We all walked into the house, feeling relieved that Joe was going to be okay after everything that happened until Emma charged towards us in her embrace. She looked concerned about Joe's well-being ever since I rushed out to the hospital with his cousins.

"Chloe!" Emma said, "How's Joe?"

"It was a lot to take in, Emma, but we have some news that we need to share with you."

"Yeah, sure."

As we all walked down the foyer and into the living room, I couldn't help but to notice that Alani was quiet and so was Zeus. It wasn't like Zeus to always be silent after arriving back to the house.

"Is Alani asleep in her bedroom?"

She nods, "Yeah, and Zeus decided to sleep on the floor in her bedroom. He really loves your daughter and refused to leave her side while you were gone to find Joe."

We all sat down on the couch and all three of Joe's cousins remained silent.

"Hey, what's going on with everyone?" Emma asked.

"It's been quite a scare. They're just processing everything that happened recently; and honestly, so am I."

"You're scaring me, girl." She paused, "Chloe, tell me everything."

"For one, Joe almost died in the hospital."

"What? No! Is he alright?"

"Thankfully. However, the Police Department wasn't any help. All they said to us was that Joe was taken over to the Toronto General Hospital and when we arrived, they had us believing that Joe was on his deathbed and taking his last breaths before he died."

"Oh my God." Emma choked up, "How is he now?"

"Allow me to explain everything."

I took a moment and cleared my throat, making sure that I was prepared to tell my best friend about the recent events that had occurred overnight.

"When we made it over to the hospital, I rushed over towards Joe's room and I seen him laying inside of a hospital bed. His face was busted open. His nose was bruised, and he looked rough. His hair was messy and tangled, and then his beard had blood mixed in with it. His heart monitor started saying that his heart rate started to decrease and for a moment, he actually died and it was a miracle that he came back. I was screaming and sobbing uncontrollably at the sight until it started signaling that Joe's heart started to beat like before."

"That's horrible. I'm so glad that Joe's still alive. What caused all of this to happen to him?"

We all remained silent and I dropped my head in defeat.

"It's hard to explain, really." I paused, "Apparently, the hitman that was after Joe and I had some henchmen that found where he was located after he left SmackDown and from what Joe told me after he woke up, they were coming after me and our daughter. Joe said that he didn't go down without a fight and didn't hesitate on killing everyone in sight. He was stopped by two men who said they had evidence that Joe had killed the hitman named Dante that was determined to kill us that night. What makes it worse is that Joshua and his ex-wife, Galina, were behind all of this and plotted everything. They paid over three-grand just to have us killed. And I remember Dante admitting to that before Joe shot him in the head."

"What the fuck? I don't understand how they could've found Joe's location." She paused, "Unless..."

"What do you mean?"

"Do you think his ex-wife is behind all of this?"

"I don't think so, Emma." I shook my head, "She was sent to prison after Joe killed Joshua. And that was the same night where I ended up miscarrying our first child." I said with my eyes beginning to well-up in tears.

"Chloe, don't think of that part." She reassured me; along with Joe's cousins, "Just remember that Joe is alive and that he's going to come out of that hospital and stronger than ever."

"You're right. He seemed so positive about the surgery and luckily, the doctors who operated on him said that he would be coming out soon. He just has a broken rib and some were badly bruised."

"At least Joe's coming out stronger than ever like I said." She sighed, "I'm just so sorry that all of this happened. That still has me wondering how they found out about where Joe was at? And what if Galina was up to this?"

"I don't think she was. They have her heavily secured over at the prison that's far away from Toronto."

"Are you sure? Because I'm worried that she may have some connections."

"Well, if she did, Joe killed all of them."

"Damn Uce." Jonathan chimed in, "I really hope that bitch ain't plotting shit."

"Yeah, me either." Josh replied.

"Wanna know what I'd do?" Joseph asked, "I'd have Chloe take her out. I know you have some fight in you."

"You think so, Joseph?"

He flashed a smile, "I do. I know you could take her ass out because she clearly needs someone to put her in her place."

"Maybe so, but I still think that she's not lurking around and that she's gonna spend the rest of her pathetic life locked inside of the prison where she belongs. After everything her and my ex-boyfriend, Joshua, done to us, she truly deserves to suffer."

"You ain't wrong." Josh said.

"When do you think Joe's coming out of the hospital?"

I shook my head, "I don't know right now. They haven't mentioned a possible date for him to be discharged from the hospital; but I'm making sure that I spend time with him everyday, and I also promised him that I would be bringing over Alani as soon as possible."

"I think you should." Emma replied, "I think it would be good for Joe to see his daughter, too."

"I was planning to take her down there in the morning. I know he's been missing his daughter a lot."

"I'm just thankful that your husband is doing alright, Chloe. If you ever need me to babysit at any given time, please message me; and if I can't come and watch over Alani, I'm sure Fergal might have a free schedule here and there."

