Chloe
After everything that has happened ever since we returned from Disneyland, I was out for blood when it came to Joe's ex-wife. She crossed the line when she suddenly found out where we lived; and not only was this borderline creepy, it was also her obsession with Joe that made things feel eerie.
When I awoken from my slumber, I happened to notice that Joe wasn't in the bedroom. Concerned, I walked into the living room to seeing Joe sitting there in frustration all alone. I've never seen him in this state of mind unless he was enraged.
The room was silent until I took a seat next to Joe, who still looked frustrated in the face.
"I hate that bitch so much." He said.
"I know you do. I hate her, too."
When it comes to Joe. His past relationship with Galina wasn't remotely close to healthy. She always wanted what she could get out of him. Money, materialistic things, a luxury lifestyle. She never truly loved Joe like she claimed to. She just loved the idea of having someone that she could mooch off from and because he refused to stay with her, she devoted her life into making not just his life a living hell, but the both of ours.
Our morning was full of silence and nothing but frustration towards one person. While we were still silent, all three of Joe's cousins came into the house.
"Hey, man. We heard what happened." Josh says.
"Yeah, and she's gonna get what's coming to her, too." I say.
"What do you mean, Uce?" Jonathan asked.
"The next time I see her, I'm confronting her and I don't care who's in my way. Joe already understands where I'm coming from, and I'm just over it!"
"Hey, we don't wanna see you get arrested, Chloe." Josh said, "You two have a baby together and Alani needs her parents."
"I know," I looked down and started to feel defeated, "But after everything that's happened over the past two-years, I'm fed up, Josh!"
"I mean, I did tell her that she'd be capable of whooping her ass awhile back." Joseph said.
"And he's right. I don't want to stand here and allow her to continue this behavior. It's creepy, disturbing, and obsessive."
"We understand, Uce. We just don't..."
Suddenly, we could hear Alani's cries from afar as we charged upstairs and into her bedroom. Alani screamed out like she was in distress.
When we busted through the door, all five of us couldn't believe what we were seeing. Galina had broken into Alani's bedroom window from upstairs and she was trying her hardest to pick up Alani as she continued to scream out in terror.
"Look at what we have here." She chuckled, "I see that you two had a baby together. Adorable! Something that Joe would never give me." Her eyebrows furrowed.
"Maybe because I felt like you weren't the right woman for me, Galina."
"Cute. Because the last time I checked, didn't you tell me a couple of years ago that you wanted to have a baby with me, Joe?"
"That was in the past when we were in college. We ain't in our twenties anymore. I'm asking you to get out of our house or there will be severe consequences."
"Why would I do that?" She asked, "You and Chloe don't deserve this baby."
Galina attempted to grab up Alani as she continued to scream out.
"Get the fuck away from my baby!" I shouted.
"Why? So you and Joe can return to your little fairytale ending?" She teased, "That's not going to happen, Chloe."
Joe snagged Alani from his ex-wife's grasp and I started to see red. Upon her saying that, I threw Galina down the stairs as Jonathan and Josh tried holding me back. I kicked around until they had no choice but to let me go. The loud shouting that emerged all throughout the house caused Zeus to start barking uncontrollably from the outside.
"Yo, Uce!" Jonathan shouted, "She wants you to do this to her, Chloe! It's a part of her tactics!"
"I don't care about what this bitch wants." I laughed, "She ain't shit."
While she was lying on the ground and still trying to process what just happened, I rushed into one of my pockets from the bedroom and pulled out a switchblade. I continued to have flashbacks of the times where she caused my miscarriage, treated Joe poorly in the past, and now tried to kidnap our daughter to where I was blinded by rage.
Everybody else was standing around the stairs with concern written all over their faces while Joe continued to hold Alani in his arms.
"What's wrong, Chloe? You look like you're zoning out." She chuckled.
Before I knew it, she threw a punch towards my nose to where it started to bleed.
"Aw, what's wrong? Are you gonna cry about it like a little bitch?" She teased.
I threw her down to the ground once more, and brought out my switchblade, slashing her arm.
"You fucking bitch!" Galina winced in pain, "You cut me!"
