𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙞𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝

The girl sat in the hospital hand in hand with the brunette listening to the beeping of the monitor while patiently waiting for the boy to wake up.

John B shuffled a bit before his eye's slowly opened, he clearly was very confused and in pain.

"Hi." She smiled biting her lip

"Hi." He mumbled back " where am I?"

" Saint olives, he fell from the hawks nest. Do you have a concussion and a broken wrist." She informed the boy

"Woah." He stared at the dark blur cats on his wrist "I need to get out of here. DCS is gonna find me—"

"Hang ok kid, hang on." Ward walked in "Selena told me everything, about your little adventure, about you running from DCS and you protecting her at the tower."

The 2 glanced at each other Selena giving him a
smile

"John I believe I owe you an apology. You were honest with me about a small indiscretion, but I went ahead and fired you anyway." Ward admitted "I shouldn't have, unfortunately for me from time to time, I have a really short fuse. Go ahead and ask her."

"It's true."

"I'd like to make up for it if you'd let me, I talk to sheriff Peterkin and i've offered to be your legal guardian if you'd let me?" He offered

"What?" John was in shock

"I'd mean putting a roof over your head and no more run from the DCS."

"Sure, yeah, uh....sounds good." He smiled

" OK, then it's settled. Welcome to the family." Ward chuckled lightly

"I sadly have to go, but my dad will take to our house later, okay?" Selena reassured the boy

"Yeah, yeah, that's fine." He replied

"Bye." She gave him a kiss int he forehead before walking out the hospital room

"So this is your room." She lead him into the bedroom

"Woah."

"It's not to shabby huh?" Selena smiled

"Yeah not to shabby at all."

"And my room is just upstairs if you were wondering-, are you okay?" She asked the boy

"Yeah, no, I'm good, I'm good, I got it." He groaned and Selena chuckled

"But I do have to warn you."

"Uh-oh."

"Sarah, sleep walks, so if she ends up in your room in the middle of the night."

"Do I just roll with it?"

"Yeah." She leaned in but quickly pushed back when her fathers voice approached the room

"Selena Michelle Cameron. You have already broken the first rule, which is, stay out of each others rooms." He explained " all right, seriously, picture that as a boundary, this is a mindfield. Yes sir?"

"Yes sir." The 2 replied

" OK Selena give me and the new in-mate some private time please." Ward asked

"Be nice." She smiled "see ya B John." She winked

Selena pulled out a book reading it due to the lack of things to do around the mansion. She heard some talking outside but just assumed it was Rafe so she ignored it and continued reading, that's until she heard the loud groan.

At first she thought she was hearing things but then she heard whimpering and walked outside to find he brother in the ground holding his wrist.

"Holy shit, Rafe, what happened." She said running towards his body she noticed the giant red burn on his wrist and gasped

"Holy fuck, who did that." She got no answer but went inside for water and a bandage.

"I'm fine Selena." He muttered

"That doesn't look fine to me." She poured water int he burn and he winced a bit. She wrapped the bandage around his wrist

"Now Can you tell me what happened." She asked her voice full of worry

"I just burned my hand on the bike." He muttered as Selena looked up but saw no sign of the bike

"And where even is your bike?"

"Someone stole it."

"Are you kidding me?" The girl shouted rubbing the beings of her knees "Whatever, at least your okay." She sighed rolling her eye's

"Thanks Lena." He looked up at the girl

"Yeah, he careful alright." She said walking back inside the house. She sat back down at the table reading her book till something else interrupted her, or someone.

"Hey." Topper said awkwardly while Selena just gave him a death stare "how's John B? Is he alright?"

"Like you give shit." She muttered

"Okay you realize I didn't push him, he lost his balance and fell."

"Bullshit."

" he fell against the rail. It wasn't my fault."

"You are seriously messed up topper, like mentally." She scowled standing up form her spot and walking away

"Why were you even there in the first place!" She shouted

"Because I was worried when you weren't in your bed and-"

"You were inside my room last night?" She said disgusted "what the hell is wrong with you."

"I love you okay, I always have." He admitted

"What the fuck, you can't just be saying that type of shit, your my fucking sister's boyfriend!" She shouted

"I know but-"

"No, but's. stay the hell away for me and my sister in fact stay away from my whole entire fucking family. After last night, I don't think I can ever even look at you the same." She yelled walking away from the blonde

"Oh...after last night? You wanna talk about last night?"

