The quartet were on the road. Steve was driving, Natasha fell asleep in the passenger seat, while Aaron was in the back seat with an unconscious Bobbi, whose head was on his lap.

Aaron was still in shock after what he found out from Zola. Not only was HYDRA still active after World War II, but they want to turn him into a weapon, which meant only one thing...

HYDRA knows that he's The Flash.

Steve noticed how deep in thought Aaron was and decided to check on him.

Steve: You okay?

Aaron: Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine.

Steve knew he was lying, but decided not to say anything about it.

Aaron: Oh, who the hell am I kidding? No, I'm not fine. a Nazi organization that everyone thought was dead turned out to be alive this whole time, they've been reeking havoc for 70 years, and now they want to turn me into a weapon, which only means one thing.

Steve: ...They know about you being The Flash?

Aaron: Zola wouldn't have called me a candidate to anything if they didn't.

Steve: (sighs) I'm not gonna let that happen. If they want you, they'll have to go through me.

Aaron: (nods) Appreciate it.

Silence filled the car before Steve decided to break it.

Steve: Can I ask you something?

Aaron: Shoot.

Steve: I know you don't like me visiting Peggy ever since I found out she was still alive, can you tell me why?

Aaron: (wide-eyed) How'd you...?

Steve: It was pretty obvious.

Aaron: (sighs) I guess I just didn't like seeing my friend stay stuck in the past. Look, I get it, you love Peggy, I bet you were over the moon when you found out she was still alive, but...when you told she had dementia, and that she forgets what happened every few minutes, it hurt me. You're my friend, Cap, and seeing you put yourself through that everyday kind of hurt me. I just never just said anything about it because...

Steve: Because what?

Aaron: ...Because I knew that if I was in your shoes, I'd do the exact same thing.

Steve: (nods) Thank you for understanding.

Aaron: (nods) Can I ask you something?

Steve: Sure.

Aaron: If you have a chance to take it all back, live a life with Peggy, grow old, have a family of your own, would you take it?

Steve: ...Yeah. I'd take it.

Aaron: (nods) Okay.

Silence formed again before Aaron broke it.

Aaron: Where are we headed?

Steve: We'll lay low with a...mutual friend of ours.

Aaron knew who he was talking about.

Aaron: Yeah, that's a good idea. We can trust him...You wanna switch out? You've been driving for a while.

Steve: No, I got it. We're almost there anyway.

Aaron nods before he noticed Bobbi stirring awake.

Bobbi open her eyes and notices the smudges on Aaron's face.

Bobbi: (groggily) (sighs) Crap...I thought it was just a nightmare.

Aaron: (sighs) Yeah, that makes all of us.

He looked down on Bobbi and strokes some stray hairs off her face.

Bobbi: Where are we headed?

Aaron: A place to lay low.

Timeskip

They arrived at the front of a house.

Aaron put Bobbi's arm around his shoulders as Steve knocked on the door. A few seconds later, the door opened to reveal Sam, who looked like he just came back from a run.

Sam: Hey, guys.

Steve: I'm sorry about this. We need a place to lay low.

Natasha: Everyone we know is trying to kill us.

Aaron: And take me away.

Sam looked at the four of them before coming to a decision.

Sam: Not everyone.

He moves out of the way, allowing Steve, Natasha, Aaron, and Bobbi to get in. Sam closed the door and looked out of the window before closing the blinds.

Short timeskip

Aaron had finished cleaning himself up, and was waiting for Bobbi to finish doing the same.

Bobbi got out of the bathroom and began drying her hair with a towel. Since Sam didn't have any spare clothes for her, she was stuck with the same blue shirt and jeans that she wore.

Aaron: You doing okay?

Bobbi: (sighs) I don't even know anymore.

She sat down on the bet next to Aaron.

Bobbi: When my parents died when I was 15, I had no one to take care of me, so I was in the streets, taking care of myself. I resorted to pick-pocketing people for money, and I was damn good at it. One day, I pick-pocketed Nat and Clint, but they caught me in the act, so I ran. I managed to lose them, but they found me a few hours later. I thought they were gonna turn me in to the cops, but they said they saw potential in me, so they trained me. As soon as I became of age, I joined S.H.I.E.L.D., and I first mission was finding and recruiting The Flash. For 4 years, I thought I was going straight...Turns out I've been helping the bad guys reek havoc.

Aaron: Don't beat yourself up over that. You didn't know. None of us did.

Bobbi: ...I want you to promise me something.

Aaron: Okay?

Bobbi: If HYDRA finds us, if they're about to catch us...I want you to run. Run away as fast as you can and far away as you can.

