By the end of the day, Aspen and Jin were carrying around so many bags of clothes and shoes than Aspen could even comprehend what to do with. She hadn't thought out where she would store all these clothes. Her closet was only half full as she folds most of her clothes so maybe he could put it there. But that would mean he'd have to come into her room in order to get his clothes.
"You wasted such a good day on buying men's clothing and coffee grounds." Jin sighed with disappointment as he stuffed the bags into the truck of his car. They were supposed to go wine tasting just because they could, but Aspen figured that maybe getting the alien residing in her home the bare minimum he needed to survive was more important.
"Aww, isn't that too bad? You can always go shopping on your own." Aspen patted Jin's cheek, only for him to slap her hand away. "I'm still mad at you. Calling me old and shit. I really should've pushed you out into the road."
Aspen just grinned playfully and went around the car to get into the passenger seat whole Jin closed the trunk and got into the driver's seat. "You excited to see your cute, little boyfriend?" Jin teased, making Aspen scoff. "Stop it, he's not my boyfriend."
"The 20 bags of clothes and shoes in my trunk say otherwise, but whatever." Jin shrugged and Aspen leaned against door, rolling her eyes at her friend. Jin started up his car and turned out into the busy traffic of downtown, driving down the streets and slowly making his way back out of the city to get back to Aspen's house.
Jin hummed slightly to the music that played on the radio. He had a beautiful voice and was a good singer and he knew it, though he didn't sing often. And then his voice became even more powers and his eyes closed as he stopped at a red light. Aspen chuckled at his trying too hard and shook her head. "You are such an idiot."
"I wasn't before I met you. You've infected me." He told her with a sigh. "I was just a beautiful man, minding my own business when a lonely crackhead girl somehow became my best friend and then I slowly became a crackhead as well."
"What a beautiful life story." Aspen told him, causing Jin to burst out into joyous laughter. "It's more sad than anything really, depressing. I would have done great things without you."
They the joked and laughed for majority of the car ride, mostly because Jin's laugh was so comical that it would make Aspen laugh and her laugh would make him laugh, an endless cycle. Jin drove out of downtown and towards Aspen's home where her resident alien resided.
He pulled into her driveway, putting the car into park while Aspen was already halfway out of the car, going around to get the bags from the trunk. Jin got out of the car and went around to help her, grabbing the other half of bags that she had left in the trunk before closing it shut and walking towards the house.
Aspen pulled out her keys and struggled to grabbed the key to her house, but after fumbling with it for a few seconds, she finally caught a hold of it and put it in the keyhole, unlocking the door before turning the knob and pushing it open.
The house...the house was sparkling. Well, not actually sparkling, but it was clean, much cleaner than when Aspen left. The floors were swept and mopped. The shoes beside the door where nice and orderly in a straight line along the wall. When she walked further into her house, she looked into the kitchen, the counters were cleared, the dishes were put away, and the floors were cleaned.
Everything was perfect.
"Wow, I wish I had your roommate now." Jin muttered, dropping the bags on the clean wooden floor. "We weren't even gone for that long. How did he get the whole house cleaned that fast?" He was amazed. They both were. And though he house wasn't very dirty in the first place, it was still amazing that he managed to get pretty much everything done so fast.
Aspen put down the bags she was holding as well before walking further and into the living room.
Taehyung was sitting on the couch, right where Aspen had left him, still watching the same show. He was smiling at the antics of the main characters, laughing at their funny faces and jokes.
The couch was made and the coffee table was cleared, floor swept and mopped. Everything was nice and pristine, like a model home in one of those stock photo pictures.
"Tae." Aspen spoke, calling him by the shortened version of his name subconsciously, catching Taehyung's attention almost immediately.
His eyes went alight "Oh, hello hum- Aspen and Jin. How was your time out?" He asked, smiling at the two of them as if he hadn't just cleaned the entire house.
Aspen noticed the fluffy ball of black and brown in Taehyung's lap. Yeontan hand perked up at the sound of his owner's voice and put his two little paws up on the armrest, his tiny tail wagging rapidly behind him. She was surprised that the dog wasn't trying to rip his face off of Taehyung's skeleton.
"It was...fine." Aspen murmured, looking around her house, still amazed by how clean it was. "Taehyung, what did you do to the house?"
"Yeah, it's spotless." Jin adding with a comment as he looked around as well.
"Oh, I did chores like you told me to. I clean the living room, kitchen, and the bathroom." He told her cheerfully with that bright, boxy smile.
Jin put his hand on Aspen's shoulder and leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Can I borrow him?" He asked, looking at Taehyung with a wonderous, but still slightly scared gaze. They were only gone for like, an hour and a half.
"No." Aspen told him before walking over to Taehyung. She picked Yeontan up and held him to her while the dog licked her chin. Taehyung looked up at her with dark, wide, sparking eyes. "Are you pleased?" He asked her. "I did it to make you happy!"
Taehyung knew she wasn't particularly overjoyed that he was here, living off her resources, roaming her house. So he figured that he'd try his best to make her happy, so that maybe she'd be a little less angry, a little less stressed.
Aspen looked back at Jin who gave her a look. "I'll leave you two alone." He spoke, walking back towards the front door. "I'll talk to you later, A!" He called.
