"You see Mr L/N, that is why you are needed for this task" Murn finished, explaining why he and Rose had been conscripted for this mission. Blah, blah, aliens, blah blah, world domination, blah blah kill people. You know, the usual kill people for the sake of the world stick that every mission undertaken by Task Force X normally follows. "And you have been recruited for your skills" Y/N began rattling the chains connecting his feet. "Knowledge" the mercenary did the same with his hands. "And your, would you please, stop, doing, that!" Murn asked, raising his voice somewhat causing Y/N to stop. 

Y/N raised his finger slightly then lowered it when he didn't have a response. "So, you need me and one eyed Rose to kill a few people possessed by aliens?" Y/N summed up the situation. 

"Yes" Murn responded as he reached into files. "We have located several targets that are Butterfly hot spots, prominent Butterflies in power, gathering location, the usual" Murn explained, showing a few pages, one of a US Senator and his family. "You, Ravager and Peacemaker-"

"Hold the fuck up" Y/N cut across surprise at the name being brought up. "Fucking who?" 

"Christopher Smith, Peacemaker. Wears a stupid helmet, peace at any cost, kinda a jackass" Economos explained getting a look from Murn. 

"That fucking idiot?" Y/N half shouted surprised they'd recruit him of all people. "So you've recruited two expert mercenaries and an idiot" Y/N summed up. 

"Well, one expert and two idiots" Economos scoffed causing Y/N to give a 'I'll kill you' look at him. 

"Enough" Murn said trying to take control of the conversation. "You and Ravager will be sharing a motel room not too far from our base of operations. We'll take you there as soon as possible" Murn said nodding to Economos who brought a needle with some green liquid inside. 

"Oh shit, oh fuck" Y/N said, trying to back up from his seat but to no avail. "Why the hell are you knocking me out, can't you just drive me there?".

"Rose Wilson was rather......not responsive with being driven there. Plus we wouldn't want you know the location of a secret government base now would we?" Murn said as Economos drew closer and closer. 

"You back the fuck up" Y/N said as the needle was nearing his exposed neck. "I swear to God" he warned again. 

"Hehe" Economos chuckled as the needle penetrated Y/N's skin. "He really does have a fear of needles" he added, acknowledging one of the notes they had of Y/N on file. 

"I dononononon" Y/N words became slurred as he felt the whole world starting to get dizzy. Everything was spinning and started to duplicate, eyes growing heavy. "Diiiiiiiiccckkkkk" he whispered before sleep over took him. 

Economos was still chuckling was he backed up, seeing the mercenary knocked out completely. Although his smile started to fade as he realised something; "So how do we get him there?" he asked turning to Murn. 

"You carry him" Murn clarified as he left, expecting Economos to follow him. The ginger haired man turned to Y/N, who was out cold now. 

"Fuck" the man swore to himself, beginning to unchain Y/N as he knew this would take a while. 

When Y/N felt his eyes flicker open it felt like one hell of a hangover but without the ringing. He groaned as he realised he was half laying down on a bed, one foot tangling off the edge. He was dressed in jeans a plain black shirt, but he slowly picked himself up rubbing his eyes trying to think go what happened. 

"Daw fuck" he swore sitting up taking in his surroundings. It was defiantly a motel, and it looked like it had seen better days.  The walls looked like they were painted a neutral colour a few years ago as the paint had faded slightly. With some framed abstract art next to a windows no bigger than a keg of beer.

There were two twin beds positioned side by side against one wall. Each bed had a simple stained wooden and a headboard with a basic design. The bedding appeared to be clean and crisp, with freshly laundered sheets, a lightweight blanket, and a few pillows for each bed. But if you took a blacklight to the sheets that would probably be quite a few bodily stains. 

A Tv in the corner that looked like it got five channels, and thank God a bathroom. Exiting the bathroom was none other than Rose Wilson, who looked at Y/N without a care. 

"So, you're up" was all she said, going to her phone to text Murn that the idiot was awake. 

"When did I get here?" Y/N asked, still slightly groggy from whatever they had drugged him with. 

"About two hours ago, the guy with the dyed beard dropped you off. We have to meet up with them at a diner, in about half an hour" Rose explained as she lazily sat on her bed. 

Y/N stood up, trying to get his strength back and body working. "So, me and you sharing a room. You know it's almost like-" before Y/N could finish Rose cut him off. 

