55.

When morning approached, Chloe and I both sat up from the bed and she didn't hesitate to check on me after the nightmare I endured last night.

She turned over to me and gently wrapped a strand of my hair around her finger.

"Joe, did you manage to sleep a little better last night?"

I scratched my beard, "Somewhat."

"Were you unable to sleep at all after that nightmare?"

"I fell asleep, but I cannot help but to wonder what that nightmare was all about."

"Me too. I'm not sure what happened in it, but I'm here for you, Joe. I love you."

"I love you too, Chloe."

We stood up and began to pack our belongings for our flight back to Toronto. In the process of packing, we had Jonathan, Josh and Joseph enter the bedroom.

"Hey Uce! What's good?"

"What's good? Nothing, man." I scoffed.

Jonathan's eyebrow raised in confusion when Joe's demeanor had changed, "Yo Uce. What's wrong?"

Chloe looks back at Jonathan and said, "He wasn't able to sleep as much last night."

"How come? Uce always sleeps like a baby."

"Wellβ€”Not this time." Chloe says.

"I had a small nightmare and I don't wanna talk about it."

"It's understandable. I get those too sometimes and it's not all fun and games." Jonathan replied.

"Hey Jon, I don't want to come off as rude, but we're gonna get to packing our belongings for the next hour and we need some time to ourselves." Chloe said.

"Ain't no disrespect, we'll be in the kitchen waiting on you two lovebirds!" He says with a smile.

After Jonathan had walked out, we departed from our bed and I tied my hair into a low bun and washed off my face in cold water in the bathroom.

Returning to the bedroom, Chloe was packing some of our clothes and belongings into the suitcase until I stepped in.

"Hey, you're pregnant and you can't be bending over like that."

She sighed, "I know, I know."

I pulled her close to me from behind while my hands were trailed down to her stomach. Chloe was beginning to form a small baby bump and I warmly smiled at the sight of it.

"Don't worry, babe. I know you're new to this whole pregnancy thing and so am I, but I don't want you to end up bending over because it could hurt our baby."

"I promise I'll let you take care of the packing." She said.

"You swear?"

"I swear."

I pressed my lips against hers and picked up our clothes, throwing them into the suitcase and then we prepared to sit down for breakfast before we returned home later on in the day.

Coming down the stairs, my cousins were more than excited to see me as they shouted, "Uce! You almost missed it."

"Missed what?"

"Look at this whole Samoan entrΓ©e that your ma laid out for us before we all head back home."

"This looks delicious!" I said.

"It looks delicious." Chloe says, turning to me, "I don't think we've had Samoan food like this before!"

"It's my mother's favorite to cook for us. She always does this before we leave home for awhile."

"Oh? Mind if I try a bite?"

"Of course, sweetheart!" My mother says, "Eat as much as you'd like before your trip back home."

I watched as Chloe dug into the chicken and vegetables while I done the same. My mother always cooked the best Samoan foods and I couldn't wait to introduce this delicacy to our child once they're born.

After a couple of hours had passed, we all said our goodbyes and drove over to the airport. When we made it, I was stopped by my cousins.

"We'll see you later at work, Uce?" Josh asked.

"Definitely. Take care, you three!"

Jonathan, Josh and Joseph all three boarded their flight back home; whereas Chloe and I began to board our eight-hour flight back home from Pensacola to Toronto.

Sitting down in the chair, I watched as Chloe pulled out her phone and called Emma.

"Hey, girl! How's Pensacola?"

"It went well, but we're heading back home right now and that means you can head back to work." She paused, "How was Zeus?"

"Zeus was such a little angel! He didn't make a mistake in the house and he was calm the entire time. Given that he's a puppy, I'm surprised that he didn't teethe around the furniture or anything when I went to shower."

"He's such a good boy. He's definitely getting spoiled once we're back home in eight hours." I smiled.

"Damn, it takes you guys that long to get from there to here?"

"Yeah." She replied, "I don't mind the flight at all and it's on Joe's private jet so we don't have to deal with screaming kids or creeps in general!"

"I understand that. Just let me know when you guys get off to the airport and I'll come pick you both up. Is that alright?"

"Sure!"

After Chloe hung up the phone, she laid back on her neck pillow and relaxed the entire flight back home. She looked peaceful and content as her eyes began to close as she drifted off to sleep for awhile.

Chloe
Joe was very protective over me ever since I announced the pregnancy to him not too long ago and his family adored me from the moment they met me. Life seemed like a fairytale with a horror plot-twist in between.

While we landed back in Toronto, I called Emma and she already made it to the airport within two minutes. She was always a fast driver and that was always my biggest concern about her.

"Hey, Chloe!"

"Hey! I missed you so much, girl."

"I missed you too!"

Joe brought our luggage off from the private jet and greeted Emma with a hug.

"Hey, Emma. Thank you so much for watching over the house and our puppy." He smiled, then took out his wallet.

The amount of money that he gave to Emma was shocking. Five-thousand-dollars; just as he said awhile back before our trip to Pensacola, Florida.

"J-Joe!" She stuttered, "You were serious?"

He nods, "Yeah. It's the least I could do for you since you kept everything safe and well-taken care of."

"This means a lot to me, really. I can finally pay off one of my overdue bills!"

"Overdue bills?" He asks, "What was the bill?"

"Oh nothing, it's just rent and car insurance."

"Ah, well I hope that I gave you enough for both. Chloe and I will always be here to help you when you need it the most."

"Thanks Roman...I mean, Joe."

"No problem and you can still call me by my stage name if that makes things easier."

"Sure thing!"

"Hey Emma, when can we get back home? It's been eight-hours since I've been able to fully rest and relax myself."

"We can right now!"

We all three got inside of the car and made it back at the house within minutes. Upon returning, Zeus was running on all fours and his paw was fully healed as he greeted us with his tongue out, panting from excitement.

"Aww, hey buddy! We missed you!"

I held Zeus close to me and he started to lick our faces. Then he looked down and was gentle around my stomach and laid down in my lap.

"Dogs can sense pregnancy?" Joe asked, cocking an eyebrow.

"I believe so. He was super affectionate before I even told you back then when Jon and Renee went home."

"Ah, that makes sense. He's a smart little pup; that's for sure."

Joe didn't want me to lift the luggage up the stairs or struggle and I watched as he lifted everything upstairs and into our bedroom while I sat on the couch with Emma and cuddled up with Zeus.
