2| needing a friend
chaeyoung
Finishing my previous period, gym, and then my last period, art, then going home to watch anime was typically my plan for most days, including this one. I felt I especially needed to on days like today, where Jenny and her friends would bother me. Their constant comments typically didn't bother me much but today I just snapped a little.
Walking out of the locker room somewhat late, my face flushed remembering Jenny rip out my drawing of Jongin and the things she'd said. Yeah, I knew I wasn't all that pretty and a lot of people thought I was pretty weird but she didn't have to bring it up all the time.
And of course I knew I didn't have a chance with Jongin, heck, why would I when some actual pretty girls didn't even have one? I just wished they'd at least let me fantasize about him in peace.

As the days passed, that same boy who sat with me at lunch, Jae, continued to sit at my table. And though usually I didn't care to associate with the people around me, he was for some reason different.
He actually talked to me, which was strange because hardly anyone here talked to me.
And the weirdest thing was that he was kinda just like me. He shared my hate for Jenny, and felt my annoyance toward her. Or so I thought due to the couple of times I'd see Jenny or even Baekhyun picking on him throughout the week.
So it was cool having someone to talk to. Someone who not only understood me, but also
Seemed to actually like me.
Not like me like me, but just like me. Like an actual friend.
And I hadn't had one of those in a long time.
Moving past the people in the hallway, I made my way to my locker. Taking specific things out of it and putting some back, I finished getting everything I needed for my next class and closed it, zipping up my backpack and slinging it on my shoulder.
While I started walking toward the art rooms, I heard a scream come from someone on the other side of the hallway.
Recognizing the voice, I turned around to see Jenny, standing in front of her locker, holding up a blue liquid stained PE shirt.
Oh gosh.
I continued to stare at her shocked, just like everyone else around her until she snapped, "What the hell is this?!"
Inspecting her, I concluded that it had obviously not been an accident and saw that it was dripping on some of her school supplies too. My eyes widened in amusement as I came to a realization,
Someone had purposely poured something into her locker.
But who?
While flicking her eyes at everyone in the hallway, people stared at her in shock but also with amusement that someone had the guts to pull of such a trick.
Then her eyes met mine and she scowled.
Shoot.
Staring at me with pure anger she murmured, "Little b*tch."
My eyes widened as her possy of girls met my gaze and started toward me. Confused, I continued my descent faster, not wanting her friends to catch up to me.
Why'd they assume it was me anyway? Why would I do such a thing... well, then again, that would make sense if I did, but still.
My jog soon increased to a run as I looked for the nearest place to hide. Not even thinking about where I was actually going, I ended up at a dead end, the only places available being a classroom and the bathroom.
Agreeing with myself to hide in a bathroom stall, I quickly rushed through the doors and went in the farthest one from the entrance. Standing on the toilet seat was not a treat, but I was willing to do it if it meant Jenny and her friends wouldn't find me in here, if they even saw that this is the direction I'd gone.
A couple seconds later, I heard the bathroom door open and footsteps follow it. Assuming it was them, I held my breath and stood completely still, praying that they wouldn't find me here.
"Gosh, where is that little brat?" one of them said. I noticed it was Rosé.
Another one scoffed. "Are you sure she even went this way?" she, Jisoo I believe, asked.
"Yes, now just shut up and look. I swear, she is not getting away with pulling a stupid prank like this." another one snapped. This one I could tell was Jenny's best friend, Lisa, the second evilest of the bunch.
"Ugh," someone started a couple seconds later. "Let's go, she's not here."
"Yeah," another sighed. "Maybe she's in the classroom across from here."
And with that, I heard footsteps shuffle toward the door and a small closing sound. I sighed quietly in relief before waiting awhile, just to be sure they were gone.
Around 2 minutes passed so I decided that they were probably gone by now and that I'd be able to sneak to my next class. I walked out of the stall and quickly washed my hands.
While washing, I looked in the mirror, staring at my reflection blankly before sighing and drying my hands off with a paper towel.
I wonder what could make this day better, I thought sarcastically to myself.
Opening the bathroom door slowly to get to my next class was probably the biggest mistake I made this day. Because when I did, I was greeted by none other than Kim Jenny and her possy of girls waiting for me.
Attempting to close the door, I failed miserably and they barged in, her friends pushing me against one of the stalls in front of the mirror.
"Let me go!" I shouted, flailing and kicking as much as I could.
They didn't bugde, of course, and just held me there as Jenny walked up to the mirror and rummaged through a small makeup bag.
"Jeez Son Chaeyoung," she started slowly in a sickly sweet voice, eyes concentrating on what she was looking for. "I let you off with a warning and this is how you repay me? By pouring juice into my locker?" she asked rhetorically.
I shook my head. "No, Jenny. It wasn't me who did it, I swear." I tried to tell them.
"If it wasn't you then why were you running idiot?" Lisa snapped.
"Maybe cause you were chasing me!" I retorted, wanting to punch the girl right in the face.
"Silence," Jenny announced, cutting everyone off. "Lisa, leave her. She's gonna get what she deserves, whether she accepts or denies."
With that Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo smirked viciously, looking at each other knowingly. I gave them confused glances, wondering where the situation was going.
That was until I began to notice my fate when seeing Jenny find what she was looking for in her bag.
It's not that I never would've thought something like this would happen to me. Being trapped in the girl's bathroom with my biggest enemies wasn't that new of an idea for me.
What frightened me were the things that they'd do to me in said bathroom. Normally it would just be name calling or the occasional fist fight, but today was very different than the others.
Because today, instead of beating the crap out of me like they had earlier talked about and I had expected, Jenny and her gang had decided to punish me in the least and most painful way possible that would surely leave me with a noticeable yet painless mark.
And it was all made clear when Jenny turned around and walked toward me with a beautifully vicious smile painted on her face and two shiny blades gripped between her freshly painted fingers.
My heartbeat had quickened. "J- jenny? What the heck are y-"
"Shhh, little Chaeyoung," Jenny hushed with a smile as she approached me. The girls holding me steady laughed in a completely frightening harmony.
"Seriously guys stop!" I cried, my voice breaking as I writhed in the girl's grips on my arms.
Jenny just drew her scissors up to my neck, sliding their cold wings against my jaw and tracing a line, making a muffled cry seep out of my mouth.
"P-please Jenny," I'd stuttered, tears threatening to spill out of my eyes.
"You know Chaeyoung," Jenny started slowly. "I think you'd look nice with short hair, don't you?"
I'd opened my eyes, confused with what she was talking about. She just chuckled and picked up a section on my hair and inspected it hungrily as I realized what was going to happen.
"I think it's time for a little cut."
