I'm so tired of everyone, and everything. My life, my status, my family. Well except for Iris, I feel like she's the only one who understands me these days. But still, she's always running around with that stable guy, I don't know what she sees in him he's 5'7. Anyway, back to reality, I closed the book on my lap that was just there so I could look smart and tossed it on my bedside table. I rolled off my bed and stood up, ready to go meet the demons I call my family. I still get lost in this place sometimes not gonna lie, lived here for 18 years of my life and can't seem to find the ballroom. I woke up from my trance and I'm in the hallway that connects the Parlor and the causal dining room. I walk into the Parlor to hear some yelling, just another day in my household.

    " No there is no way in HELL I'm marrying that guy from Neo kingdom! You said I could marry Prince Dejun from Vision kingdom! I love him," Kehlani ranted to my obvious bored parents.

   " Kehlani. You don't have a choice, do you want Cresent and Neo to go into war, hm? If we do it would be all your fault you know? As the oldest heir you have to marry, Iris is far too young and Nicolas is," father paused when he saw me standing by the door, "right there! Nicolas come join us, Iris will be down soon."

   " How many times do I have to tell you it's, Nico," I mumbled sitting down next to my mother, who was sketching a dresses for the ball when the Seon's arrive.

    " Yes but Nicolas sounds, more," he paused again, " Refined."

   I opened my mouth ready to argue when my mother placed her hand on my arm and gave me a warning look. I sighed and stared down at our fancy rug. A few minutes later Iris entered the room, panting. She composed herself, bowed and sat down on the far corner of the couch, saying nothing.

   " The Seon's will be coming in two days," father announced, " don't fuck this up."
