03| Sin and tonic
You glance at the blonde man, your purple eyes narrowing slightly as you size him up. There's something strangely familiar about his confidence, yet also an odd sense of... disarray in the way he carries himself. But before you can get a full read on him, you focus on your own transformation. Human... It was a bit disorienting, the absence of wings, the lack of scales and claws. You stretch your hands in front of you, feeling the new weight of your body—something lighter, more fragile than you were used to, but still powerful.
"I didn't expect to be brought back like this..." you mutter to yourself under your breath, voice still rough, like it hadn't been used in years. You wonder what the voice meant by a "second chance." This world... it doesn't seem like the one you left behind. There's something... off about it.
The green-haired person—the one named Midoriya, you assume, considering the blonde's shout—pauses in his struggle with the fridge, glancing your way cautiously, clearly trying to figure out who you are. You decide it's best to give them something. You're not entirely sure what kind of person you should be in this world, but you are curious. Curious enough to see where this new path might lead.
You take a step forward, your gaze lingering on the blonde man who's now standing before you. He scratches his head awkwardly, clearly uncertain but attempting to be friendly.
"Hey there, young lady, uh, what can we do for you?" he asks, his voice booming with a warmth that feels strangely reassuring.
You exhale slowly, feeling the power hum inside you, the magic that still lingers in your veins, even if you don't yet understand its full extent in this form. Maybe this is the beginning of something bigger... maybe I should test the waters here.
"I... I'm not sure," you reply, your voice steady but carrying the faintest edge of confusion. "This world doesn't look like the one I remember. And I don't remember much of what's happened. But... I guess I have a second chance, so I need to figure out where I fit."
You glance back at Midoriya, who is still frozen in place, watching you with wide eyes. The energy between the two men seems to crackle—something about their presence makes you realize you're not dealing with ordinary humans. Not that you're quite sure what you are right now, either.
The blonde man, who had been watching you with a curious but warm smile, laughs lightly. "A second chance, huh? That's... pretty heavy. But hey, you've got that right. This world is full of second chances. I'm All Might, the number one hero. And this guy," he gestures toward the green-haired boy, "is Izuku Midoriya. We could always use some help around here, especially if you're looking for a place to stay."
All Might's booming voice carries through the air, but there's a kindness in it—something that makes you feel like maybe you can trust him. But there's still that feeling in your gut, like there's more to this world than meets the eye.
You glance down at your hands, feeling the faint pulse of power running through them, and wonder what exactly you've been brought here to do.
"I'm... still trying to figure things out," you say slowly, looking back at the fridge they're struggling with. "But... sure. I can help with that."
All Might grins, and even though he looks a bit awkward in this moment, his cheerful energy is contagious. "Great! Let's get this fridge moved first. And then, we can talk about your next steps."
You nod, taking a step toward them. As you do, the voice from before echoes again, more clearly this time: "This is it, Y/N. Your new beginning. Keep your eyes open."
And though you're still unsure of what the future holds, you can't help but feel the thrill of something big ahead. A second chance, a new world. And with the magic within you, you're certain you'll make your mark on this strange place.
