a few weeks went by, eloise has stayed with the black's for these days and she joined the school on the reservation as well, acting like a high school and keeping an eye on the boys that havent phrased yet - billy's idea if you hadnt guessed.

the two got close in the past few days, both had a father-daughter relationship as she was very open and always helped him with whatever it was be it washing the clothes, doing the dishes, or just helping jacob with his homework - that he would rather ditch to hangout with embry and quil.

jacob, the boy that was around her age - the age she lies about given that she's immortal - showed his slight distaste at the beginning for her since he didnt know her but quickly warmed up, apologizing for how he acted.

it was another morning for the two, both getting ready for their day as billy had made them both a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon before the two went inside jacob's truck and drove to school.

since she was still the newbie many eyes were on her as she got out of the passenger, jacob came to her side slinging his arm over her shoulder as the he continues talking about his ridiculous dream that he had.

she had a smile on her face the whole time but her eyes went from jacob's face to beside them, seeing a brunette boy standing with his friends while looking at her with - what jacob would say - heart eyes.

giving him a bigger smile she turns to look back to jacob as he leads them inside the school building.

the two went to her locker first, letting her put her tote bag inside and taking out her book for calculus out along with her pencil case and notebook. she laughs at what he said next, "your so good at calc, makes me think you went to school like four times before."

she gives him a teasing smile, "maybe i did? you'll never know who i was in my past life."

he swats her hand away that went to his cheeks, trying to pull them slightly, something she often did as he noticed.

the two walk to his own locker, the blonde leaning next to it as they wait for embry and quil, "i bet you five that embry will be here first." she says, giving him a wink.

"yeah? i bet you five that its quil." he responds, almost smug before they see embry round the corner, "awe cmon man! how are you always right?"

"no idea but pay up!" she states, when embry arrives she grins at him, bragging proudly, "i got a five, lets get snacks at lunch from it!"

"why you got a five from jake? what did you bet this time, and without me?" he asks, grabbing his notebook since his english book was at home.

she laughs, leaning her back on the looker and looking at him, "that you would make it first and see here, i won."

he laughs, "jake your a sore looser!" he calls to him, the named boy groans at that, crossing his arms in front of his chest with a pout.

"cmon jake, dont pout. i'll let you win next time." she tells him with a cheeky smile getting a 'yeah, yeah' back from him.

quil come to the three, a tired look in his eyes which made eloise stand straighter, "hey bud, what up with you? stayed up too long?"

he nods his head, "yeah, calc is a bitch." he tells them, shutting his locker closed after getting what he needed.

"i can help you if you want. how about tomorrow? jake and embry are there as well, obviously. heard you have a test on friday so we can study together." she offers, she wasnt in the same class as them as she had a different timetable - even tho she fought for the same in the office, they wouldnt give it to her, saying they were full.

"you're a life saver you know that lou?" quil grins, taking her offer, "and dont take the offer back now! i'll come by tomorrow."

she laughs at that while embry curiously asks, "why cant we do it today?"

she tensed a bit, "oh uh, sam's picking me up and we'll have to.. get his dog to the vet in forks."

quil laughs, "so you and sam huh?"

her eyes went wide, "what?! no! no, no, no me and sam, theres nothing going on."

"i heard he broke up with leah a few days ago, coincidence that it was right after you came to la push." embry says, getting suspicious.

"its-" she stutters an answer, "its not like that, i swear!"

quil and embry wiggle their eyebrows while jacob wore a slight scowl on his face.

"guys.." she drags out, groaning as she knew they wouldnt let it go for some time, "i'll just go to calc now.."

embry's face scrunched up, "lou!" he calls after her but she ignored him, "louise! cmon we didnt mean it!"

"nice work man, now she's mad at us." jacob mutters, walking to their english class with quil and embry following hesitately.

sitting in class she sat in one of the back seats, doodling in her notebook. truth be told she never wrote anything class related inside and just doodled but her grade - from what she could tell - werent slipping at all, since she visited school for many years already.

looking up from her notebook her attention went to a boy with dark brown hair, almost black. his lean build and tall height was what stood out to her, he was sat a row in front of her but on the other side as she herself sat by the window.

staring at the back of his head she got lost in her thoughts, the girl next to her was keeping up with the notes before the teacher showed something on the blackboard, stopping his writing.

she looks to the blonde with a teasing grin, "if you keep staring then he'll notice, you know?" she nudged her when she didnt get an answer making the witch blink a few times before turning to her, "he'll notice if you continue staring at him."

eloise chuckles, "oh i didnt- i mean i did yeah but i just got lost in my thoughts."

"mhm.." the girl drags out, "i'm kim btw. you seem to be talk of the school."

eloise chuckles at that, "what? am i that interesting to be around?"

"well not many move to la push, rather away from it, so it did stir something up through the people." kim answers her.

eloise nods her head, "do you know his name?" she asks her, pointing at the boy she stared at for so long.

she nods her head, "yeah but i wouldnt if i were you." getting a confused look from the blonde, "his name is paul. he hangs with the school's bad boys." she elaborates, lifting her fingers to mock the word 'bad boys'.

eloise grins, "he cant be that bad can he?"

"hm, if you think so then talk to him at lunch?" she says, almost daring her.

"my my.. are you daring me to kim?"