"I'm gonna do a lot more than just that if you don't get the fuck out in my house."
She scoffed, "Or what? Are you gonna kill me in your nice, luxury home?"
"Even if I did, it'd be an easy clean-up process." I replied, making her eyes meet with mine, "When it comes to my husband and my daughter, I want you to leave them the fuck alone. You were the reason my firstborn child was miscarried. You and my abuser teamed-up together to kill us! I never liked you, Galina. You put my husband through hell two-years-ago before you two divorced; and I will never forgive you for everything you've done to us."
Galina started laughing at me, "Are you trying to sound brave? That's so adorable! I don't understand why Joe decided to tie the knot with some trashy whore!"
Zeus' barking started to grow louder as he knew that there was a stranger inside of his home and around his family. He somehow found his way inside; charging towards Galina and began attacking her while she screamed out in agony.
"Get the fuck off of me, you stupid mutt!" She says, kicking Zeus.
"My dog is nowhere close to being a mutt!"
She chuckled, "Hey, boy. Don't you remember who I am?"
Zeus looked over at her with his teeth beginning to show wider as his growls started to grow more louder. I was confused as to what she was talking about until I suddenly remembered how Joe and I first met Zeus. It wasn't long after Joe and I had moved into this house, and a puppy approached us with a hurting paw; and the veternarian said that somebody caused the injury. Now I knew exactly who hurt our dog. It was her. He must've remembered the way she treated him back when he was a small puppy and she must have dumped him close to our place. How she found out about our new home together? I'll never know.
"You motherfucker!" I shouted, "So you were the one who hurt my dog after all?"
"I most certainly did. He was a stupid mutt and he couldn't do anything right!"
"That's enough, Galina." Joe screamed out, "I want you out of here!"
Josh charged over towards us and held back Zeus while I continued to finish things off with Joe's ex-wife, "Chloe! She ain't worth it!"
"I'm not planning on leaving, baby." She scoffed, "I'm not scared; and if that means I have to kill your wife, then so be it."
Joe's eyes began to widen in terror after hearing those words from someone that he was once married to. Galina suddenly brought out a pistol from her jacket and she pointed the frame towards my forehead.
"Not so tough; are we, Chloe?"
"Joke's on you, Galina."
I quickly moved away from her range and managed to grab the pistol out from her hands, causing her eyes to widen in frieght. She looked like she had seen a ghost as she struggled to speak on her words.
"Aw, are you scared?" I asked.
She remained silent. A moment later, I watched as Joe handed Alani to Jonathan and Joseph and approached the both of us with furrowed eyebrows.
"Let me handle this, Chloe."
I stepped back for a moment and watched as Joe stood in front of the woman that he used to love unconditionally. He had a look of pure hatred for her while crossing his arms.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"Joe! I promise to be a better wife. We can ditch Chloe and the baby while we run off together and start a new life! I'll do everything you've always wanted me to do. I'll..."
Joe interrupted, "It ain't happening!"
She paused, "B-But Joe. I know I wasn't the best wife towards you, but I promise that I can..."
"I'm not leaving my wife and child for you, Galina." He huffed, "You are a thing of the past, and you've shown your true colors."
She scoffed, "Of course. And those goddamn henchmen couldn't even get the job done either. Just like Dante couldn't. Just like Joshua couldn't! It's all left on me!"
"You sent them out to kill us, didn't you?" Joe said, getting closer to Galina's face as he looked more furious with her by the minute.
"Yes, I did. And guess what, Joe? If I can't have you, then nobody can! Not even Chloe!" She laughed hysterically.
"What the fuck is going on, Uce?" Jonathan asked, "This ain't it, Galina. You're a fucked up person for wanting to intervene with their lives. What good is that? Why can't you just move on like any other sane person would do?"
"Because he was my college sweetheart. He was everything to me, Jonathan!"
"Not really, because I seen how you treated him Uce. You made him feel helpless and some days, our cousin didn't have motivation to hit the gym, hang out with us, or even eat anything. He always damn near drank himself to death to where he had to message Colby, or one of us, to take him back to the hotel so he didn't drive drunk! He was too busy trying to entertain your dumbass over those past few years. You now noticed that you lost out on a great man in life, and he's a lot happier than you'll ever be."
