When CAROLINE SAUNDERS escaped the Dominican Republic and took an English name, Mexico was never her first choice of destinations. After sneaking onto the wrong ship, however, she found herself stuck on the mainland of the New World all alone. With a bounty on her head, a couple of dresses and a hair clip, she's more than ready to start her own life. That is, of course, if she can successfully avoid her new neighbors.

AURELIO BRAVO had sailed for months on La Santa, a majestic trading vessel headed for the newly colonized territory of Mexico. Being fed up with the prosecution of his family's religion, he and his big sister Esmeralda left their parents behind to find salvation in the New World. After months of seasickness, vomiting off the sides of La Santa and questioning his life decisions, Aurelio's sure that nothing will go wrong. ....right?

ICHIBANGASE HIMIKO, part of Japan's 3.5% of female samurai, has had an infuriating difficult time finding work in Edo. After a wealthy Spanish couple hires her as a guardsman, Himiko starts to think everything will be ok. That is, of course, until she realizes her new employers have only hired  her because they thought it would raise their reputation to employ a foreign worker. Now jobless, she's traveled all over, just looking for... something. Anything.

CIHUATON is tired of being pushed around. As the grandchild of an Aztec noble, she should have been living like a princess. Instead, she finds herself and her nation dissolved into the Spanish Empire, her identity being forcibly stripped away. She feels useless. That is, until, she boards a Spanish ship out of spite, not realizing the ship isn't going anywhere. There, she finds something that will change the course of her- and maybe even her family's- entire life.