"why not, no one really talked to him outside of his friend group. would love to see how it goes."

eloise lets out a amused chuckle and smiles at her, lifting her hand she shakes kim's, "dare is on."

lunch came by quickly, so far eloise had many classes with kim and to her luck, paul. she didnt focus on anyone else, truth be told she found him attractive but that was it, if he were to phrase and imprint she would be ruining her own heart.

the two girls stop at their respective lockers before walking to the cafeteria, standing in line to get their lunch as paul and his friends walk inside, sitting at a table where they usually sit at.

eloise noticed them and grins at kim, "save me a seat by your table and can you get my lunch? the same as yours please."

kim smirks at her teasingly, "will do. now go get your boy."

the blonde lets out a chuckle before walking to paul, walking past many that were already eating. among them was jared cameron, a boy that stared at her a lot, not that she noticed that much - only the morning where she smiled at him.

when he noticed her he turns his head to look over his shoulder, staring after her as his friend nudged him, "will you stop looking at her? man she's gonna catch on!"

jared's brows furrow as she walks straight to paul's table, "why is she going to him? you think there's something going on?"

his friend only shrugs, going back to conversing with their other friends and eating his lunch while he himself watches eloise closely.

the table laughs at something one of the boys said but they were all quiet quickly when she approached them with a confident smile.

"oh look! here comes the blondie. who you think she's here for?"

"i say ethan."

"no man, she's here for cole for sure."

"you think so?"

"totally."

paul's back was turned to her so she taps on his shoulder, the three boys next to him had wide eyes suddenly. paul turns his head to her a small smirk on his lips, "what?"

"your paul right?" she asks as she sits down next to him, already knowing the answer, "never mind doesent really matter. i saw you in calc and art. you can draw really good."

his brows furrow at the sudden compliment, "thank you?"

"i wanted to ask if we could hang some time? how about friday afternoon, i have nothing to do." she asks him, her smile never faltering.

his friends yell out happily, boosting his confidence up a little as he answers, "sure, you're driving with me after school then?"

she shakes her head, "cant. i have to help at the store but you can pick me up at 5 if thats good with you."

he nods his head, "yeah sure i can do that."

"great." she says, glancing at his friends as her smile falter at a familiar face, her pupils grew a little wider, "i'm eloise, btw i havent introduced myself."

"your names all over the school, there was no need." he teases with a smirk.

"right.." she drags out, "i'll see you on friday then. dont be late."

turning around she had a smirk on her lips, walking to kim's table and passing jacob's. she leans to his dish, stealing a nugget and dipping it in ketchup before she continues her walk.

jacob groans, "cmon lou! thats my favorite, i saved it for last!"

she laughs, turning to him and making a heart with her hands to him with a mock pout, "cry about it jake."

turning back around she sits down next to kim, who was alone since her friends already went away to do something else.

"so? how did it go?" she asks quickly.

"he's picking me up at 5 on friday from work." she answers, eating her nugget first.

"is it a date? oh please tell me it is!" kim gushed.

"its not." eloise states, "at least not from my side."

"you think he'll say it is one?"

"if he's cocky then sure, he is attractive but.. thats all there is."

"your right, he is attractive but my type is jamie. anyways, paul is very hot headed, if you hadnt heard he apparently beat this boy up for no reason after lunch one time." kim gossips.

"you sure there was no reason?" eloise asks, leaning forward.

she nods her head, "no one knows why but my guess would be because he said something that paul didnt like hearing."

eloise raised her eyebrows, wanting her to continue and so she did, her voice a whisper as kim leaned closer to her, "something about his mom. poor guy went through the divorce from his parents before he moved here and his mother works all the time. many say she's.. selling her body but dont believe that, she's a nurse at the hospital and has late hours."

"how do you know she's a nurse?" eloise asks curiously.

"my mom went there for a check up a couple years back and she saw her there." she answers.

eloise nods her head, finishing her food before standing up, "i have to go now, i'll see you tomorrow?"

"yeah, see you in pe then."

the two bid each other goodbye before the blonde went outside, admiring the woods that were at the back of the school as she gets her phone out.

silently looking around she puts it to her ear after she dialed a number, waiting for someone to pick up as she plays with her nails that annoyed her, the color was so out by now.

"eloise..?"

"nice weather where i am right now. no sun and constant rain, grey clouds. how is it there? in the sun, in the warmth that you seem to love so much."

"oh dont come like this. you left. remember that, now why did you really call me?"

"i'm surprised you have phones now, given that your coven is rather old." a smirk clear in her voice as she crosses her arms, "athen is beautiful at this time of the year, have you been?"

a deadpan was clearly heard in the voice, "no eloise, i was just born there a few centuries ago."

"have it your way. just remember you cant find me, neither of you can. so stop trying, i know when you dont and things will get ugly if you dont." she warns.

a chuckle was heard, "oh please, not like i can. remember what i told you, its still in tact so i'll find you either way."

she lets out an offhanded hum as she turns around but stopped when the person continued, "nice house you got in athen, rather big for your liking but it is what you told me you wanted. may i say that i find that picture rather adorable that you have on your wall, although cameras werent invented yet, i wonder how you have that.."

"magic, buddy." she responds before hissing into the phone, "stay away from my house. i warned you, dont tell me i didnt when you're on your deadbed."

"i'll be waiting till you join me then." they flirted and eloise knew they had that smirk on their face.

hanging up without another word she looks into the treeline and takes a step towards it before a hand was on her shoulder making her let out a startled yell as she turns her head around with wide eyes.

"who.. who are you?"

"huh?"
