from the age of two, kourin always aspired to be a hero and she was especially motivated once her parents had died saving the town. she was devastated, of course, but, she also gained determination to pursue her dreams. With her parents gone, she was forced to move from her home town to the big cities thanks to her adoptive parents. she didn't mind, she was too young to mind and it gave her the opportunity to live closer to her dream school.

both her adoptive parents were terrible, but none more so than her 'father' who had inherited a fairly useless quirk and took his frustrations out on her, which resulted in constant abuse and her 'mother' was no help. kinto and ami yamamoto were the worst couple, kinto beat her every time he was drunk, which was often, whilst ami did nothing but watch. she wondered, why? why they adopted her if they didn't even like her. and her question was answered when she spotted an envelope lying on the table. curiosity got the best of her and she peered inside, her eyes widening at the money they received to take care of her. and when kinto had found out she found out, he beat her.

when she finished preschool, her first quirk had awakened, strength, she was beyond happy but the beatings had gotten worst. after one really bad beating, she rushed out of the house and before she'd knew it, she unlocked a second quirk, speed. from then on, she did her best to avoid going home, but it couldn't be helped and due to the lack of seeing her face at home, kinto beat her even more. but she'd managed to get a silver lining amidst it all, in the form of a baker, chisa watanabe and her husband, adan watanabe, the gym owner. the sliver of kindness they showed her gave her hope.

if she were not at school, she was with her friend izuku or katsuki and if she were not with them, she was eating chisa's baked goods and training with adan. and as her life had started to come together, she always knew she'd have to go back, back to the hell she called home.

with two years left of junior year, kourin was contacted by the one and only all might, who was a close friend of her parents. when he offered to train her, she leaped at the opportunity and thus, from the additional training she already did with adan, her training load only increased with all might's routine. when all might found out she was being abused, he felt so guilty he told her the truth about him, but, not about his quirk. when she told all might about her quirks, he told her to keep them a secret.

she wasn't sure if it was because of her, her parents or all might, but she had gotten recommended into her dream school, u.a. high.

despite kourin growing up in an abusive environment, she maintains a somewhat positive outlook on life. but due to her abusive adoptive father, she's gained a secret dark side. but her sarcastic side is very prominent with anyone she meets.

kourin normally doesn't have a hard time expressing her feelings, she's very open and loves teasing those she's close to. she has a bad tendency to play off her pain with an insult or joke, or worse yet, she clams up. due to her situation she's more understanding than most people, not to mention, she's extremely loyal and caring, cool headed and patient. but at the same time, if a sensitive topic comes up she gets defensive and her cool exterior fades, a hot tempered girl in its place.

unlike some, she has no problem being alone, but she enjoys the company of those she's close with. and with her friendship comes the fierceness from within her along with her blunt side and the side that couldn't give a single fuck. when she's tired, she's very apathetic and lazy, the opposite to her usual self who likes to train.

kourin has elbow length multi coloured hair, with bangs. her hair is often worn in a high ponytail when she is training, but otherwise she doesn't like tying up her hair. she has fair skin and with heterochromatic eyes, her left eye is yellow inherited from her father whilst her red eye is inherited from her mother. she has lasting bruises and scars all over her body, but the biggest scar she has is on her right arm from the top of her shoulder to her wrist. she has three black piercings on her right ear and three on her left ear. kourin has also gotten a piercing on her tongue.

normally, kourin wears a long sleeved cropped top, with black high waisted jeans and a chain belt with comfortable black fila sneakers. when she's cold, she wears a hooded denim jacket over her clothes. she wears a necklace with her mother and father's ring on it. but if she's feeling lazy, then, she's in sweats and a sports bra.

at school, she wears the standard u.a. high uniform, except, instead of the standard brown school shoes she wears her black and white sneakers with red laces. when she gets annoyed of the blazer, she leaves it in the classroom or she drapes it over her shoulders. she wears the normal u.a high gym uniform though, she rolls up the bottom of her pants and leaves the shirt unzipped, exposing her bandages and sports bra.

kourin's hero outfit consists of a dark, sleeveless and backless bodysuit with a high collar, gold fingerless elbow length gloves, and black knee high boots. around her waist is a belt with an angular golden buckle and over her shoulders is a black cape, buttoned to the shoulders of her bodysuit, which she takes off if she wants to gain more speed.

⠀( strength ) this quirk depends on her sleep the
⠀most as the more sleep she gets, the stronger she
⠀is. already, her strength is better than the average
⠀person but if she's well rested enough, her strength
⠀can equal to all might.

⠀( accelerated regeneration ) if this quirk is used
⠀continuously, she starts to feel faint and blood
⠀starts running down her nose. in addition to that
⠀instead of regenerating the effects will be reversed.

⠀( shock nullifier ) she hasn't fully practiced this
⠀quirk, so she can't nullify attacks properly yet.

⠀( banshee ) her throat starts hurting when she
⠀screams too much, if she overuses banshee, it
⠀can permanently damage her windpipe. she

── kourin barely knew her but from what she remembered, she was a kind and loving mother. she could still remember the gentle touches and kisses she received.

── her father was the same, but for some reason, she pictured him to be this big hulking guy. she could barely remember what either one looked like. but, what was important to her was the feeling they gave her.

⠀‣ ami yamamoto, adoptive mother

── her adoptive mother received the quirk of being able to make her hands heat up, and she had no particular interest in the hero course. she had no presence in kourin's life. all she was were the pair of eyes that looked down on her as she got beat up.

⠀‣ kinto yamamoto, adoptive father

── kinto had the ability to pull his eyes out of his socket. a useless ability since he dreamed to be a hero. a dream that never came true. he was the one who convinced ami to adopt kourin, to use and exploit her. but deep down, he knew he wanted revenge. he knew her parents were the elemental and the hercules. he was merely lucky that their names were on the top of the list that wanted to adopt and if it were anyone else, he would've said no. kinto abuses kourin and it becomes worse when he's drunk.

⠀‣ chisa watanabe, mother figure

── she is the mother she wished that adopted her. chisa treats kourin with love and compassion as if she was her own child. the woman often makes takoyaki for the girl once she's finished training with her husband. her quirk is metal, which allows her to touch the hot pans without needing mitts.

⠀‣ adan watanabe, father figure

── adan is the father she wished she had. when the man had found out she was being beaten, he immediately offered to train because he couldn't kill the man. but he could teach her to defend herself and that's what he did, he trained her. with weapons, in combat. just like his wife, he treated her with love and compassion, only, he was much stricter. he's the one who treats her wounds when she's beaten up. his quirk is magma blade, which allows him to turn his arms into blades made of magma and in addition to that, he can somewhat control magma.
