Nico Di Angelo | Senate Contributions | Nico Di Angelo Fanart

There are some STUNNING interpretations of Nico di Angelo in art. It's so cool to see an artist's headcanons projected into their work, and it was so interesting to sort through the Senate's favorite Nico di Angelo fanarts! Without further delay, here are our picks:

1. Storm, Daught3rOfSelene0708 (she/her)

Art by minuiko

2. Rose, NoSaneHumanAllowed (she/her)

Art by @/akstzs on Tumblr

Rose: "I think this fanart portrays Nico really well in a way I can't explain. I think it captures how young he is in the face, but how powerful and outright deadly he is. It's also just really, really cool."

3. Red, TheRedSourPatchKid (she/her)

Art by fefox.drawings on Instagram

Red: "I love how this artist chose a light-colored theme for the aesthetic of this art instead of the dark ones we're so used to seeing. Even with the fun polka dots and light colors, the author still maintains the death aesthetic in the details, which are my favorite part of this piece. I love the little bone-shaped hairpins, the Italian flag patch on his jacket, the inclusion of his iconic skull ring, and especially the little sunshine bracelet!"

Honorable Mentions

A couple of extra Nico di Angelo fanarts that weren't necessarily selected by the Senate, but are certainly worth featuring anyway (no, this isn't because we were short on fanart contributions, what are you talking about?)

1. Art by @/_pj3z_ on Instagram

Apologies for the mute symbol; there was music attached to the post. This artist is known for their almost realistic rendering, so if you like that aspect of this art, you should definitely check out their other pieces. The symbolism in this one is also phenomenal. The Happy Meal? The ghostly hands that appear to be controlling Nico? Could it be King Midas's ghost?

2. Art by @/Alessia.trunfio on Instagram

Alessia's art is always so great; their interpretation of Nico reflects his dark side while still maintaining that he is, in fact, a child. I also love their interpretation of the Cocoa Puffs; they look so soft and their eyes glow like little flashlights!

3. Art by @/soia.jpg on Instagram

Soia probably draws one of my favorite Nicos; I also headcanon him with long hair. Their detailing is fantastic, and I love their sense of fashion for all of the characters they draw. I especially love this art because it encapsulates the themes shown in The Sun and the Star as a physical embrace of Nico's darkness. Also, Cocoa Puffs? They seem to have their own individual personalities in this one.

4. Art by @/_r3nni3_ on Instagram

I feel like this is what Nico would look like in an animated adaptation. This one has all sorts of details I like to see in Nico art such as the little ghosts, the Italian flag, and even the Cocoa Puffs in the corner, but it also went the extra mile. I love the skeleton who could be interpreted as Jules Albert the chauffeur and the usage of the MLM flag pin on Nico's hat instead of the rainbow pride flag like I'm so used to seeing in Nico art.