"Yeah, of course." She said sarcastically

"Did you forget then part when you kissed a Pogue! Your a slut, you know that, a slut!"  He yelled

"Hey! Watch your mouth when you talk to my daughter!" Ward suddenly yelled

"Your daughters banging a Pogue-" Ward lifted the boy up by his neck which caused Selena to panic

"Dad." The man muttered something to topper before shoving him out the door while his daughter began to sob

"Come here." He whispered pulling his daughter into a hug

"I need to go talk to Sarah." She whispered

"Okay, that's alright." Her dad replied letting go of the girl

She made her way up the stairs and finally to her room where she softly knocked 3 times. Sarah opened the door with a wide grin but that disappeared when she realized the distress her sister was in

"Oh my god, Selena. Are you okay?" She asked pulling the girl into a hug

"I need to talk to you." Selena held back the rest of her tears and sat on Sarah bed

"Yeah of course, what's wrong?"

"It's about topper."

"What the hell did he do you to you." She asked anger filling her voice

"So, he came back like 5 minutes and tried to explain something he did but I'd don't let him, one thing lead to another and he dia she loved me. I don't why or what but he ended up calling me a slut and-" she broke down again in her sisters

"Oh my god, I gonna talk to him about this okay. Don't let him get to you." Sarah said to her sister Who's eye's where now bloodshot read and puffy

"Okay, thank you, I mean it." She smiled

"Of course, that's what sister are for." Sarah replied pulling the girl into a hug. After a 30 mitines of the Sarah cheering up her twin Selena left and went outside to get some air but really she got on her bike to go to John B's house.

"Hey Lena, we need to talk." He said quietly

"Alright." She replied

"So me and the crew went to find the gold at the Crain house and I think we found a spot where it is."

" so you found the gold."

"Yes."

" but under a axe murderer's house."

"Well- yeah, uh- kind of."

"Well that's absolutely perfect."

" I mean, the only problem is the well is super sketchy deep."

" kind a wish I was there with you guys."

"Well, you'll be there for real tonight." He smiled but worry filled her body

"Is that okay?"

"Yeah of course, Vlad and Adele gotta be together. Right?" He chuckled

"No, no, I mean with the others."

"Yeah." She gave him a pointed look "what?"

"Kiara said something didn't she." She raised a brow

"No."

" you're the worst liar i've ever met."

"I'm not lying."

" look, B John if she's gonna get territorial—"

"Hey, hey, hey, just listen. All right. You're a part of this too, you got to the Tanneyhill map. Once we all get together it's gonna be exciting OK. I promise." He reassured

"Fine, but she's probably gonna go off on me. That's gonna he on you B John." She giggled

" no effing way, you brought her here, so what is she in on this too!" Kiara shouted and John B looked at pope for back up

"I dunno." Pope muttered

" look, all I care about is that her cut come from your share." JJ explained

"You know I don't remember taking a vote. this is our thing, a Pogue thing." Kiara said to John B
while Selena day there awkwardly

" I just got to say, I'm a tad bit uncomfortable with all this." Pope spoke up

"Thank you!"

"Since when are you not." John fired back

" well I don't know, I rode here on the back of JJ's bike pretty comfortably." Pope snapped

"That's true, most relaxed I've ever seen him." JJ Confirmed popes words

"That's cute guys." John B scoffed

" you know, we were all extremely comfortable till you brought her."

"Please stop talking about me like I'm not here!" Selena finally spoke up

"Then leave."

"I told you." Selena rolled her eye's

"Told him what exactly, that your a liar.-"

"No, that your a fucking child and I can't get over what happened between you and my sister months ago! I'm not my sister okay so grow the hell up!"

"Oh shit." JJ and Pope muttered betting on the 2 girls

The selena and Kiara continued bickering till John B shouted to 'shut up'

"Kie, you're my best friend, right?" He said towards kiara who just shrugged

"And Selena my you're, you're my......"

"Say it." She smiled

"You're my girlfriend." He chuckled softly

"Ooh, that's new." Pope whispered

"She's your girlfriend now? What was all that talk saying that we were just using her for information" Kiara furrowed her brows absolutely furious at the boy "get the map, cut her loose."

"You said you were using me?" Betrayal filled Selena's body as John B scratched his head

"No."

"Yeah you did."

"Yeah, you said all those things."

