Joe
I was shocked after everything that happened. Even my cousins stood there in shock, not saying a word. Ultimately, I've never seen Chloe become so enraged to where she ended my ex-wife's life. But could you blame her?
Chloe was looking down at the lifeless body as she started to fall down to her knees after everything that unfolded. She looked like she was close to fainting on the spot. Thankfully, we were all quick enough to lift her up from the ground and brought her towards the stairs.
"Are you okay, Chloe?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'm just shaken up after everything." She says, looking over at the pool of blood from a few feet away that was all around the flooring, "What do you propose we do, guys?"
With my three cousins still being in shock after what they witnessed, Josh broke the silence and crouched down towards Chloe.
"Hey Uce." He knelt down, "Look, I know you're probably feeling guilty about what just happened, but this ain't your fault. She had it coming with the way she acted; and the way she treated our 'cuz, Uce. You both went through a lot of hardship because of her and that other bastard, but we love you and we support you, alright?"
"I love you too, Josh." She looked up, "But how did you know that I was feeling guilty about killing Galina?" She asked, "I know that I hated that bitch so much, but the fact I took someone's life makes me feel like a cold-blooded murderer."
"Chloe, you're like my little sister, Uce. We all wouldn't let someone harm you; and I know you feel like a murderer, but again, this isn't your fault. After everything she put you two through, we can't blame you for snapping."
"Yeah, Chloe. We all have our breaking points and she had it coming after everything she's done." Jonathan said, "We love you and you're family."
"He's right." Joseph added, "I'm glad you took that bitch out because I've hated her ever since she came into Joe's life. She caused him so much pain and heartache to where we all grew to have a hatred towards her over a course of time."
"And we're all glad that you're okay, baby." I said.
"You guys are the best!" Chloe stands up and we all reel each other in for a group hug, "I feel like I have three protective brothers and a husband that loves me unconditionally." She says as the tears began to well-up in her eyes.
"We're here for you. Don't feel bad about this for a second, Uce." Josh says.
"Now that you think about it; no, I don't feel bad. I know she deserved what was coming to her because of the things she said and her actions, too. The fact she was taking pride in what she did to cause that miscarriage was the last straw."
"She really deserved that, baby." I say, holding her in my embrace, "We're gonna be okay."
The entire evening was composed of getting rid of the body and focusing on Chloe the entire time. Although she seemed at ease after the whole ordeal was said and done, she still looked a little flustered in the face. Not even a few minutes later after coming back from the bathroom, she was sitting on the couch with Josh; and while he tried to talk to her, she was beginning to well-up with tears.
"Josh, is she alright?" I asked, approaching them.
"Yeah Uce." He replied, "She's just a little shaken up still about killing Galina and because she's worried about what her parents and unborn child in Heaven think of her."
I paused for a moment and looked over at my cousin, "Can you give us a moment, Uce?"
"Yeah, man. I'll be over there with my brothers on the couch for awhile."
I brought Chloe's hand in mine, escorting her outside towards the balcony and she looked at me with desparity, and a face that was written in guilt.
"Joe, I feel like my parents and our unborn child are all upset with me up there."
My voice lowered, "What makes you think that, baby?"
"For starters, I murdered someone. Second, I'm worried that you're going to see me as some monster for doing what I did."
"Baby." I paused, looking down at the railing, "Come here."
She walked over towards me and I brought her close into my embrace, "You know, they're still proud of you up there. I know that deep down, there's a lot of guilt inside your head; but don't let any of those negative thoughts consume you, baby. Take it from me, Chloe, I've killed people like Dante, those army of henchmen of his, and your ex-boyfriend; but I don't have any guilt." I paused, "And before you ask me why I have no remorse, it's because they were nothing but trouble. I know it's different on your end, but I ain't going anywhere honey. I don't see you as a monster, I see a woman that is brave and not afraid of anything." I flashed a smile.
I looked in her eyes as they were still full of sorrow, I lifted her chin with my thumb and pressed my lips against hers, "I love you so much, Chloe."
"I love you too, Joe." She replied with a smile that was starting to form on her face.
"There's that beautiful smile."
We stayed silent for roughly five minutes as we took in the nightly scenery that was around us. We looked up at the stars that were shining bright and the crescent moon's light was beaming down on our skin from afar.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
"It really is, Joe."
"Although the scenery is indeed beautiful, you're the most beautiful woman I've ever laid my eyes on." I warmly smiled, "Remember when we first met that night? God, that was one of the best moments of my life."
"That was the best moment of my life, too." She smiled, "I always thought that I was just going to get Emma's autographs from Colby and Fergal and then resume back to my normal lifestyle. Never once did I think that I was going to fall in love with someone that I just met, especially someone who worked in the WWE."
"I never thought I'd love a woman so much in my life. I know everything's been a rocky road for the both of us, but there is one thing that I can definitely say."
"And what's that?"
"That marrying you was the best decision I've ever made."
"Really?" She asked with a smile and her eyes beginning to well-up with emotion.
"Yeah and having Alani was another beautiful moment between us. I'm so thankful that we're married, baby." I paused, "I was always afraid that this whole situation with my ex-wife was going to cause issues within our relationship, but I'm glad that you still stayed with me through it all. I was terrified that you would've up and left me because of her."
"I would never leave you over things like that, Joe. I was just more than thankful to have you in my life. I mean, you're an amazing husband, and the best father in the entire world to our daughter. I couldn't ask for a better man in my life."
"And I couldn't ask for a better woman in my life, Chloe. I'm so blessed that I met you that night." I chuckled, "I know I was on my flirty shit with you in the beginning, but I already knew what I wanted the night we met."
She turns to look over at me with a smile, "Oh?"
"I mean that. I was scared of rejection after that divorce of mine was finalized, but to know that you felt the same for me made me the happiest man alive." I paused, "You know, it feels like fate brought us together. I mean, we both were dealing with toxic people and now that they're both dead, I feel like we're finally gonna have our happy ending, huh?"
"I feel like we will too, Joe."
I brought her closer into my embrace and I rested my chin against her shoulder.
I wrapped my arms around her waist from behind, "Whenever the time is right, would you want more kids?"
"I haven't really thought about that, but I'd love nothing more." She paused, "But that's a long ways away, Joe."
"I can wait." I laughed, "I'm just fucking with you for now, but how are you feeling?"
"I feel a lot better because you're here with me."
"That's my girl." I say, passionately pressing my lips against hers.
Later the following night, my cousins stayed over inside of the guest rooms and Alani was peacefully asleep inside of her crib; in the meantime, I was enjoying the fact that Chloe was starting to feel cheerful once again after everything that happened earlier.
I never once seen her as a monster for killing my ex-wife. In fact, I seen her as a woman who was strong, independent, brave, and an amazing mother to our daughter. She was without a doubt the woman of my dreams.
Before I fell asleep for the night with her laying next to me in the bed, I turned over on the bed and caught her already asleep. She looked so peaceful and content. I couldn't help but to look at her with the warmest smile on my face, knowing that I made the right decision on marrying her and knowing that was the mother to our daughter. An amazing mother, at that.
However, I had an idea in mind that involved us getting away for awhile before having to head back to working on our careers. Thankfully, my mother was always more than willing to take care of our daughter while we went away for vacationing. I know that Chloe will be excited when she finds out where I'm planning on taking her.
