Candles were lit around the square room and one in the middle of the little circle the friends formed as they sat on the floor.
"How did it feel Myunghee? The first time you won," Chenle asked and Myunghee smiled.
"It felt great and when I saw you guys excited it only made things better," Myunghee said and Renjun gave a soft smile at her words.
"I'm hungry," Chenle whispered but loud enough for them to hear and right then a large thunder was heard.
"I don't think we can go out anytime soon, we weren't even expecting something of this sort so food is out of the question, at least for a little while," Jeno said
A large thunder was heard again and Haechan who was sitting next to Myunghee jumped, his hand holding the girl's arm and Myunghee acted on instinct, patting the top of his head. Jeno looked towards Jaemin who already had his eyes on the two.
"Let's play something to get rid of the fear if that helps," Chenle suggested.
"Horror stories?" Haechan suggested while Myunghee kept patting his head softly, she stopped right when the boy mentioned horror only to smack the top of his head.
"You're shaking after thunder and you want more fright?" She complained and Haechan whined before escaping her hold.
It felt awfully cold and the towel around Myunghee wasn't all too helpful either.
"You're all shivering," Renjun said, the boys were in the tank tops they wore to play in the water, as for Myunghee, her crop top was only making her colder.
"Our jackets are right there you could change," Renjun told to Chenle who was in the worst condition, his feet shaking as the boy was sensitive to the cold.
"You guys can change if you want, Myunghee, you wanna go first?" Jeno asked but she refused seeing how bad Chenle's state was.
"Fine then, you guys get changed quick, Myunghee turn away," Jeno said and she nodded as her lips quivered from the cold, she turned on her back so she couldn't see the guys changing, shuffling was heard and belts were being clipped on, she shut her eyes so as to not even see their shadows.
"We're done," She heard simultaneously and Myunghee turned back to face the boys who zipped up their jackets, Jaemin looked pale as he rubbed his palms in an attempt to feel warm.
"Turn around kids," she called out though being the youngest.
The boys sat down and faced the other way as Myunghee changed into her jeans and jacket. The world outside got darker as night time came through and the room looked a shade of orange from all of the candles.
Jaemin rubbed his palms furiously as he felt chilly inside, his eyes opening momentarily as he blowed into his closed fists to warm them, accidently noticing the girls shadow on the wall in front of him. Her arms over her head as she took off her top and Jaemin's eyes widened, he looked down to his feet instantly and tried shaking the thought away as he waited for her to finally finish, the drumming of his heart making him cuss under his breath.
"I'm done," she said and pulled her bomber jacket closet to her body as she felt warmer than before.
"Truth or dare, Haechan," Chenle called out as they sat ina circle once again.
"If you could time travel to a certain age, what would it be?" Chenle asked.
"Oo, I'd wanna go back to 16," Haechan said.
"Aw, to relive the first time you met us at the arena?" Renjun asked.
"Nop, to avoid it," Haechan said and stuck his tongue out.
"Truth or dare, Jaemin, if you could erase a certain event from your life what would it be?" Haechan asked.
"Falling over in front of the elementary kids, first day of school and flashing them with my He- man shorts," Jaemin said, his eyes slightly widening as he thought of the moment and chuckles were heard.
"Myunghee," Jeno called and she turned to the boy.
"Dare," she said beforehand and Haechan who was next to her smirked devilish.
"Staring contest," Haechan suggested.
"With whom?" Chenle asked and Jeno didn't even think before looking at Jaemin.
"Myunghee vs Jaemin," Renjun said and clapped. The two nonchalantly sat closer so they could play when Haechan spoke up.
"First person to blink or look away, likes the other person more," he said and cooed with Chenle but the two simply sat face to face.
"Ready," Renjun said and both of them closed their eyes.
"Start," Jaemin opened his eyes and saw her stare back at him, the two had their eyes lidded to make things easier for them, maintaining eye contact for as long as possible.
Jaemin thought back to Haechan's words and gulped visibly making Renjun and Jeno smirk.
Myunghee was alright, fairly composed. She maintained proper eye contact and felt her breath hitch when Jaemin's eyes shook. His eyes stared into her orbs and another gulp followed as he felt his breath stopping when he saw her heavy lidded eyes.
And in a split second, he blinked. Myunghee didn't understand the intensity of the situation when she smiled merrily at the win.
Jaemin had been more unwavered about his stares on her from time to time after that little game, even when she spoke, smiled, joked around with his friends, he simply stared at the girl and whenever they made eye contact, he never looked away. Letting her know how he watched her intently but she only smiled and went back to whatever she was doing. It continued for a while till Jaemin felt shifting next to him and turned to see Jeno.
"This is what happens when you try to ignore your feelings," Jeno said, not looking at the boy but at two of his friends, Myunghee and Chenle joking around while shading Haechan who joined their diss battle.
"Why again?" Jaemin said as he shut his eyes, feeling frustration kick him in the head.
"It can't always be wrong Jaemin, no one has seen you the way she does ever since you changed, you were rude to others and they were rude in return, but I didn't feel that in her, not once," Jeno spoke softly, hoping Jaemin would understand.
"I know, and that's what scares me."