Aaron: (confused) What?

Bobbi: I'm not gonna let them take you and turn you into a weapon. Promise me that you'll do that if it come down to it.

Aaron: (sighs) I can't...That's a promise I can't keep.

Bobbi was about to respond, but Aaron cut her off.

Aaron: You know me better than to ask me to do that. I'm not gonna leave you to get hurt if I can help it. That I can promise you.

Bobbi couldn't find a response to that as she and Aaron leaned closer to each other slowly. Their heads tilted in the opposite direction as they got closer until their lips made contact.

Once they finally kissed, it felt like a weight was removed off their shoulders. They kept kissing as Aaron grabbed her waist to pull her closer as Bobbi grabbed his neck to do the same.

But their need for air became apparent as they separate, but kept their foreheads touching.

Bobbi: You mean more to me than you know...

Aaron: So do you.

Suddenly...

Sam: (walks in) I made breakfast if you guys...(sees Aaron and Bobbi) Uhhh, am I interrupting?

Aaron: (chuckles) No, you're good.

Sam: Cool...Like I said, breakfast is ready if y'all want it.

Bobbi: We'll be right there.

Sam nodded awkwardly as he left the room.
Aaron and Bobbi just looked at each other before they started laughing.

They stopped laughing as they got out of the room and joined Steve, Natasha, and Sam for breakfast.

After they were finished, the five started discussing their next move. But Sam decided to ask Aaron something.

Sam: You said that somebody wants to take you away, Aaron. Why would they do that?

Aaron looked at Steve, Natasha, and Bobbi before turning back to Sam.

Aaron: I'm The Flash.

Sam: (laughs) Okay, that's a good one.

Sam looked around and saw the NO ONE was laughing or even smiling, so his smile immediately disappeared.

Sam: Wait, for real?

Aaron: Yeah.

Sam: Well, you're too fast for them, so why not take them down yourself.

Aaron: And risk getting caught and getting turned into a walking WMD? Not happening?

Bobbi: S.H.I.E.L.D., or HYDRA, has a tracking program that they can use to track him down using the energy signature that his powers make.

Aaron: (shows Sam his inhibitor watch) This inhibitor hides that signature, so as soon as I take it off, they'll know where I am.

Sam nods in understanding before Natasha changed the subject.

Natasha: Back to the topic at hand, the question is: who at S.H.I.E.L.D. can launch a domestic missile strike?

Steve: Pierce.

Bobbi: Who just so happens to be sitting on top of the most secure building on the planet.

Steve: He's not working alone, Zola's algorithm was on the Lumerian Star.

Aaron: So was Jasper Sitwell.

Steve looked at Aaron and knew what they had to do, but there was one problem.

Steve: So the real question is, how do four of the most wanted people in Washington kidnap a S.H.I.E.L.D. officer in broad daylight?

Sam: The answer is, you don't.

Sam puts a couple of files in front of them.

Steve: What's this?

Sam: Call it a résumé.

Natasha grabbed one of the files and inspected it.

Natasha: Is this Bakhlama? Khalid Khandil mission, that was you. Neither of you said he was pararescue.

Aaron saw a phone of Sam and someone else.

Aaron: I assume that is Reilly?

Sam: Yeah.

Bobbi: I heard they couldn't bring in choppers because of the RPGs. What'd you use, stealth chutes?

Sam: No. These.

He picks up another file and hands it to Steve. The file contained documents on the EXO-7 Falcon pack.

Aaron: I thought you said you were a pilot.

Sam: (chuckles) I never said pilot.

Steve: (shakes his head) I can't ask you to do this, Sam. You got out for a good reason.

Sam: Dude, Captain America and The Flash need my help, there's no better reason to get back in.

Steve: (nods) Where can we get our hands on one of these?

Sam: Last one's at Fort Mead behind 3 guarded gates and a 12-inch steel wall.

Steve looks at Aaron, Natasha, and Bobbi. Aaron nods, while Natasha shrugs.

Bobbi: Well, the more, the merrier.

Steve: (turns to Sam) Shouldn't be a problem.

He puts the file back on the table and the five exit the house.

Timeskip

They manage to drag Sitwell to a rooftop. Steve, Natasha, Aaron, and Bobbi push Sitwell through a door, causing him to fall on the ground and his glasses to fall off his face.

Steve: Tell me about Zola's algorithm.

Sitwell: (gets up and puts on his glasses) Never heard of it.

Aaron: What were you doing on the Lumerian Star?

Sitwell: I was throwing up, I get seasick.

He was backed to the ledge and was about to fall off the building, but Steve grabbed him by his jacket and pulled him closer, but didn't let go.

