RAIN CO. Practice Studio 'D'

Sejeong stepped into the practice studio to see two more girls there dancing to NCT'S Cherry Bomb. her eyes widened in amazement at the two dancers. she waited patiently, doing everything in her to hold her excitement as she silently clapped along with her mouth in an 'o' shape.

one of the girls had her hair in natural curls that fell over her face, her light brown curls bouncing with her every movements. sejeong noted how relaxed she looked while dancing, she was groovy yet executed the dance with just as much control and charisma as her power-filled partner.

the other girl had long black hair that fell in front of her face as she danced powerfully, sejeong liked the charisma that was oozing from the back of the girl as sejeong could see her slight muscles in her arms flex with each movement.

sejeong wondered just how old the two were to be that talented... and tall. sejeong definitely took notice of the dancers tall and masculine figures, they were so boyish and their height was an added feature that sejeong couldn't help but envy how cool they looked.

the two ended in their poses, the sound of breathing took over the sound of in-synch footsteps as the music died down. Sejeong immediately clapped for the two, scaring the one with long black hair. the two immediately bowed to sejeong who greeted the two as well.

"hiii! you two are so good! how do you dance like that?" sejeong joked while imitating the duo's locking moves, causing the two to chuckle at her words.

"thank you" the curly haired girl spoke first, taking sejeong back by how deep her voice was.

can this girl get any more attractive? sejeong thought.

"how old are you two?" sejeong asked as she gestured between the two. she could tell they weren't talkative but that wouldn't stop her from making sure they at least had more than each other.

"14" the taller one answered and sejeong's eyes almost popped out of her head.

"that means..." sejeong counted on her fingers. "i'm three years- wait were you both born in 2003?"

"2002" the shorter one corrected with a smile, her dimples on display which made sejeong let out a small coo.

"wow, can't believe my dongsaeng's are taller than me" sejeong playfully scoffs making the two laugh.

"unnie, what's your name? you never told us"

"right~"

"oh, my name is kim sejeong! born on october 17th, 2000~" sejeong introduced herself, brushing her bangs out of her eyes.

"i'm youkyung, this is naeun" son youkyung introduces as she leans an arm on naeun's shoulder.

"are you two-" sejeong was cut off as the trio turned to the sound of the door opening.

"hello~" a short girl appeared with long brown hair. her smile was similar to that of a rabbit, it was adorable yet she had an aura about her that would make anyone stare.

her eyes scanned the three girls standing in the middle of the practice room. her eyes widening as she caught sight of a familiar curly head of hair.

"oh? han-ah!" she exclaimed with a smile so bright it made her eyes turn into little crescents.

"eunhye unnie" naeun smiled as she opened her arms wide for the older to wrap her arms tightly around her.

"are jia and jiwoo here?" eunhye questioned to which naeun shrugged her shoulders.

"i haven't seen them" naeun removed one of her arms from around eunhye to see sejeong and youkyung with curious eyes.

"we were trainees under jyp together" han explained which made youkyung nod her head in understanding while sejeong let out a noise of surprise.

"how old are you?" sejeong asked with a cute smile that made eunhye want to pinch her cheeks.

"sixteen. i was born in 2001" eunhye answered as she stood up straight.

"am i really gonna be the oldest?" sejeong questioned herself with a pout, the other three chuckling and coo-ing at how cute she was.

"you'll be the fake maknae" youkyung joked.

"yah!" sejeong laughed and playfully hit the younger softly.

"what time are we starting?" eunhye checked the time on the clock. "is this everybody?"

"AHHH! YAH! KIM JIA!" a childish voice screamed.

"omo" sejeong flinches towards youkyung softly.

naeun resorts to shaking her head as they heard extreme laughing and heavy foot steps that seemed to be chasing each other. she and eunhye both already had a good guess as to who the voices belonged to. the laughter died down to hushed whispers before the door opened and two tall and pretty girls walked in.

"i knew it~" eunhye smiled as she held her hands out for the two.

meanwhile, naeun was not pleased at how disrespectful the younger two were inside the company's building. there were other trainees practicing and people working, yet the two were screaming and chasing one another down the halls.

"you two are so noisy" naeun panned.

