The sun had barely risen when Jungkook found himself pacing his office, haunted by the events of that terrible night. The silence of the mansion was suffocating, each moment replaying the horror he had unleashed upon Jimin. He could still see the look in Jimin's eyes, a mixture of pain, confusion, and heartbreak. It was the face of someone who had trusted him, who had loved him deeplyโand whom he had betrayed in the worst possible way.
Jungkook's thoughts were consumed by the last moments he had spent with Jimin. The way Jimin had looked at him, with such vulnerable hope, only to be met with violence. The blood on Jimin's lips, the lifelessness in his eyes as he lost consciousnessโit all played over and over in Jungkook's mind. He could no longer hide from the truth: he had let his anger and pain blind him, and in doing so, he had nearly destroyed the one person who had loved him unconditionally.
"Why did I do it?" he muttered to himself, hands trembling as he collapsed into the chair behind his desk. He remembered the video that had triggered his rageโthe one that had seemed so damning, yet now seemed so irrelevant. Nothing could justify what he had done. He had let himself be consumed by past hurts, seeing betrayal where there had been none. And now, he might have lost Jimin forever.
He had spent the entire night replaying every word, every action. The reality of what he had done to Jimin gnawed at him, tearing him apart. Jungkook knew that an apology wouldn't be enough. He needed to show Jiminโand the worldโhow deeply he regretted his actions. He needed to make amends, to earn Jimin's forgiveness, if such a thing was even possible.
That's when he decided. He would make his apology public, at this upcoming global conference where he was to launch his company's latest product. It would be the perfect opportunity. Everyone would be thereโthe media, their friends, the world. If he was going to do this, he needed to do it right, and he needed to do it in a way that would show Jimin how sincere he was.

The day of the global conference arrived, and the grand hall was buzzing with anticipation. Executives, investors, reporters, and fans from around the world gathered to witness the unveiling of Jeon Jungkook's new productโa revolutionary device that had been hyped for months. But beneath the surface, a different kind of tension simmered, especially among those who knew what had happened the night before.
Jungkook stood backstage, his heart pounding in his chest. He could hear the murmurs of the crowd, the clinking of glasses, and the clicking of cameras. Normally, this would have been his moment to shine, to bask in the success of his hard work. But today, none of that mattered. The only thing on his mind was Park Jimin.
He glanced at his reflection in the mirror, adjusting his tie with shaky hands. This wasn't just about business anymore. This was about owning up to his mistakes, about showing Jimin that he was truly sorry, that he was willing to do anything to make things right. He knew he would have to face the consequences of his actions in front of everyone, but he didn't care. All that mattered was Jimin.
"Are you ready?" Namjoon's voice broke through his thoughts. Jungkook turned to see his hyung standing in the doorway, concern etched on his face. Namjoon had been one of the first to confront Jungkook after this plan of apology, his disappointment evident. But now, seeing Jungkook's resolve, Namjoon simply nodded, offering a silent show of support.
Jungkook took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah, I'm ready."
The lights dimmed as the event began, the usual formalities kicking off with speeches from various executives. But Jungkook wasn't paying attention. His mind was focused on what he was about to do. Finally, his name was announced, and he walked onto the stage, the spotlight bright and blinding. As the CEO and the chairman of the Jeon Corporations.
He could hear the applause, but it felt distant, like it was happening in another world. He took his place at the podium, the audience quieting down in anticipation of his speech. Jungkook looked out at the sea of faces, scanning the room until his eyes landed on Jimin, seated in the front row beside Taehyung and Hoseok. Jimin looked cold and distant, his face still bruised and pale, but he was there. That was enough for Jungkook, he kept his words for attending this event as per Jungkook's request.
"Good evening, everyone," Jungkook began, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "Thank you all for being here today. I know you're expecting me to talk about the new product we're launching, and I will get to that. But before I do, there's something far more important that I need to address."
A murmur of confusion rippled through the audience. This wasn't what they were expecting. Jungkook took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Jimin's.