Sitwell: Is this little display meant to insinuate that you could throw me off the roof? Because it's really not your style, Rogers. (turns to Aaron) Neither is it yours or your girlfriend's, Flash.

Steve: (lets go of Sitwell's jacket) You're right. It's not. It's hers.

Steve moved out of the way as Natasha Spartan kicked Sitwell off the roof, forcing him to scream as he fell to the earth.

Natasha: (to Steve) Oh, wait, what about that girl from accounting? Laura? Laurel? Lisa?

Steve: Lillian. Lip piercing, right?

Natasha: Yeah, she's cute.

Aaron and Bobbi involuntarily shuddered. Neither of them were a fan of piercings.

Steve: Yeah, I'm not ready for that.

Suddenly, Sitwell was thrown back onto the roof by Sam, who was wearing his EXO-7 Falcon pack, which is made up of thrusters and metal bird-like wings. The wings retract into the pack as Sam turns around to face Sitwell.

Sitwell was cornered. Sam was behind him, while the other four were in front of him, so he began talking.

Sitwell: Zola's algorithm is a program...for choosing Insight's targets.

Steve: What targets?

Sitwell: (gestures to Steve) You! The TV in Cairo, the other secretary of defense, the Ghost Spider in LA, a high school valedictorian in Iowa City, Bruce Banner, Stephen Strange, George Stacy, James de Luca, anyone who is a threat to HYDRA.

Aaron and Bobbi were shocked to hear this. George AND Jimmy are on HYDRA's kill list?

Sitwell: Now, or in the future.

Aaron: The future? How could it know?

Sitwell: (laughs) How could it not? (gets up) The 21st century is a digital book, Zola taught HYDRA how to read it.

The five glanced at each other, which Sitwell noticed, so he decided to clarify.

Sitwell: Your bank records, medical history, voting patterns, emails, phone calls, your damn SAT scores...Zola's algorithm evaluates people's past to predict their future.

Steve: What then?

Sitwell: (mutters) Oh my God, Pierce is gonna kill me.

Steve: (louder) What then?

Sam grabs Sitwell from behind, forcing him to look at Steve.

Sitwell: Then the Insight helicarriers scratch people off the list...a few million at a time.

Having heard enough, Aaron took out one of his electric batons and zapped Sitwell with it, rendering him unconscious. The other four just looked at him as he retracted the baton and put it back into his pocket.

Aaron: Let's just get him to the car.

Sam and Aaron carry Sitwell off the roof and into Sam's car.

Natasha: I noticed you and Bobbi react when he mentioned James de Luca and George Stacy. They close to you?

Aaron: Yeah, you could say that.

They entered the car and drove off.

Timeskip

The five, plus Sitwell (who woke up earlier) were on the highway

Sitwell: HYDRA doesn't like leaks.

Sam: So why don't you try sticking a cork in it?

Natasha: Insight's launching in 16 hours, we're kinda getting a little bit close here.

Steve: I know, we'll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the helicarriers directly.

Sitwell: What?! Are you crazy?! That is a terrible, terrible idea!

Aaron: How about you shut up before I-

He was interrupted by a loud thud on the roof. Suddenly, a metal arm went through the window, grabbed Sitwell, and threw him out of the car and onto the path of an oncoming truck, killing him instantly.

Natasha and Bobbi knew exactly who that was.

Natasha saw the Winter Soldier grab a gun and get to the roof and immediately jumped into the passenger seat where Steve sat and covered him while Bobbi did the same with Aaron.

Steve pulled the handbrake, forcing the Winter Soldier off the roof of the car and onto the highway in front of him as he used his metal arm to stop his momentum.

Natasha drew her gun and pointed it at the Soldier, they they were rear-ended by a Humvee, forcing Natasha to drop her gun as the Humvee pushed them closer to the Soldier.

The Soldier jumped onto the car's roof and ripped the steering wheel off.

Sam: SHIT!

Natasha managed to grab her gun off the floor and shot at the Soldier, but he jumped onto the Humvee's hood.

The Humvee hit the car from behind one more time, forcing it to go out of control.

Steve instinctively grabbed his shield and pulled Natasha closer to him.

Steve: HANG ON!

Just as the car began to flip, Steve pulled Sam closer to him and broke the door next to him and use it to cushion their fall while Aaron grabbed Bobbi, opened the nearest door and jumped out of the car, using his own body to shield Bobbi from harm.

Obviously, he knew that even with the inhibitor, his speed-healing would still be active.