"I'd love to have him over. I'm sure someday my daughter will start calling him Uncle Fergal."

"Ha-Ha. I'd love that!" Emma chuckled, "I haven't heard from him in awhile. We message each other and call all the time, but I miss seeing him physically."

"I understand that struggle." I smiled, "How is Fergal?"

"He's doing pretty good. He's trying to get into a huge storyline and to elevate himself more than ever."

"I'm sure he can. He's amazing at what he does, along with Joe."

"I forgot to mention that I needed to head into work early in the morning. I wasn't able to come in today and they're starting to become a little too scrict with my schedule." She reeled me into a hug, "Are you gonna be okay?"

"I'll be alright, girl."

"Alright. I'll come and see you and Alani when I can!" She paused, "Oh, and please let me know how Joe is doing whenever you can. I'm worried about him a lot right now."

"I'll do that. Thank you for everything, Emma." I smiled.

After we said our goodbyes, it was just Joe's cousins and I all alone inside of the living room.

"Hey Uce. Can we crash in here for the night? We won't be a bother." Jonathan asked.

"You're more than welcome to spend the night! We have guest bedrooms and the fridge has plenty of food if you three happen to get hungry."

"Bet. I can't thank you enough for loving our cousin unconditionally, Chloe." Josh smiled.

"Of course! I love him so much and I'm gonna see him in the morning and I'm taking our daughter, too."

"That works. Goodnight, Chloe!"

Everyone went to sleep for the night and before I did, I peeked inside of Alani's bedroom and I watched as her and Zeus were sound asleep. I didn't want to wake either one of them up and made my way back to the bedroom to get some rest.

The following morning, I woke up and I happened to notice that Jonathan and Josh were cooking some Samoan breakfast meals and it smelled delicious!

"What are you guys cooking?"

"Panikeke."

"That's actually my favorite!"

"Joe cooks this for you?" Jonathan asked.

"Yeah! He introduced me to it two-years-ago and it's delicious!"

After they quickly finished up on cooking breakfast for all of us, I warmed up a bottle of milk and heard Alani crying out for my attention. I went upstairs and brought her downstairs to meet her uncles.

"Aww, here comes our little neice!" Jonathan cooed.

"Man, she looks just like you and Joe combined. She's adorable, Uce!" Josh flashed a smile.

Alani was scared of her uncles at first, but eventually warmed up to them after awhile. After a few hours passed, we prepared to take Alani with us to visit Joe in the hospital. I was still worried about him after everything that transpired, but I knew without a doubt that my husband was a fighter.

It didn't take the five of us long to arrive over to the Toronto General Hospital to see Joe. After thirty-minutes, we stepped towards the front office and walked over to Joe's hospital room.

After I opened the door, I carried Alani inside of her handheld baby carrier and noticed that Joe's eyes began to slowly flutter open and he started to warmly smile at the sight of his little family coming to visit him in the hospital.

"There's my two favorite girls."

"Hey babe!" I smiled, "How are you feeling?"

"A lot better, actually. I'm hoping that everything goes to plan and I heal faster than ever. I miss being at home with you and our daughter."

"We missed you too, Joe." I say as we both look down at the baby carrier to seeing Alani laying inside, "And I brought our little girl to come and see you, too."

"Can I see our daughter?" He asked.

"Of course, babe."

I sat the baby carrier down and picked up Alani, bringing her close to Joe's embrace. His smile went from ear-to-ear upon seeing our daughter.

"Hey sweetheart. Daddy's going to be okay, ou te folafola atu. I know you're scared, but I'm coming home soon and when I do, we'll spend all day together and maybe I'll take you and mommy out to Disneyland. How does that sound, Princess?"

"You're an amazing father to our little girl, Joe." I flashed a smile.

"And those bastards thought that they could take me out?" He scoffed, "I ain't going anywhere. I know you and our daughter needed me here." His smile faded, "Oh, and baby?"

"What's up?" I asked, seeing Joe's facial expression growing worried after everything that's happened. The last thing he ever wanted to do was make me worry about him.

"I'm sorry for scaring you like that when you first seen me in this state. I know I made you cry the other night when the heart monitor stopped, and I..."

I interrupted, "Babe, don't apologize. I'm just grateful that you're alive."

"Me too, babe." He smiled, "I love you."

"I love you too."

Joe brought Alani closer to his shoulder and the precious bond between a father and his daughter was the sweetest. I already knew that Alani would always depend on Joe to protect her and that he'd scare off the boys for her once she started her teenage years. She was really his pride and joy. He loved knowing that he was finally a father and he was more than determined to always make sure that she had the life she truly deserved.

We spent the entire day talking with each other and making sure that Joe was feeling better. He was still groaning in pain from the bullet wounds, but he was the happiest man alive to have his family right there with him; along with his three cousins at his side.