"sorry" jia apologized quickly as she hugged naeun, patting the older's curls for the fun of seeing them bounce. not to mention the priceless glare naeun sent her always made her laugh.

"introduce yourself" eunhye gestured jia over to jiwoo who was introducing herself to sejeong and youkyung energetically.

"hello! i'm hong fei~ i'm 13 years old and i like choco bars"

sejeong couldn't help but laugh loudly while youkyung cringed slightly at the cuteness coming from the youngest.

"i see..." youkyung trailed.

naeun chuckled and lightly hit her friends arm. the other's laughed while jiwoo faked an offended pout.

"unnie why that reaction?" she pouted.

"sorry... that was just..."

"new?" eunhye tried with raised eyebrows and her signature bunny smile.

"yeah..."

"hello, i'm jia kim, born in 03'" jia held up the number three with her fingers as she gave a dimpled smile.

"how tall are you?" youkyung asked curiously as she noticed the younger wasn't far behind her and naeun in the height category.

"165.3cm" youkyung nodded her head at jia's answer, noting that jia was still young and knew it was a possibility the 14 year old would be taller than both her and naeun.

"what about you?" jia looked up at the older, who would most likely be the tallest of them all. even if jia was sure naeun would have taken that spot.

"170cm... i'm older than you by the way" jia's eyes widened in surprise.

"sor—" youkyung stopped jia as she went to apologize for her informal way of talking.

"its whatever, maybe i'll let you drop honorifics when you reach my height" youkyung joked causing the younger to playfully push her.

the group of six girls were busy sitting on the floor of the practice room as they shared the snacks that jia and jiwoo had grabbed from the vending machine. they were currently playing a game of hongsam when the door opened and a beautiful girl poked her head through after a few seconds. the girls chuckled at the shyness at the pretty girl who stepped inside with someone behind her. eunhye gestured for the girls to stand up and greet the other two.

"hello~" the taller of the two spoke, she seemed to be youkyung's height or slightly taller.

"hii~" the second girl greeted with a small wave and smile, she was also pretty but anyone could tell from the baby fat on her cheeks that she was still young.

they both look like dolls. the six thought in unison as they stood in somewhat awe at the beauties in front of them.

"i'm choi seyeon, i'm a 99' liner" she spoke cooly, sejeong tried her hardest not to fangirl over the older.

"unnie, you're not the oldest anymore" naeun bent down slightly to whisper to the brown haired sixteen year old.

"you're right! yayyy" sejeong cheered quietly with a cute smile.

"hello, i'm sara, i'm from thailand and i'm an 03' liner" jia's eyes lit up at hearing there was someone her age here.

"what month?" jia asked as she couldn't contain her excitement.

"i was born in january" sara replied.

"i'm february" jia stated with a slight pout as she was younger, even if it was only by a month.

"is this everyone?" seyeon questioned as her eyes met naeun's, the curly haired girl counted the members around her.

"there's eight of us here, i think that's everyone" naeun hummed to herself as she counted once again. "eight is a good number"

"i'm glad you think so" a male's voice was heard making the girls, except youkyung and naeun to flinch back slightly.

the girls immediately bowed to the CEO, jeong jihoon, known by his stage name, rain. his bright smile made the girls feel like he was proud of them for some reason, yet they hadn't done anything.

"how are all of you?"

"good~" the girls chorused.

"have you all eaten yet?" a few yes's chorused, along with youkyung and sara's "not yet".

"you all have probably guessed why you all are here... i wanted to put together a group that had different yet unique things about them that made them stand out, i went to a lot of companies and academies, i guess you could say i was looking for a handful of ace's or those with the potential to become one" jihoon paused as he flipped through his clipboard. "naeun-ssi, eunhye-ssi, jia and jiwoo all came from jype, you all were apart of the planned group right?"

"yes~" eunhye answered.

"naeun and youkyung-ssi, you were both trainees at sm as well?" the two dancers smiled and nodded their heads. "a lot of you already know each other, i'll be expecting the teamwork to be above all else at the moment" he joked with a slight chuckle.

