"I cannot believe that Joe's about to head into surgery." Jonathan said as he started to eat a small bag of chips at the hospital's cafeteria.

"Me either." I sighed, "I almost thought Joe was gone completely."

"What do you mean by that?" Josh asked.

"Well, his heart had stopped for over thirty-seconds before he miraculously pulled through and started breathing again. It's a miracle, really; but I was almost on the verge of breaking down and screaming if he died."

"I understand that, Uce." Jonathan replied, "Listen, our cousin is a fighter. He's battled through so much and he's still pulling through."

"I see what you mean." I replied.

We proceeded to eat the rest of our food inside of the cafeteria before sitting outside the room and waiting to hear some updates regarding Joe's surgery.

After two hours passed, one of the doctors came out and approached the four of us with bloody gloves, a surgical mask, and the normal surgery outfit.

"We have some good news, and some bad news."

"What's the bad news?" I asked, feeling anxious upon asking the question.

The surgeon looked at me with a look of concern, "The bad news is that he needs to stay in the hospital for awhile longer. The good news is that the surgery went well and that you should be able to come and visit him later in the night."

"That's such a relief!" I say, "What all happened with my husband?"

"Like we said before, he experienced multiple bullets to the chest and it was a miracle that it didn't shoot towards his heart; otherwise, he would have died instantly. However, we examined his ribs and one was broken, and another was bruised from the impact."

"I'm glad you guys can get this resolved. I was worried about his life at first."

"Trust me, Mrs. Anoa'i, we've never once had a patient who fought so hard to stay alive before."

After a couple of hours had passed, we were able to step into Joe's room. He was finally awake after the surgery and I couldn't wait to see him again aftert worrying for hours on end for his health and safety.

When I opened the door, Joe's head turned and he started to flash a small smile upon seeing me.

"Baby..." Joe groaned, "Is everything okay?"

I nodded, "Yeah."

"I'm so sorry that I almost died out there. I remember telling you the story about Dante and his henchmen that were after me. If it wasn't for me killing all of them, they would've went after you and Alani. I just..."

Joe started to groan out in pain and fell back into his bed with his hand around his chest after the surgery.

"Joe, please calm down." I say, running my hand through his messy hair, "They can't bother us anymore."

"Yeah, you're right." He started to cough, "Was my surgery a success, babe?"

"It was, thankfully."

"What did they say?"

"Well, you have one broken rib and some are bruised. They said that if the bullets went through your heart, you would've died instantly."

"Thank God that I'm still alive." He attempted a smile and looked over at me, "I couldn't ask for a better wife."

"I want you to get your rest, babe. I promise that I'll bring Alani to come and see you."

"I'd love that, but who's watching our daughter? My cousins? Emma? My mother?"

"Emma's watching over Alani for awhile. She doesn't know the full story right now, but I was going to tell her when I went back home for awhile."

"That's fine with me, Chloe." He continued to look at me with the same smile on his face from before, "I don't want to upset you babe, but I want to get some rest for awhile."

"I understand, Joe. I'm not upset at all!" I reassured him, "Please, I insist. I want you to get some sleep and I'll bring Alani over to see you as soon as possible."

"I'd love nothing more." He flashed a smile before closing his eyes.

After leaving his hospital room, I was met with his three cousins who looked at me with concern.

"Chloe, can we talk for a second?" Josh asked.

"Yeah, sure." I paused, "What's up?"

"How's our cousin doing?" Asked Joseph.

"He's doing okay. He wanted to rest and I left him alone for awhile."

"That's good that he's resting and all, but what all happened to him? Do you know anything?" Josh asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do."

I walked alongside his cousins down the hallway and decided to explain everything to them all at once. They weren't around when everything unfolded, and I felt like right now was as good as ever to tell them everything.

"This is going to be a long explanation that I'm gonna tell you three, but this all will stay between us, right?" I asked.

They all nodded in agreement and I needed a moment to compose myself with small breathing excercises.

"Last year, Joe and I were dealing with so much when it came to people attempting to either split us apart, trying to murder the both of us, and much worse." I paused, "This all started with a man named Dante. He was a bloodthirsty hitman who was hired to kill Joe and I. And funny thing is, we know exactly who hired the hit, too."

"Who?"

"Believe it or not, it was Galina; and my ex-boyfriend, Joshua."

"No...Joe's ex-wife?" Jonathan's eyes widened, "What the hell?"

I nodded, "The hitman who tried to kill us admitted to it, too. What makes things worse is that our two ex-lovers somehow met and plotted to kill us both. But things worsened after Joe had shot and killed Dante. Galina and Joshua were quick to find out later on about what happened and were sat out to come after Joe and I. It was after last year's WrestleMania after Joe proposed to me, we met up and talked with Brock Lesnar for awhile the day after the show before we headed back home. And to our surprise, they stalked and found us when we were out driving."

"This is some fucked up shit, Uce." Jonathan exclaimed, "Can the bitch not take rejection and knowing when to leave somebody alone?"

"Apparently not." I shook my head, "But my explanation doesn't end from there, guys. We almost crashed into their cars; but with Joe being an excellent driver on the road, we stopped just in time. It wasn't long until I heard my ex-boyfriend's voice again after he stepped out of his vehicle, approaching us. He approached Joe and I with this huge sinister smile on his face, like he was ready and out for blood."

"And what happened from there, Chloe?" Joseph asked.

"After Joe finally met the one man who abused me, his eyes were locked onto Joshua. I've never seen his facial expression look so cold and full of hatred for someone. He bumped chests with him and while Joshua was starting to tense up with anxiety, he shouted out for Galina to step out from the vehicle and when she did, Joe's eyes began to widen after realizing that they were both in on this plan to kill us." I paused, "There was a ton of confrontation happening between the four of us. Joe leaned over towards my ear and whispered for me to get one of his revolvers out from the glovebox of his Range Rover; after doing so, they both admitted to being the ones who hired the hit on us right after we heard it from the source. Telling us that Dante was nothing but a moron and that he couldn't get the job done because we weren't dead. Fast forward, a brawl broke out between all of us. Galina was cornering me and Joshua couldn't fight with Joe because his punches were weak and Joe busted him open with one punch to the face. Later on, Joe went to threaten Joshua that he was going to take his life for the way he treated me; and while he thought it was funny, he pulled the trigger and from there, he was dead. Blood was everywhere."

"Damn!" All three of Joe's cousins said in unison.

"And that's not all, I watched as Joe stood in front of Galina and he looked infuriated with her. I've never seen Joe so enraged before until then. After calling the police and watching as she went straight to jail, I started noticing that my body wasn't feeling right, and..." I paused.

The thought of that moment being the moment I miscarried Joe and I's firstborn child brought tears to my eyes. Jonathan sat me down on a nearby bench after we left the hospital and brought me into his embrace, "Hey now, are you alright?"

"No, not really." I sniffled, "It's just that moment is something that will forever traumatize me."

"If you don't mind me asking, how come?"

"Remember when I was pregnant when you guys first met me back in Pensacola?"

"Oh." He replied, "I'm so sorry for asking, but did you..."

"Miscarry? Yes." I dropped my head, "Because of them."

"Damn, I cannot apologize enough." Jonathan apologized.

"There's no need to apologize, guys."

"We know, but that doesn't change the fact that they caused that to happen to you both." Joseph added.

"I know." I replied, "I have to head back to my house to check on Alani. I have Emma over at the house and watching her for awhile."

"That's fine with us, Uce." Josh says, "Want us to take you home?"

"I'd love that. Thank you."

"No problem. It's the least we could do."

We all four stepped into Jonathan's Corvette and made our way back to the house.