"Three months ago a particular night, I did something terrible. Something I will regret for the rest of my life. I hurt someone who means the world to me, someone who has always been there for me, even when I didn't deserve it. I let my anger and my past cloud my judgment, and in doing so, I betrayed the trust of the person who was my best friend, who was always there for me since we met."
Jungkook's voice cracked slightly as he spoke, but he pushed on, determined to get through this. "Jimin, I was wrong. I was so, so wrong. I said things I didn't mean, and I did things that were unforgivable. I let my own pain blind me to the truth, and I hurt you in a way that no one should ever be hurt."
The room was silent, all eyes now on Park Jimin, who sat motionless, his expression unreadable. Jungkook stepped away from the podium and walked to the edge of the stage, never breaking eye contact with Jimin.
"I know that no words can undo what I did," Jungkook continued, his voice thick with emotion. "But I want you to know that I am truly sorry. From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry for the pain I caused you. You didn't deserve any of it, and I would do anything to take it all back."
Then, to the shock of everyone in the room, Jeon Jungkook got down on one knee, his head bowed in front of Park Jimin. The cameras flashed, capturing the moment as gasps echoed throughout the hall.
"Park Jimin, I'm begging you to forgive me," Jungkook said, his voice trembling. "I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I'm asking for it anyway because I can't live with myself knowing how much I hurt you. Please, Jimin...please forgive me."
Tears welled up in Jimin's eyes as he stared down at Jungkook, his heart torn between the love he still felt and the pain that lingered. For a moment, the world seemed to stop as everyone waited for Jimin's response.
Finally, Jimin spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "Jungkook...why?"
Jungkook looked up, tears streaming down his face. "Because I was scared, Jimin. Scared of seeing the reason I lost my father was you the person whom I considered my friend, scared of being hurt again of getting betrayal again. I believed what my eyes saw and you know my father's death made me insane. But in trying to protect myself from the betrayal, I ended up hurting you instead. I know I don't deserve your loveย and your forgiveness after what I've done, but I'm asking for a chance to make things right to retain our friendship. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you if that's what it takes."
Jimin wiped away a tear, his emotions swirling in a tempest of confusion and heartbreak. "You broke me, Jungkook," he whispered. "You broke my heart."
Jungkook's heart shattered at Jimin's words. "I know, and I'm so sorry. Please, just give me a chance to fix it. I can't lose you, Jimin. I always have considered you someone special in my life, and I always will."
There was a long pause, the tension in the room palpable. Jungkook remained on his knees, his fate in Jimin's hands. Then, slowly, Jimin rose from his seat, his legs trembling as he approached Jungkook.
The entire room held its breath as Jimin reached out, gently touching Jungkook's face. Jungkook closed his eyes at the touch, his tears mingling with Jimin's.
"Get up," Jimin said softly, his voice breaking.
Jungkook hesitated, but then he slowly rose to his feet, standing before Jimin with his head bowed in shame.
Jimin looked into Jungkook's eyes, seeing the sincerity of his regret, the depth of his remorse. "I don't know if I can forgive you right now, Jungkook," Jimin said, his voice trembling. "But I believe that you mean it when you say you're sorry. And that's a start."
Jungkook nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. "I'll do whatever it takes, Jimin. I promise."
Jimin took a deep breath, the pain still raw, but something in him softened. "We'll see, Jungkook. We'll see."
With that, Jimin turned and walked out of the hall, leaving Jungkook standing there, watching him go. The room remained silent, the gravity of what had just happened hanging heavy in the air.
Jungkook knew this was only the beginning of his journey to redemption. But as he watched Jimin walk away, he also knew he would do whatever it took to win back Jimin's trust and love, no matter how long it took.
For now, the product launch , the success of his company, the applause of the crowdโnone of it mattered. All that mattered was Jimin, and Jungkook's unwavering determination to make things right.
<End of Chapter>
This is new chapter which I've written on 4 sept 2024 while this book was written in 2020.
This chapter wasn't added back then I wasn't satisfied with the flow of story I was a teenager back then but now I felt like I should have added this which is why I wrote this chapter today.
It was necessary for Jungkook to pay and make things right in this story.
