88.

When it was finally time to get some rest for the night, Joe and I were starting to feel exhausted after everything that's transpired over the past few days. WrestleMania, the birth of Alani, and the long-awaited trip back to Toronto.

Later in the night, Joe and I tucked Alani into her blanket and hoped for the best that she'd sleep for the rest of the night. We installed a small baby monitor around our nightstand in case she were to wake up and needed our assitance.

I couldn't help but to notice that Joe looked very exhausted in the face over the past few days. His beard was ruffled along with his hair, and he was more than ready to get some asleep, as was I.

Joe groaned, "I really hope I can get some rest tonight. I love our daughter so much, but I hope she sleeps for the rest of the night. I've been on my toes for a couple of days and I need to rest my eyes as much as possible, babe."

"I understand. We can only hope for the best, Joe." I leaned down and pressed my lips against his, "Goodnight, babe."

"Goodnight." He replied with a yawn, before resting his eyes.

Joe
It was a good few hours of getting our well-deserved rest, until the baby monitor alerted us that Alani was in her bedroom and crying nonstop.

I knew that Chloe was probably more exhausted than I was when it came to taking care of our daughter; and I was more than glad to take care of Alani while Chloe was asleep underneath the blankets. I could tell that her body was still slightly sore after giving birth not too long ago, and I didn't want her to overwork herself.

I stepped out from the bed and walked over to Alani's bedroom and when I opened the door, I seen her laying inside of her crib and she was starting to sob uncontrollably. Thankfully, I made sure that there was an area on the table that had a bottle of milk and sat down on the small wicker chair next to the crib.

I scooped up Alani into my embrace and sat down with her in the chair while attempting to feed her the warm bottle of milk. She refused to drink; and I sat the bottle back on the table before making my gaze over at my daughter, who was still crying in my arms.

It was still hard to fathom that I was finally a father. It was a little stressful at first with the lack of sleep, but I didn't mind. I was still new to the road of fatherhood; I had little-to-no experience on everything. But yet, I felt like I had this connection with my daughter; like I had to protect her from the world and the evil all around it.

"Shhh, Daddy's here, now." I said in a soft voice, "Don't be scared."

I brought Alani into my arms and rested her near my shoulder. While she still continued to sob a little, I started to notice that she had calmed down after a few minutes until she fell back asleep. Silence filled the bedroom and I couldn't help but to crook a smile at how precious she was. My eyes began to water out of emotion that I was finally a father and brought me nothing but happiness.

I waited a few minutes before gently placing her back in the crib, tucking her in, and making sure that everything was peaceful and quiet before I went back to the bedroom for the night. I was tired to the point I was noticing dark circles underneath my eyes. I felt groggy and couldn't wait to lay back in the bed for the night.

I crawled underneath the covers and wrapped my arms around Chloe and brought her closer into my embrace, allowing my chin to rest around her shoulder while I closed my eyes for the night. Although I fell asleep for the night, I was able to get my normal hours of sleep in before waking up the following morning.

I rolled over and noticed that Chloe was still asleep. I knew she needed some time to rest and pressed my lips against her cheek while she was asleep. While I silently left the bedroom, I went to check on Alani and to my surprise, she was asleep as well.

I walked downstairs and started to cook some breakfast for everyone while warming up Alani's bottle of milk in the meantime.

I didn't feel like getting into my casual clothes and stood in front of the oven with my boxer shorts on, followed up with a plain black tank-top and my hair tied back into a low bun.

I started off making some Panikeke and then some other breakfast meals before I heard a voice emerge from upstairs, "Joe?"

Chloe grabbed my attention and I looked back to seeing her coming down the stairs. She looked stunning in her light pink and white-striped Victoria's Secret pajamas; and seeing a smile on her face already brightened up my morning.

"Good morning, babe. What are you cooking?" She asked.

"The simple Samoan breakfast meals, and I warmed up the bottle of milk for Alani."

She smiled, "You're such an amazing father, Joe."

"And you're an amazing mother." I paused, looking down at the Panikeke on the frying pan, "Last night, Alani was crying a lot and I stayed with her for awhile so she'd fall back asleep; because I didn't want you to overwork yourself."

"That's so sweet of you." She replied, "You look really tired."

I shook my head, "Nah, not really. I managed to still get some sleep and everything. I went to check on our daughter this morning and she was still asleep in her crib; so I didn't want to wake her up just yet."

"I understand. She's a handful, that's for sure."

We both chuckled and I looked at Chloe with a warm smile on my face.

"You look beautiful, baby."

"You think so?" She asked, "Even after I just gave birth?"

"Even after you gave birth. You're always stunning in my book." I replied, looking down at her body and then gazing into her eyes, "Very stunning, baby."

I took a small break from cooking our breakfast and pressed my lips against hers with passion; my hands wandered down to her waist as I pulled her closer towards my chest.

"Joe..."

"What's up, baby?"

"I love when you do that."

"Do what?" I flashed a smile, "This?"

My hands trailed down and wrapped around the sides of her inner thighs and her breath began to hitch. Before things could escalate between us, Alani woke up from her sleep and started to scream out and cry.

"It looks like the baby is awake."

"Luckily for you two, I already finished making breakfast."

"I'm gonna bring her down to the kitchen, Joe."

"Alright, beautiful."

I finished off the Panikeke and placed them on Chloe and I's plates, sitting them on the table. After I started to sit down in my chair, Chloe was already coming down the stairs with Alani in her embrace.

"Well, good morning to two of the most important girls in my life." I warmly smiled, "I made us some Panikeke, with a touch of bacon and eggs; and for our little girl, I warmed up her milk and made sure that Zeus was fed, too."

"Thank you, Joe." She says, "I don't want you to overwork yourself, too."

"I won't."

We started off having some breakfast and needed to find a TV show to occupy Alani while we contacted our friends about the baby already being here. We haven't spoken to anyone ever since WrestleMania, and I think they were beginning to grow concerned at our abscense.

"I think I found a show that Alani will enjoy."

"What's that?"

"It's some show called Bluey. I heard it's a cute little cartoon that kids seem to enjoy."

"At least if it's not any of that Cocomelon bullshit, then I'm fine with that." I laughed.

Chloe and I turned on the show and sat Alani down on the floor and watched her face light up at the sight of a cute, blue-looking dog named Bluey appear on the screen.

"Alright, I think she's distracted. Let's hurry and contact everyone the big news."

"That sounds good with me."

We pulled out our phones and started telling all of our friends and co-workers about the big news of our daughter's arrival for the next half-hour. Alani was focused on the TV and it was a breath of fresh air for awhile.

The first person Chloe called was none other than Emma.

"Emma! I have amazing news."

"Hey girl! I'm assuming that you and Joe already had the baby?"

"Yeah! I went into labor right after WrestleMania. Joe had to rush me into the hospital and we're wanting to invite everyone to come and meet our little girl in a few days when everything is more situated."

"Girl, you know that Fergal and I are coming to meet her."

"I can't wait to see you guys soon! It's been a hectic journey so far."

"I'm sure it has been. We'll see you guys in a few days!"

After Emma hung up, I called Colby, Jon, Josh, Jonathan, Joseph, and everyone else to announce the news. Chloe and I were more than excited for everyone to meet our daughter in the next couple of days.