"i have a few songs here, think of this as a month long evaluation to see if you all are ready to be on stage. the first song will be around the dance position, this is gonna help us determine who will have a spot to make up the dance line. the song is..." he showed the lyric sheets, the title of the song and the group's name stood out in bold ink.

the girls all cheered for the song, naeun and youkyung giving each other a knowing look. they had practiced this song together before and they knew the choreography by detail. this would be a piece of cake for the dancers.

"the next song will be for the vocal position, this will be the second song you learn..."

"wah!" sara exlaimed and quickly placed her hands over her mouth to silence herself. "sorry"

the other girls chuckled and laughed with sara while jia playfully and softly pushed the shorter standing next to her.

"the last song will be for the rap position, you will perform this song after dance. although, i think naeun and youkyung will enjoy this one a bit more than everyone else" jihoon held the last page up to show the song and group.

naeun's eyes widened at the song choice while youkyung cheered, the other girls laughed and commented on the different reactions coming from the two.

"unnie you seem worried" jiwoo jokingly teased to which naeun responded by wiping her smile off her face in a mere second.

"she's talking nonsense again, what should i do?" naeun jokingly asked in a serious voice.

"ahh sorry! sorry!" jiwoo apologized in broken english before adding on a playful "scary~"

jihoon found himself laughing at the group's antics, blushing slightly once the jokes and teasing were directed towards him. "pd-nim is laughing? amazing!" sejeong kicked it off.

"wah!" "so handsome!" eunhye and sara joined in.

"okay okay" jihoon chuckled and stopped before the others could join in. "the evaluation will take place on the 20th of this month, that's in two weeks. your trainers and myself will do check ups every now and then to see how your progress is, and that's all for now"

"make sure you all eat and get enough sleep, don't forget to study!" jihoon pointed at the youngest three in the room. "good luck girls, hwaiting!"

"thank you~" the girls chorused while bowing towards the ceo, jihoon smiled and waved at the group one last time before leaving the room.

it was quiet for a few seconds before eunhye spoke. "shall we start now?"

everyone agreed with the 16 year old, who turned to naeun for a slight second, before turning back to other girls.

"okay, for our foreign members" eunhye started causing sara, jia, and jiwoo to listen carefully to what eunhye was about to say. "i'll print the lyric sheets out and then we can decide parts... and then we start practicing, is everyone okay with that?"

"yes" the group chorused once again causing eunhye to smile and stand up.

"alright, i'll be right back... does anyone wanna come with?"

"i'll go" youkyung raised her hand lazily before standing up and following the short brunette out the door.

after a few moments, everyone had basically spread out inside the dance studio. seyeon scanned the studio, the younger three were all talking and joking amongst each other and seemed to be playing Rock Paper Scissors. sejeong was warming up her vocals for practice soon, then seyeon's eyes landed on naeun. she noticed the younger sat in the corner with an ipad in hand. she had a notebook and a pen and seemed to writing something down.

making her way over, seyeon sat beside the curly haired 14 year old. taking a look at what had the girl so focused that she blocked out everything around her. she saw the choreo for dope playing on the ipad and looked over to the paper filled with circles and arrows.

"what are you doing?" seyeon's voice brought naeun out of her focused state.

"I'm jotting down the formations... there's eight of us so i have to change the formations around to make it look nice" seyeon noted that the younger had the deepest voice, and it was pretty deep for how young she was.

"ahh... that looks confusing though? i don't understand any of this" seyeon pointed towards the notebook, still trying to decipher the circles and arrows.

"arrows signal changed or added positions" naeun mumbled as she marked down another circle with an arrow leading towards another one, drawing an x over the second one.

seyeon felt her head hurting just by looking at naeun work.

"you're like a super genius aren't you" seyeon joked with a slight scoff.

naeun met seyeon's eyes, amusement dancing in her light brown eyes as she took in seyeon's confused yet curious state. the younger only shook her head with a slight chuckle escaping her lips.

"yah kim jia!" sara exclaimed causing the oldest three in the room, seyeon, sejeong and han, to look over. "come here"

jia laughed as she dodged sara's hand reaching out to pull her back down. sticking her tongue out at the older before running away once again to dodge the shoe that sara had launched her way. jiwoo leaned over as she cackled at the shoe barely missing jia's head.

