[21] Coming For Her

General POV:

"Well, it's very nice to meet you Nancy and Aidan." Meg smiled at both of them as she shook each of their hands. Aidan kept his eyes glued on Meg, she swore she could've caught him biting his lower lip as he looked her up and down about a billion times already. They had only just met and this boy was drooling over her already.

"Aidan, where are your manners! I'm sorry about him, hun. He pointed you out from afar and said that we should go talk to you because he finds you 'cute' or whatever. I only came with him to see you because you are one beautiful girl all alone in a park! Honey, you must stay safe because you never know what might happen out here."

"Thanks, Nancy. I will sure do stay safe, besides, I did not come here alone. My brother and his best friend are literally right around the corner, playing basketball in the basketball court, so-" Meg said.

"Wait, what are their names?"

"Who my brother and his best friend?" Meg asked.

"Yup."

"Uhm, Ethan is my brother's name and Milo is my brother's best friend's name. Why do you ask, Aidan I believe your name is."

"You got my name right and no reason at all." Aidan said, avoiding eye contact at all costs.

"What's up with him? Seriously, what is his problem?" Meg thought to herself.

~MEANWHILE~

Milo and Ethan were playing basketball and it was a rough and close game. There were random people joining them and of course, they needed more people, at least more than the both of them so they allowed many people to join. The game was fun but intense.

"Alright, start!" Someone's father called out, pretending to be the referee as he blew the whistle.

"Go, go, go, go, go!" A boy named Jordan said, running towards the ball.

"Yo, dude. Give me the ball!" Another boy called out. Then, he was given the ball and began dribbling towards the hoop. The ball got taken off him as soon as he realised it was too far so he passed it to one of his team mates, and that was Ethan.

Ethan was sweating like mad, he knew he could never live up to or even be like the other boys because they were so good and he was not. They were a hundred times better than Ethan and he knew that, he just didn't want to feel bad about it though he always ended up feeling bad. He began panicking as he knew he could never shoot nor could he dribble so he instinctively called out for Milo.

"Yo, Milo. Take the ball, I can't do this." Ethan said, throwing it over to him.

"What? Oh, so I have the ball now." Milo said.

Β He had caught the ball, seconds before it would've gone to the other team. He focused carefully and he focused hard on how he could win this game, or how his team could at least get a few points. Milo raced towards the hoop and he scored the ball inside. Their team mates came to hype him up about it and Milo smiled about finally scoring and having all his friends and team mates cheering for him. Shortly afterwards, he looked over at Ethan, who was sat down on the bench. He drank some water and rested his chin into the palm of his hands. He sighed and slowly made his way towards him as he wondered what was wrong with him. Whilst walking to Ethan, he came to the conclusion that Ethan was upset because he couldn't shoot the ball, though Milo had other plans to change his mindset.

"Hey, dude. What's up with you, huh? You were great out there, we, were great out there so what's the matter?"

"The matter is that I am, and will never be, good enough to make this team."

"No, look. Sure you are! You are skilled, we are all skilled. Think of it in a better way, look. What is a team, in your own words, can you tell me?"

"A team is a group of people who are working to live up to a common goal." Ethan mumbled.

"Yes, exactly! Now, name one characteristic of a "team" in your eyes." Milo said, looking at Ethan to respond.

"Well, people part of a team fulfil their own tasks and also help one another." Ethan said, finally lighting up inside. He then realised that the whole team needed each other, they even needed Ethan in order to be successful but also win the game.

"So, the team needs me too, right?"

"Yup, so get up and get out there and win a game! Yeah?"

"Alright man. And hey, thanks for the help. I'm sure you'd be a great influence and boyfriend to Meg." Ethan said, walking backwards with the basketball in his hands.Β

For once, Milo actually liked the idea of dating Meg. He didn't want to punch Ethan in the face for mocking him and saying things like that. Firstly, he didn't want to lose his best friend and secondly, he didn't want to put him down before he could set foot onto the basketball court so he stayed quiet. They continued to play basketball for a couple more hours and rounds.

~MEANWHILE~

"Okay, well we must be going now. We don't want to get late to going for dinner at my eldest grandson's party. He had finally got a new girlfriend and we don't want to miss seeing her. Right, Aidan."

"Mhm." Aidan nodded, speaking ever so quietly.

"Right, you my lovely have some fun and a great time out here. Please stay safe now will you?"

"I will, thank you very much. You are so kind."

"Aw, shucks. Well, goodbye. Aidan! Don't be rude and say goodbye."

"Can we have some alone time, grandma? I just want to talk to her privately." He said, emphasising the word at the end.

"What? Oh no, what was he going to do to me? Is he going to hurt me? Oh gosh, I just really want to run off to Milo and Ethan but I'd look like a freak in front of everyone as when I'm panicked, I scream out of control!" Meg thought to herself, as she silently cursed to herself. She was always told to never talk to strangers when she was younger and this was why.

"Hey, Meg. You're cute and all but you better watch out. I and you know who, are coming for you." He came close to her and whispered into her ears, before placing a gentle kiss behind her ear and on her neck.

"Ew, gross. Get away from me please." Meg said, dissatisfaction written all over her face. She quickly wiped away the kiss he had given her and looked angry at him.

"You have been warned, darling angel." He flirted.

"Oh, please, "dArLiNg AnGeL". Please do me a favour and shut the heck up."

"Okay, goodbye." Aidan said, before maniacally laughing his head off. "Come on, grandma let's go and celebrate with his new girlfriend."
