Percy woke up, sweating and panting from the nightmare he was having. He had been having the same nightmare for years now, and yet it never failed to scare him. Every night, it was the same haunting scene replaying in his mind, leaving him drenched in sweat and gasping for breath.

He got off the bed, his shirt clinging to his body, damp and uncomfortable, and walked towards the dining room to get some water. The silence of the night gave the house an eerie feeling, with shadows dancing on the walls and every creak of the floorboards amplifying the stillness. Percy trudged towards the refrigerator and took out a cold bottle of water, the chill seeping into his hands, offering a momentary relief.

"Hey."

A voice suddenly rang through the empty rooms, startling Percy and making him almost drop the bottle.

"Can't sleep?" the voice asked again, closer this time, the familiarity of it sending a shiver down Percy's spine.

Percy nodded, swallowing hard. "What about you? Can't sleep either?"
"I was sleeping. But I've to leave now, so..." the voice trailed off, filled with an unsettling calmness.

"Why?" Percy asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Hazel should not know that I was here," the voice replied, a hint of regret lacing the words.

"How long do you plan on continuing with this? Coming only at night and leaving by dawn? Even though you are here, Hazel misses you," Percy said, frustration creeping into his tone.

"I will be back... soon," the voice promised, but the words felt hollow, echoing in the empty space.

Percy turned around to face the other person, only to see no one was there. The room was empty, save for the flickering shadows. He sighed, the weight of his thoughts pressing down on him. "He will never go back to being what he was..."

Percy missed the old days, days before the accident that had fractured their lives. Not that he remembered much about it, but the sense of loss was a constant companion. There had been no news from Annabeth, and Nico still blamed himself for what had happened. Hazel and Frank rarely interacted properly, despite living under the same roof. It was as if the accident had driven a wedge between them all, leaving them to navigate their grief and guilt in isolation.

Everyone seemed to be blaming themselves for his partial memory loss. Everyone except one. Leo. It was only because of Leo that they were still together, clinging to the fragile threads of their bond. Leo had a way of keeping the group grounded, his relentless optimism a beacon in their darkest moments.

Percy sighed again, a deep, weary sound. "How did things get so messed up?" he asked the silence, knowing it held no answers. The night stretched on, and he was left alone with his thoughts, the weight of their shared past a burden he couldn't shake.
