02 | SO, WHAT DOES THE SENATE DO?
As stated, the Senate takes on a lot of tasks in the community. While these are ever-changing, and new ones arise frequently as we come up with new ways to get people engaged, we've compiled a general, non-extensive list of things Senators do. The cool thing about this is that nobody is confined to a specific task. Want to dabble in graphic design? You can do that! Want to also judge a contest? Sure! Not so big on writing magazine articles? That's alright!
Again, this list isn't extensive, but when you join the Senate, here are some things you–yes, you!–could do to help the community keep running!
Account administration
Graphic design
Magazine article writing
Magazine contributions
One-shot or flash fiction writing
Comment moderation
Contest judging
Playlist orchestrating
Brainstorming new activities and innovations for the community!
Hello, I'm Rose, the founder of this community, and I'm here with some more in depth information about your potential role in the community!
The senate roles come in three tiers: The Praetors, The Cabin Councilors, and The Demigods. These jobs are separated into their tiers by difficulty and commitment level and have no level of authority when joining the senate. It's just an easy way to remember the roles.
The Praetors → This level of commitment is the highest, spending at least an hour a week involved with the community- and it could be more depending on how many activities are happening that week or month. (EX: Magazine Week is always a lot busier than Capture the Flag)
These members tend to take initiative and spend more time on their own doing tasks than with other members- though communication is still a key point.
