Bill needs Eddies comfort
~
It's a normal Tuesday night in the Kaspbrak household. Eddie and his mother had just finished their 'ridiculously healthy' supper as Eddie likes to call it. The small boy makes his way up to his room, about to get ready to take a shower, when he hears his phone vibrate. He grabs his phone and reads what he's received- a message from Bill. A bright smile instantly forms on Eddie's lips as he opens the message to read it. But his smile fades just a quickly as it came when his brain processes the words that are laid out on his phone screen.
'I need you. Emergency.' the message reads.
Eddie's heart sinks into his stomach, he knows exactly what Bill means by emergency. The brunette tries his best not to panic as he frantically searches for a pair of shoes. Slipping them on, he locks his bedroom door and sneaks out of his window before replying to Bill.
'On my way, please don't do anything you'll regret.'
Eddie's feet scrape the concrete quickly before they pick up into a run. In a matter of minutes he's arrived at Bill's house, thankful that he lives so closely to his best friend. Eddie climbs up the side of Bill's house and in through his window, being so quiet that Bill hadn't even heard him.
"Hey," Eddie says softly, being careful to not startle Bill. Bill turns around, greeting Eddie with sad, blue eyes. The smaller boy walks up to the taller one, grabbing his hand and leading him to his bed. "What's going on?"
"I-" Bill starts in a shaky voice, trying his best to fight back his tears. He squeezes Eddie's hand lightly as he speaks again. "I s- saw G- Guh- Georgie again..." Bill looks down at his and Eddie's hands, lacing their fingers together.
"When?" Eddie shifts his body so he can look at Bill better.
"An h- hour before you got he- here,"
"What was he doing?"
Bill doesn't answer the question right away. He sucks in a deep breath and keeps his eyes glued on his and Eddie's hands. He takes another deep breath before answering.
"I just saw h- him in the hallway a- a- and he was just st- stuh- staring at me. I was too afraid to speak or move. I e- even tried wiping my e- e- e- eyes and he was still standing th- there. He just stood there for a few m- moments and then ran down the hall- hallway. I ran after him, i- into the basement and that's when..." a few tears slipped down Bill's face. He wipes them away quickly- he hates breaking in front of anyone.
But Eddie isn't just anyone.
"Breathe," Eddie says gently, rubbing his thumb across Bill's hand in attempt to calm him. Bill does as Eddie says; breathing deeply a few times and goes on to continue.
"He ran down to the b- base- basement and that's when- that's when i- i- i- i- it happened all over again!"
"What did?" Eddie furrows his brows, focusing on Bill's beautifully sad features.
"G- Georgie's death. I watched it hap- happen all over again and I was just reminded that it's a- a- all my f- fault!" Bill bursts into a fit of full on tears, throwing himself into Eddie's arms as he sobs into his chest.
"Billy," Eddie's voice cracks as he wraps his arms around the broken boy. "It's not your fault. There's no way you could have known what would happen. It's not your fault, Billy." Eddie tries his best to comfort Bill.
"But it is!" Bill nearly yells as he pulls away from the smaller boy. "Georgie is dead b- because of m- me!" Bill sniffs, trying to gain his composure. "And I might as well be dead too..." he adds softly.
"Don't- don't you fucking say that." it's now Eddie's voice that quivers and tears prick at his dark eyes. "If you go, what about the Losers? What about me?"
Bill looks at Eddie before looking away, not knowing what to say.
"We need you... I need you." Eddie whispers the last part. "What do you think we would do if we all lost you? Even your parents?"
"Eddie," Bill starts, half laughing. "M- my parents hardly acknowledge my exist- existence as it is."
"That's not the point," Eddie sighs. "We would all go mad without you. And who would I turn to when I just need to escape my pyscho mother?" Bill giggles at Eddie's words, nodding and understanding.
"I'd n- never leave you behind," Bill says sweetly with a smile, smiling for the first time that night.
"And I'd never leave you behind," Eddie repeats lovingly, staring into Bill's pretty, ocean blue eyes. He stares only for a moment before he closes the gap between them, connecting their lips.
Bill wasn't sure what was happening at first, freezing for a second until he kisses back. A sense of relief washes over Bill. He's glad that he's not the only one who feels this way, unless Eddie is doing this out of pity. That's when Bill pulls away, Eddie instantly panicking.
"Shit, I'm so sorry. Fuck, I shouldn't have done that. Bill, I'm-" Eddie's words are cut off by Bill reconnecting their lips quickly.
"I- it's okay. I liked it..." Bill admits shyly as he pulls away again, a slight blush tinting his cheeks. "I like y- y- you."
"Well," Eddie bites down on his lip, looking away, wondering if he should admit what he's always been wanting to tell Bill. "Well, I love you."
Bill's eyes go wide at that, his heart picking up pace.
"Y- you do?"
"I do,"
"Well, I love you t- too. And I ha- have for quite a while." Bill isn't sure where all this immense courage is coming from, but he's glad that in this moment, courage is all he has.
"I've liked you for quite a while too and I'm really kind of pissed that it took me this long to tell you,"
"Why?" Bill asks with a small laugh, resting his head on Eddie's shoulder.
"Because I thought I lost all chances after you got with Beverly- not that I thought I had a chance anyway. Umm, I mean-" Eddie cuts himself off, shaking his head.
"Bev isn't m- my type," Bill says as he looks at Eddie through his lashes, blinking bashfully.
"Yeah? And what's your type?" Eddie flirts.
"Y- you're my type," Bill mutters out, his shyness taking over as he tackles Eddie playfully onto the bed, burying his face in Eddie's chest again.
"Don't tell me that the Big Bad Bill is all shy on me now," Eddie teases playfully as he wraps his arms around Bill's waist.
Bill doesn't say anything. Instead, he just keeps himself wrapped around Eddie and his face buried in the other boy's chest. The two lay like that in silence for quite some time. The silence is comfortable and soothing. Bill finally feeling calm for the first time that night- the first time in months, actually.
"Hey, Bill?" Eddie interrupts the silence.
"Yeah?" Bill's muffled voice asks.
"Would you, umm, maybe like, umm, want to be my boyfriend?"
Bill perks his head up at the question, staring Eddie right in his eyes, he wasn't sure if he heard the other boy correctly.
"W- what?"
Eddie bites down on his lip nervously before asking the question again.
"Of course," Bill says with a cheeky smile.
And with that, the two boys talk in and all throughout the night.