"Oh shut up, Jonathan. You think you know it all, don't you?"
"Are you fucking stupid or something?" Josh interrupted, "You have this mentality that you're always in the right and we're in the wrong. You got things twisted because I've seen how happier our cousin has been ever since Chloe stepped into his life. He was miserable when he was with you!" He shouted, "And you shouldn't be here either. You need to leave!"
Galina ignored what Joe's cousins were saying and she stepped up towards Joe, throwing a punch across the face as hard as she could and he looked down at her with disgust, "Was that supposed to hurt me?"
"I'll handle things from here, Joe."
I approached her with the frame towards her forehead, making Joe and his cousins back away.
"You don't think I'll pull the trigger? I'm not scared of you. I never was, and I never will be. It's either you leave and never return, or I'll kill you on sight and make everyone take my daughter upstairs while I handle business."
Joseph took Alani upstairs and made sure that she was laying inside of her crib before coming back out to watch what was transpiring right before his very eyes.
"You're such a jokester, Chloe!" She laughed, "You wouldn't kill me, right?"
I also crouched down and grabbed a handful of her hair, looking her dead in the eyes with my switchblade across her throat, "You must take me for a joke because I'm tired of people like you. Joshua is dead, and I'm not afraid to send you straight to Hell with him. You both have been nothing but torture to us; and you even admitted to abusing my dog!"
"Chloe! Don't do this to me!" She said with crocodile tears, "I'm sorry!"
"I don't believe you for a goddamn second."
"I...I really am!"
We stand up and I look her dead in the eyes without saying a word. I started to notice that she was reaching to grab my switchblade out from my hand until I stopped her in her tracks, "You're sorry, huh?"
"I swear I was just stretching out my hand, Chloe." She trembled, "Don't shoot me."
"That would be way too easy. You must've taken me for this soft-hearted woman in the beginning; but I've been through too much to deserve this kind of pain. You killed my firstborn child in the womb because of that miscarriage; all because of your jealousy with Joe being with me, I dealt with Joshua and his abuse for years, and I'm not going through anything else!"
A mere silence filled the room and then her eyes began to meet with mine, "You know what, Chloe? I'm glad you miscarried that little brat. You don't deserve to be a mother, and Joe doesn't deserve to be a father. I did you a favor and took it out of its misery!"
"What was that?" I asked, feeling my blood beginning to boil.
"You heard me, bitch."
I allowed my anger to get the best of me and I pulled the trigger. The bullet pierced through her and she fell to the ground. Joe and his three cousins stood there from afar with their hands covering their mouths in shock while Alani was in her bedroom, unable to see what her mother just did.
"I cannot believe you just..." Jonathan paused, "You killed her."
"Because she disrespected the child that I miscarried, her mistreatment towards Joe and I, and the fact she and my ex-boyfriend were trying to kill us both."
"And I can't blame you, Chloe." Joe added, "To hear that come from her mouth was downright evil. I've never heard anyone say that about someone who miscarried. To make matters worse, she was psychotic and obsessive towards me ever since the divorce." He sighed, "It's over now."
"I still can't believe what I witnessed, Chloe. Damn. None of us knew you had that side." Joseph added, "But you sure did beat her ass, though."
"I didn't know I did either, until she started running her mouth. I think I lost it when she said all of that about my one child that died because of her. I went through so much pain after the miscarriage and I hate remembering that time of my life."
"I understand, Uce." Josh said, "It's all love with us, now. I'm so sorry that you two went through so much chaos over the past two-years."
Everyone reeled me into their embrace while I started to feel weak after everything that just transpired. Joe's ex-wife pushed me to my limit, and I don't regret anything. I was still in distraught after remembering everything; then finding out that she was also the one who abused Zeus to where it made my blood boil once more. I was just more than thankful that Alani was upstairs and didn't have to see anything, and that Zeus was held back by Josh.
Maybe now, we'll finally have our happily ever after.
