Grief & Help

SNAP!
Bobbi: Aaron.
Aaron saw Bobbi run towards him and they higged each other tightly.
But Aaron saw Bobbi slowly turn to dust. She saw it too.
Bobbi: Aaron?
Aaron: No. No, no, no.
He tried to reach for Bobbi, but she turned to dust.

Natasha: Where are the Stones?
Thanos: Gone. Reduced to atoms.
Gwen: Bullshit! You used them 2 days ago!
Thanos: I used the Stones to destroy the Stones.
Everyone's heart sank.
Thanos: It nearly killed me. But the work is done, it always will be. I am...inevitable.
Los Angeles, California
2020
Aaron: NO!
Aaron woke up in a jolt.
He turned to his right, thinking that Bobbi was lying down next to him, but she wasn't there.
He lies back down and cries as he realizes that what happened wasn't a nightmare, it was real. Bobbi is truly gone.
Everyday for the past 2 years, Aaron goes through the same cycle: Nightmare about Thanos, wake up screaming, realize Bobbi is not there, lie back down crying, get up and go about your day, go to bed, sleep, repeat.
During that time, he wore his inhibitor watch and never took it off. He tried drinking and eating his sorrows away, but his metabolism wouldn't allow it.
Eventually, he got up and made breakfast for himself. Of course, he keeps making too much, thinking Bobbi was still there to have breakfast with him. Once he realizes what he was doing, he just eats all the food he made by himself.
He gets dressed and gets in his car.
He drives off to the police precinct, where he works. He managed to land a job as a forensic scientist.
He parks his car and sees the new police captain that replaced George Stacy, Chloe Decker.

Aaron: Morning, Captain.
Chloe: Morning, Aaron. How was your morning?
Aaron: Same as every other morning.
Chloe nods in response. She, like the rest of the world, knows that Aaron used to be The Flash, and how he, much like everyone else, is still processing the loss of half the world.
Chloe: You know you don't have to call me Captain when we're not in the precinct.
Aaron: Right. Sorry, Chloe, formalities are just kinda drilled into my brain, so it might take me a while.
Chloe: That's alright. Come on.
They both enter the precinct. Chloe went to her office, while Aaron went to his lab.
He put down his bag and takes out his laptop and portable speaker. He connects his phone to the speaker and plays his playlist on shuffle.

Timeskip
After an uneventful day, Aaron packed up his things and closed his lab.
He and Chloe were walking to their cars.
Chloe: You got any plans for the weekend?
Aaron: No, not really. You?
Chloe: Well, me and some of the guys are going out tonight. Might have a few drinks, hang out for a bit. You're welcome to join if you want.
Aaron: Thanks, Chloe, but I'm good.
Chloe: Alright, well, the offer is still on the table if you want.
Aaron: I'll think about it. Say hi to Trixie for me.
Chloe: I will. Have a nice weekend, Aaron.
Aaron: You too, Chloe.
They go to their cars.
Aaron starts the engine and drives off to the one place he goes to everyday.
He drives until he reached his destination.
The Decimated Memorial.
A group of stone slabs with the names of the victims of the Snap etched onto them.
He goes to one slab in particular that had two distinct names.
Mia O'Connor
Barbara Morse
He goes to the slab and runs his fingers across those two names before sitting down on a bench in front of it.
He puts his headphones on and plays his playlist on shuffle.

He sat there for a few minutes until he noticed some sitting next to him. He looked to his left and saw a familiar blonde, prompting him to take off his headphones.
Aaron: Yelena?
Yelena: Hello, Aaron.
Aaron: W-What are you doing here?
Yelena: ...We need to talk.
Aaron: About what?
Yelena: Let's take a walk.
She gets up and gestures Aaron to follow her as they walk around.
While they were walking, they each got themselves a cup of coffee.
Aaron: Thanks, Jay. (turns to Yelena) So, how's the Widow-Freeing mission going?
Yelena: Well, it's a lot harder since Mama and Papa disappeared.
Aaron knew that she was talking about Melina and Alexei.
Aaron: I'm sorry.
Yelena: It's alright. How about you? How are you holding up?
Aaron: I've been better, that's for sure. So what did you want to talk about?
Yelena: I need your help.
Aaron: With what?
Yelena: I found a HYDRA cell here in Los Angeles.
Aaron widened his eyes once he heard what Yelena said.
Yelena: I don't have much to go on, but I'm trying to bring it down, and I was hoping you would help me.
Aaron: Did...did you tell Natasha?
Yelena shakes her head.
Aaron: You didn't tell her? Why?
Yelena: (sighs) This HYDRA cell is rumored to be run by Madame B. You know her?
Aaron: Only by what Nat told me.
Yelena: I didn't want to tell Natasha because I knew she'd risk everything to bring Madame B down, and I couldn't allow it.
Aaron: (sighs) You know I'm not The Flash anymore. I left that behind a long time ago.
Yelena: I know that. But I don't need The Flash's help right now. I need Aaron O'Connor's help. You're one of the smartest people I know.
Aaron gave it some thought before reaching a decision.
Aaron: Alright. I'll call some friends who can help us out.
Yelena: Okay.
Aaron takes out his phone and calls Jimmy and Gwen.
If he and Yelena were gonna take down a HYDRA cell without the Avengers, then they're gonna need all the help they can get.