The two heard the door open and close, watching as Jin left the house.
"So...are you pleased?" Taehyung asked once more, looking at her hopefully. He wouldn't give up until he knew that she was happy with his work, until he found something that would make her happy.
Aspen looked back down at him, not really knowing what to say. "Oh, um...yeah Tae, I'm very happy." It wasn't necessary a lie. She was happy that her house was clean and she didn't have to be the one to do it.
Taehyung grinned wildly at his. "This is how humans show happiness correct? By baring their teeth?" He asked her, grinning wider to the point where it looked painful. Aspen smiled softly. "It's called smiling. You do it based on the level of happiness you're experiencing. It can be used for any positive emotion."
Taehyung nodded, his weird smile immediately dropping to a softer one. "Okay, well then, I am happy that you are happy." That's all he wanted.
Aspen turned to the door, to the multiple bags that littered the floor. "I bought you clothes and shoes and any other stuff that you may need." Deodorant, body wash, a tooth brush, etc.
Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed and his face morphed with confused. "Where will I keep the clothing? I have no storage space." At least they had the same train of thought.
Aspen sighed. "I have extra space in my closet you can use, I guess." She shrugged, looking down to Yeontan, scratching behind his ear.
Taehyung got up from the couch and went over to the front door, grabbing each bag one by one and holding them with ease. He made his way over to the stairs and walked up them looking around at the top for Aspen's room, which wasn't that hard to find, it was the door right in front of his face when he got to the top of the stairs.
Aspen put Yeontan down, allowing the puppy to follow her into the kitchen so that he could be fed. She went into the cabinet above the stove and grabbed a can of wet dog food. She pulled the tab up and back, pulling the top open before flipping it upside down into his food bowl.
The second she exited the kitchen, she heard the deep voice of Taehyung calling her name from upstairs. "Human Aspen." Why even add the "human" part to the front?
Aspen sighed and rolled her eyes, walking away towards and up the stairs to her room where Taehyung had a sweater on a hanger, but it wasn't on correctly. The hook was in one of the sleeves.
"I don't believe I am doing this right." Taehyung murmured sheepishly. Aspen couldn't help but let out a chuckle, reaching out to take the sweater from him. She moved it around so that the hook was sticking out of the collar of the sweater and the sides were in the shoulders of the sweater.
"And then you hang it up." She told him, showing all her hanging clothes to the side to put the hanger on the rod.
Aspen showed Taehyung how to hang up pants and where to put socks and such and helped him finish the rest, putting his few pairs of shoes in the closet as well.
"I'll leave so you can out on some actual pajam--actually. You need to take a shower." Aspen told him with a pointed finger before turning on her heels and leaving the room to go to the hallway closet to get Taehyung a washcloth. She already had men's bodywash in the bathroom as she preferred it over women's wash.
"Just use the one that says "Men's Bodywash" and put it on the washcloth." Aspen told him, handing him a blue washclothes before pushing him towards the freshly cleaned bathroom.
"Wait, so I remove my clothes, turn on the water in the giant bucket, put the liquid on the cloth and rub it over my naked body?" Taehyung asked her. Aspen gave him a weird look, her face becoming red at the last part. He was oblivious to the line that he continuously crossed because he didn't know it existed. Bit by bit she would have to draw that line for him.
"Um, yeah. Do that." Aspen told him before running down the stairs to get away from the awkward situation.
Taehyung went into the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind him. He shed himself of the clothing that Aspen had given him the day before before getting into the tub and turning on the water to wash himself.
Aspen waited for him downstairs, sitting down with Yeontan, watching TV. She did indeed hear a loud thump from upstairs, but obviously decided that she wouldn't investigate as she wasn't in her schedule for the day to see what an alien dick looks like.
So, she let him figure it out on her own.
After around 10 more minutes. Taehyung came back down stairs in loose, deep blue t-shirt and grey sweatpants that actually fit him this time. His black hair was still damp, sticking and curling against his tan skin. He had a towel on his head which he used to dry his hair before placing it around his shoulders to catch any excess water that dripped from his hair.
Aspen turned the look at him and her breath nearly caught in her throat and her face turned hot.
Why was he attractive all of a sudden? With the curly, wet hair and the grey sweatpants. Not to say he wasn't attractive in the first place, but...wow.
Aspen turned back around and slouched lower on the couch as Taehyung walked over to the couch and sat down beside her, so close that their knees were touching and Aspen could feel his body heat radiating off of him. She was almost sure that she could see steam coming off of him, his skin so hot that it was evaporatorating the water that still cling to him.
It was ironic. He was quite literally steaming hot.
"Why are you so close to me?" Aspen tried to ask calmly. Taehyung looked to her only for a moment before looking down, putting his hands on his thighs and moving over to the side away from her. "My apologies." He told her, looking back to the TV. He was stiff and awkward on the couch, not fully settled in like he was before. Maybe Aspen's upset tone put him off.
"I'm sorry if I scared you." Aspen whispered. "You can sit where you'd like."
Taehyung wasn't sure, so he moved to the direct opposite side of the couch and tucked his legs under himself, getting more comfortable, but not completely.
Neither of them were entirely comfortable. Taehyung just simply didn't know what to do while Aspen was kinda scared of how literally and metaphorically hot he was.