"yah you almost killed me!" jia laughed out as she held her hands over her head in protection.

seyeon and sejeong laughed at the maknae trio while naeun watched in amusement before shaking her head and going back to her notebook. suddenly feeling a little thirsty, she reached in her hoodie pocket and pulled out her wallet. taking a few dollar bills out, she called out to the maknae's.

"yah maknaez" naeun called out, jiwoo and sara turning their head as jia looked up at the older. "can y'all grab some water for everyone from the vending machine?"

she held out the money as she finished changing the formations, typing in the dance practice for wee woo, she felt the money leave her grip.

"thank you" she said loudly as the three rushed out to the vending machine, the practice room being taken over by silence, excluding the music coming from naeun's ipad.

"its so quiet in here now" seyeon chuckled as she continued to watch naeun in silence. she wanted to see how naeun started off the formations, maybe then she'll have some clues on how to understand the circles and arrows with out giving herself a headache.

"that's why i sent them" naeun laughed out, causing sejeong to snort from in front of the mirror. the trio laughing in unison as eunhye and youkyung came back.

"where's jia, sara and jiwoo?" eunhye furrowed her eyebrows as she noticed the three were absent.

"i sent them to get water" naeun answered while looking up to meet eunhye's gaze. the older only nodding before passing out the lyric sheets to the three in front of her.

"formations?" youkyung questioned even though she knew the answer, taking a squat in front of naeun and seyeon.

"how did you know that?" seyeon asked with a raised eyebrow.

"i do the same thing" youkyung shrugged as if it was no big deal.

seyeon only stared at the two in awe for a few seconds, she really had two geniuses on her team, before eunhye called her name.

"unnie, do you want volunteer for a part before we take turns?" seyeon nodded and scooted over to where sejeong and eunhye sat. leaving the dancers to do their thing.

"we're back!" jiwoo held the door open for sara and jia who had arms full of bottles of water.

naeun, who looked up the moment they walked it, widened her eyes at the amount of water the three bought. meeting jiwoo's sheepish smile, she sighed.

"did you spend all of it?"

"yup!" jiwoo smiled and naeun just shook her head and went back to the formations.

"you three come here" eunhye gestured the maknae's over as she wrote down the parts sejeong and seyeon volunteered for. "hannie, youkyungie, come here"

once everyone was together, eunhye started. "right now, we're gonna tryout for parts, seyeon unnie and sejeong unnie already volunteered for a few parts, not everyone's parts will stay the same since i'm not sure about everyone's vocal range and stability... so we should try out for parts we want and then vote, is that okay?"

"yeah, i'm okay with that" seyeon sounded while naeun nodded, the other's all agreeing along.

"okay..." eunhye flipped through a few pages before finding the part she was looking for. "we'll do dope first? its mostly a highlight for the rappers and dancers, there's not many vocal parts in the song..."

naeun noticed eunhye's slight drop of confidence as she explained and gave out ideas. sending the older an knowing smile and nod of her head once they met eyes.

"who would like to try out for the killing part? and then we can vote on the center?" naeun questioned as she raised her hand up.

youkyung raised her hand shortly after which caused excitement around them.

"as expected" jia chuckled.
"how did i know it would be these two" jiwoo pointed.
"indeed our dancers" sejeong cheered while clapping her hands.

"123... start" eunhye counted as youkyung went first.

cheer's were heard from the girls as youkyung said the beginning line of dope. adding a wink after she was finished. youkyung met naeun's glance and both bursted out in laughter at youkyung's own embarrassment.

"move, its my turn" naeun stood up and let the girls count down for her as she bent down on one knee, her elbow resting on the other one as she held her hand out in like namjoon did in the mv.

"oh she's serious" eunhye joked with a smile as they all watched as naeun looked up with a raised eyebrow and a small smirk.

"hmm, welcome , first time with meraki?" naeun tilted her head slightly causing the other seven to fan girl, loudly, at her.

"okay okay" eunhye started to calm everyone down. "let's vote... 123"

naeun and youkyung counted the hands that were pointed their way : sejeong, and sara voted for youkyung. eunhye, jia, jiwoo and seyeon voted for naeun.

naeun smiled after counting the votes, clapping her hands and thanking the girls for giving her the part.

"okay, for the next part..."
