"He did tell me that he was the same age," Myunghee told Haechan who had begun the searching. He looked through all the 35 Park Heesungs who were living and about 13 of them were born in 2002.
"Even so, there's 13 of them," Haechan said and revolved the pen around his fingers. It had passed 5 PM already but no one was interested to stop and head over to the races, Jeno and Chenle were looking through social media pages to look for any Park Heesung that suited the age.
"How many did you find so far?" Renjun asked.
"We have only six boys, I say we start going to them so we know whom to focus on and whom not to," Jaemin suggests and Haechan nods in understanding, his pointer finger going to push his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.
"Well, Renjun and Chenle, you two start going to these few boys that we know about, don't creep up on them, just ask them if they know about, uhm, what was that game again?"
"Ilomilo," Myunghee told the boy.
"Yeah, that. The game was quite underrated so it's easier that way, and if they say that they do know the game, ask them if they ever reached the second last level, from what I know, the game is quite difficult, so there aren't many chances," Haechan spoke so efficiently, it was a first time, seeing him leading the rest as an intellectual and that made Myunghee respect him a tad bit more.
"Thank you," Myunghee said.
"Tell me that when we find him," Haechan said back with a smile.
"Alright then, c'mon Chenle," Renjun said and they lifted the little list Haechan gave them, folding the piece and leaving the house.
"They took six of them right? Jeno, you take these four with you, I'll be joining you," Haechan said and handed a list of names and addresses to Jeno.
"Myunghee and Jaemin, you two take these 3 names and tell us if you find anything."
They went to the outdoors in hopes of finding whom they were looking for with a long list of names. It felt a bit absurd, to look for someone whom you had no attachment with for atleast 9 years.
Jaemin made sure to not leave Myunghee's side even once, hoping she wouldn't give in to any temptations that could further tarnish her life again, she held onto his shirt as they rode down the streets, her hair flying with the wind, eyes squinted as she kept herself close to his body. They reached two of the places only to return back disappointed.
It was the last straw for them till Jeno called the two.
"Any news?" Jaemin asked, Myunghee was seated on his bike while he stood by it with his phone, talking to Jeno.
"Nope, forget news, the Heesungs I met didn't even know a game like Ilomilo existed," Jeno said and faint noises of Haechan grumbling could be heard making Jaemin bite his lips in thought.
"It's alright, we still have one more guy, once done can we meet somewhere outside?" Jaemin asked.
"Hmm, how about the little coffee shop, it opened beside Myunghee's place, it should be nice there, Myunghee might cheer up too," Jeno said, voice a bit dull as none of them were even close to finding the boy.
"Yeah sure," Jaemin said and they both told their byes before disconnecting.
Jaemin turned to look at the girl, she was still on the backseat of his bike, her hands clasped together, Jaemin's attention fell at her shaking hands, he knew how hard it was for her to instantly give up on nicotine but he didn't want to compromise, knowing it was the right thing to do.
Jaemin held her hands tightly, making her look up at him. His thumb caressed her shaking hands, her nerves calming down and she sighed.
"Hey, don't lose hope like that, if it's meant to be then we will find him," Jaemin told her, shaking her fists gently till she loosened up.
Jaemin inched closer and just waited, looking at her closely, noses brushing every few seconds till Myunghee closed the gap in between, pecking his lips and making him smile wide.
"Let's go to the last one now."
"Anything?" Chenle asked Renjun who was already famished and annoyed.
"Why didn't we take our bikes? Or our wallets?" Renjun complained for the fifth time since they left the house.
"You were the one all pumped up, you left the house without any second thoughts, I tried stopping you but you only yelled at me, how is it my faul-"
"You know what? Zip it, I'll just keep walking till my feet fall off," Renjun carped but Chenle pout his lips, wrapping an arm around the older's shoulder.
"Oh c'mon, we're almost done," he cooed to his older who looked to his side, his eyes softening in seeing the younger, the act making him scoff before lacing his arm over the other's shoulder and continuing to walk.
Chenle got the same call from Jeno and disappointed, the two walked all the way to the newly opened Cafe beside Myunghee's house.
When Renjun and Chenle entered the shop, it felt like a bliss, the feeling of cold air hit their skin right as they set foot into the cafe and a moan left their mouths as the both were completely out of breath, a bit sweaty and awfully tired from walking for over three hours.
Myunghee, Jaemin, Jeno and Haechan who already occupied some seats turned when they heard the noise to see two of their friends standing sprawled right at the entrance, feeling the whooshing effect of the air con.
Haechan choked on his macchiato and coughed out a laugh as Renjun and Chenle managed to not only catch their attention but the attention of everyone else at the new cafe too.
Renjun felt eyes on him from his peripheral vision and his hand quickly went to the nape of his neck in embarrassment. He scanned the room and walked to his friends in quick steps.
"You guys are so dead for laughing," Renjun said and took his seat beside the four while Chenle did the same. They looked exhausted, making Myunghee gaze at them in guilt.
"You guys must've been tired," Myunghee said.
"And that's completely his fault," Chenle said, his left hand fanning himself and pointing at Renjun. Before Renjun could even retort, they took a while to glare at each other.
"Your coffees are here," Jeno told the boys who then smiled in glee at the waitress.
Haechan bit his lip as he revolved the little spoon in his cup of macchiato.
"Sorry Myunghee, I didn't think it would end up this way," Haechan said, his round glasses sliding lower and lower down his nose before Jeno pushed it up himself.
"Hey, I wasn't completely expecting a positive result so it isn't any of our faults, I guess I'll just, forget," Myunghee said and sipped on her drink.
"I'm paying today," Myunghee said, bringing back the smile they loved in her but Jaemin knew she was pretending, only to keep the rest happy.
Jaemin's hand held hers under the table as he sipped on his americano, the small gesture making Myunghee's heart flutter and this time her smile was genuine.