" look, the love just walked in, OK." John B shouted

"Oh, vomit." Kiara scoffed

"It just— it just happened, okay? And I'm not gonna deny it. Right?" He admitted

"Oh, that's corny." Pope whispered

"Look, cut the bullshit John B, if she's in, I'm out." Kiara said

"Oh for fuck sake." Selena muttered

"Kie, I'm not doing this, I can't!" John B replied

"You are gonna decide. Actually I'm very curious. Me or her." Kiara shouted

"Both."

"Ooh." Pope mumbled

"When for the Hail Mary." JJ whispered

"Noo!" Pope whispered as Kiara walked out the porch

"It'll be fun, right? Well I'm gonna go." Selena stood up against John B'a protest "let y'all chat, let me know."

Selena grew impatient with the boy and started banging on the floorboard above her.

"John let me out! I'm serious, let me out." She shouted and once the board finally opened it revealed Kiara and her expression dropped.

"Fuck." Selena muttered climbing out the whole she was in to the nose of the boat shouting at the boys who slowly disappeared into the sunset.

"Get back here, I'm gonna kill you!" Kiara shouted Stripping down to Bikini Along with Selena.

Selena jumped into the water but groaned as they weren't turning back "Damn it." Selena cursed as the boys we're way too far for her to catch up to them.

She suddenly felt excruciating pain on her side and let out a shriek. Kiara stood there watching the brunette whimper in pain calling her 'dramatic'

"Fuck, I got stung by a jelly fish." Selena said climbing up the ladder revealing a nasty red Mark.

"I mean swimming to a man-o-war I don't know what you expected." Kiara scoffed

" yeah, thank you captain obvious." Selena scoffed hoping onto the boat. "Since you're no help, where the fuck is that blunt."

Selena when inside the boat cabin and finally found a little box with a lighter and a blunt inside. She smiled and took it out quickly Lighting it and taking a hit, this immediately made her pain feel better.

"Wanna hit?" She offered to kiara who rolled her eye's before grabbing it and also taking a hit.

The day grew Dark in the Outer Banks and the girls continued there overnight stay on the boat. Neither of them talk to each other much sense the tension was extremely high between the both of them.

"Like is so pointless, what are we suppose to do? You're a bitch and I'm just want to find some gold." Kiara sneered

" you're the one to talk. Like seriously You're making your best friend choose for god sake." Selena scoffed

" yeah well it's hard to team up with someone who used boys, and then cheat on them. Like seriously you're the most toxic person I've ever met." Kiara snapped back

"That was years ago."

" it was literally five months ago dumbass."

" why the hell does it matter how long ago it was. I'm not like that now."

"Yeah right, keep telling yourself that. Your probably just using John B too."

"Kiara I got pregnant." Selena admitted and Kiara froze

"What?"

" I stopped using boys because I got pregnant and had to abort the baby. you don't realize the fear I was in when I read that test and it said positive. And the way you're talking to me now just makes me feel like an even worse person." She sobbed

"Holy shit, have you told John B?" She asked in a worried tone

"I Haven't even told Sarah, How the hell do you expect me to say " hey I had a kid but decided to kill it because I was too young." To somebody." She said tears flowing down her eye's likes river

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know." Kiara said sadly

"I've been through a lot and I'm just sick of it, do you know how close I was to killing myself. But you, kiara where the reason I became a better person." She looked at the brunette with bloodshot eye's

"I'm so sorry." Kiara sniffled pulling the girl into a hug "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you."

"It's fine."

"I love you." Kiara smiled

"Love you too. And I miss you, Sarah does too." Selena hugged the girl tighter

"I miss her too."

Kiara and Selena grabbed a few blankets and pillows and laid them down on the boat floor. That night the 2 Stared at the stars while giggling at there stupid jokes.

"Hey, Selena."

"Hey, Kiara."

"Promise me you won't bail on John B. He's not just some other guy. And he really, really likes you."

"I won't, I promise."

"And also, tell Sarah I'm sorry."

"For what?"

" for calling the cops on her birthday party."

"I knew it, you bitch." Selena giggled

" she should've invited me to her birthday party." Kiara laughed

"So you called the cops!"

"Yes." The 2 laughed till they had tears dripping down their face and their stomachs hurt like hell.

Oct 2022: before y'all start, yes I am very self aware about the sheer disgrace that was this chapter, I apologize to all who had to endure the lost cliche and stupid plot twist but I was a beginner writer okay😭idk what I was thinking tbh. Honestly this whole book in general is just a big old ick..very sorry if this is ur first time reading
