.

"Sorry Matt, I guess we'll have to talk another time. I think your lunch breaks almost up and so is my patience for this guy," Emery deadpanned to him, jabbing a thumb towards Kol's direction when referring to this guy.

Matt gives her a small smile and reaches over to give her a pat on the shoulder before heading back to work.

Emery sighs as he does since Kol takes the opportunity to slide into the booth across from her.

"Oh come on, you're interesting. Your like the first interesting person that I've meet in this gods forsaken town. I mean the book, come on! You gotta tell me what it was aboutβ€”" Kol pauses his rant, remembering that most woman like to be heard not the other way around.

"You wanna hear about my book?" Emery asked him gently, she was always happy to speak about her books.

"Of course, I do. You may not have notice darling but I haven't exactly wasted my breath on any one else in this place," Kol retorted quickly without hesitation.

Emery smiled at him a bit. "You really didn't mean to say those things earlier, did you?" She asked with a cautious look.

"I didn't mean to, I'm just a stupid guy," He said.

Emery's eyes narrowed again. "Your sister tell you to say that?" She asked catching how robotic the line had sounded compared to the others.

"Well no- more like demanded." Kol said and Emery scoffed moving to stand.

"Okay wait!" Kol called out, though this only motivated the petty blonde to leave quicker. She rarely did anything a man asked her too.

Honestly if Kol had told her to get home safely then she would go out of her way to not do that.... So maybe she was petty but she didn't particularly care.

"Why don't you let me take you out on a date, just to try it out if not then a friend day-hang out thing. That's a thing people do, right?" Kol asked walking backwards, beside her as she walked out.

She paused in her movements and Kol stumbled over the sidewalk before standing straight again with an awkward clearing of his throat.

Dragging a hand through his short hair with a long sigh. Emery had to admitβ€” at least silently, to herself, where no other soul could ever hear... Kol had nice hair and hands.

"I have a boyfriend," She lied easily. She didn't see it exactly as a lie considering she had boys that were friends.

"Oh," Kol muttered sadly before perking up.

"Well that's alright dear, I'm still gonna try to be your friend. Again, this town doesn't offer much else in terms of entertainment," He informs her as if she didn't already know. Why else would she be at a stupid mini restaurant after school.

Emery's eyebrow shots up in a judgmental fashion. "So I'm entertainment now?" She asked with a scowl.

Kol grimaced immediately and began to open and close his mouth like a fish. For once not having a witty retort at the ready.

She was too unpredictable for him. He couldn't just have a response ready to go like he had for most boringly predictable people. β€”Such as Damon Salvatore.

Her scowl drops at his helpless face and laughs begin to leave from her pink tinted lips.

"Relax, I'm just messing with you. You really are the worst at talking to girls," She scoffed out and Kol rolled his eyes in reply.

"Whaβ€” I am not! That's Elijah," Kol splutters.

"Who's Elijah?" She asked in turn, clearly confused by the reference.

"My very proper brother," Kol vaguely described for her.

She raised a brow but didn't comment further, not caring enough to continue with the topic.

"So are you just going to follow me?" Emery asked still walking while Kol trailed beside her.

"Well I suppose? Unless you'd like to go somewhere and hang outβ€” as friends?" He asked looking a little nervous, because for once in his life he truly feared rejection.

"Following me like this makes you seem like a stalker." She said, not glancing his way.

"Wha- I am not aβ€”" Kol stammered, still stumbling as he followed her.

"Stalker." She called him, not looking his way as she walked down the street.

Kol huffed and whined in annoyance as he trailed after his new friend.

"Stoppp calling me that," he complained.

"No! It's what you are," she said in turn.

"Fine. If it means we can hang out then I guess you can call me a stalker.... Although I wouldn't mind other nicknames darling," he attempted to flirt. She turned her head to face him for a moment. Giving him an unamused look.

"Boyfriend." She reminded, still lying entirely. Ignoring the slightest flutter in her stomach at the nickname he had given her in return.

"Right. Sorry." He offhandedly and half heartedly apologized. "I just have a flirtatious personality. I can't just turn it off," he said. Though at her slight glare his way, he shut his mouth for a moment. Pausing before speaking again, "I'll turn it off," he mumbled.

"Good." She said in the slightest, most unnoticeable praise. Though Kol seemed to soak it up like a sponge as he took a few extra long strides to catch up to her side, no longer trailing behind her.