The five fell onto the ground as the car rolled as Steve, Sam, and Natasha skidding on the asphalt with the door while Aaron and Bobbi kept rolling on the highway, with the former taking most of the damage. Eventually, the five stopped, but so did tbe Humvee.

The Winter Soldier got off the Humvee, grabbed a grenade launcher from one of his goons, and fired it at Steve, who pushed Natasha out of the way and took the hit with his shield, but he was throws off the highway and into a bus, which then hit a truck and rolled to its side.

The goons began shooting began shooting at Natasha, Sam, Aaron, and Bobbi, who were rushing to cover behind some cars. Natasha began shooting back with her gun.

The Soldier shot a grenade at Natasha, who jumped away from the car and ran to the edge of the highway.

The Soldier shot another grenade at another car, but Natasha jumped off the highway and used a grappling hook to swing to the underpass and ran to the other side.

The Soldier dropped the grenade launcher and took a rifle from one of his goons and pointed it downward to where Natasha would go.

But the Soldier aimed at the Bus where Steve was, but Natasha shot him in his dark goggles. The Soldier took off his goggles and fired his rifle at Natasha, who got behind cover quickly then ran away from his sight.

Winter Soldier: (in Russian) I have her. Find him.

He vaulted over the railing and landed feet first onto car roof. He jumped off the car and walked to where Natasha ran.

The goons used hooks to hook onto cars so that they can grapple down, some of them, one of them had a minigun, landed below and fired at the bus where Steve was. The goon with the minigun fired at the bus, forcing Steve to run out and grab his shield and block the bullets.

Three goons that were still on the highway hooked onto a car and were about to grapple down, but Sam, Bobbi, and Aaron had other ideas.

Sam (with a pocket knife) kicked a goon at the back of his knee, cut the strap of his rifle off with the knife, and kicked the goon off the highway. He then grabbed his rifle.

Bobbi threw one of her batons at a goon's head, knocking him out.

Aaron used his electric batons to electrocute the last goon until he was unconscious.

Steve used his shield to redirect the bullets at the goons while charges at the goon with the minigun and incapacitating him.

Sam fired at one of the goons.

Sam: (to Steve) Go, I got this!

Steve ran to where the Winter Soldier went as Sam kept firing.

Aaron and Bobbi used the goons' ropes to descend to the road below and began taking care of some of the goons.

They had dealt with the goons when...

BANG!

Aaron immediately ran towards the gunshot and found Natasha bleeding from her shoulder.

Aaron: Nat!

He ran towards her and ripped off his sleeve and used it to put pressure on her wound.

Natasha: You need to go, now!

Aaron: Not happening!

They saw the Winter Soldier aim his rifle at them, but Steve ran towards him. The Soldier saw him and swung at him with his metal arm, which Steve blocked with his shield.

Steve managed to disarm the Soldier quickly, but he took out his knife and began swinging it at Steve.

Steve kicked the Soldier onto a van and then hit him with a flying knee.

The two kept fighting until Steve grabbed the Soldier's mask and threw him over his shoulder, sending him away a few feet.

The Soldier, now unmasked, turned around to face Steve. The face of the Soldier left him shocked.

Steve: Bucky?

Bucky: Who the hell is Bucky?

The Winter Soldier, now known as Bucky, aimed his pistol right at Steve, but Sam flew in and kicked him away.

Aaron charged at Bucky with his electric batons. He hit the soldier in the metal arm, forcing him to wince in pain before kicking Aaron away.

He was walking to towards Aaron before someone fired a grenade at him, which he managed to dodge. Aaron and Steve turn to see Natasha holding a rifle with a grenade launcher attachment while leaning at a car for support.

They turn back to where Bucky stood, but he was gone.

Steve: (turns to Aaron) Get out of here, now!

Aaron hesitated before nodding and went to remove his inhibitor, but it was too late, as several S.H.I.E.L.D. SUVs arrived and multiple agent, including Rumlow and Rollins, stepped out and aimed their rifles at them.

Rumlow: Drop the shield, Captain! Get on your knees now!

Rollins: On your knees, O'Connor, now!

They all did as told as the agents cuffed them.

Rollins cuffed Aaron before leaning closer to his ear.

Rollins: (whispers) Welcome to HYDRA...Savitar.

Aaron was confused at first, but figured that Savitar was what they're going to call him once they brainwash him and turn him into a weapon.

He was dragged into a truck and saw that Steve, Natasha, Bobbi, and Sam were dragged into another. Aaron and Bobbi managed to make eye contact before they got in separate trucks.

Aaron: (mouths) I'm sorry.

He was dragged into the truck as the doors closed behind him. He found two agents, both wearing riot gear, sitting inside with him.

The truck began moving.