"You try anything I'll slit your dick off" Rose threatened turning her head to Y/N who went wide eyed and looked away. 'Christ who pissed in her cornflakes' Y/N thought to himself. 

"All I was gonna say it's like they want us to think of an escape plan" Y/N tried to reason as he started to stretch his arms over his head. 

"Did you forget about the bombs in our necks?" Rose shot down. 

"Shit" Y/N said realising she was right. "Well what about-"

"We can't take them hostage, there's someone who also has her trigger on the bombs Amanda Waller" she said once again shot down the plan Y/N was going to say. Ah yes Amanda Waller, the mastermind behind Task Force X and the whole of A.R.G.U.S. Y/N had luckily never met the woman in person, but he heard from Kiteman and Condiment King that she was a mean bitch in person. 

"Well, I'm outta ideas" Y/N said defeated going to lay down on his bed. 

"You literally came up with two ideas" Rose said looking over the fellow mercenary. 

"And?" Y/N replied. 

Rose just rolled her eyes as she was the one who stood up from her bed. She stretched her arms to get her joints loose and then turned her attention to to a large bag that was situated just underneath the TV. Moving over to the bag, Rose pulled out a few rolls of cash and guns. "They've supplied us with some cash to live off, and our gear. But limited ammo" she said, inspecting the magazines. 

"Huh" Y/N sounded. "They forget anything?" he asked as Rose looked deeper into the bag. 

"Besides my favourite knife nothing major, your mask is even here" she said throwing it over to Y/N but it lazily flopped next to him. 

"You really just threw something at a defenceless blind man?" Y/N asked with a raised eyebrow. 

"Can you drop the blind thing, you're not actually blind" Rose explained as she inspected some of the documents and information included with the bag. 

"How do you know?" 

"Because there's a big note in here that says 'he's not blind, he just says it cause he thinks it's funny' in red lettering" Rose informed holding the letter up. "Also cause you look directly at people when they talk, and use a sniper. I don't a blindman would use a fucking sniper rifle" she added, literally throwing a sniper rifle from the bag. 

"That could be anyones sniper rifle" Y/N tried to argue. In response, Rose turned the rifle over. Showing that the top of the scope was marked with a small red x, and a similar marking on the magazine attached to the rifle. "Okay fair point, but I stand by myself. I am blind" he once again tried to argue. "You know this whole situation reminds of the time me and Power Girl banged" Y/N said out of nowhere. 

"I'm sorry, what the fuck did you say?" Rose asked, her face showing that the statement caught Y/N completely by surprise. 

"I banged Power Girl once in a motel, we worked together to take down Metallo once. One thing lead to another and we you know" Y/N rolled his hips forward simulating what exactly he and the hero did once they got to a motel. 

Rose just rolled her eyes in annoyance. "So, if we're gonna share a room we should lay down a few ground rules" she stated leaning against the wall close to the bathroom, completely ignoring his statement garnering Y/N's attention as he sat up. "First things first, you stay dressed the entire time. I don't wanna come back from a walk or something and see your balls" she explained. 

"Why would I ever just hang out in the room naked?" Y/N asked rolling his eyes. 

"I don't know, you're you" Rose went on. "Second rule, you take showers after me. I don't want you using all the hot water" Rose continued. 

"We could always, share the shower?" Y/N asked giving Rose a certain look. Rose simply threw a knife which wizzed passed Y/N's head an stabbed into the wall behind him. 

"That brings me to rule three, you try any funny stuff and I'll-"

"Slit my dick off I get it" Y/N sighed. "So, how exactly are we supposed to get to this diner?" he asked standing up. 

"They uhhhhh" Rose went to the bag, pulling out some keys. "Gave us a car". 

The 'car' was a piece of utter crap. A black 1994 mustang that's a piece of shit to be precise. While the car would look if it had work done, but it was rusted in certain spots, and even the right door was replaced because it was a completely different colour to the rest of the car. Rose insisted that she be the one driving, more because she didn't trust Y/N to get them to a place down the rode safely. The thing didn't even have a working radio, which seemed to annoy Y/N more than anything. Eventually they got to the diner named Fennel Fields. Thankfully neither was dressed in costume and just average clothing, because otherwise they'd stick out like a sore thumb. 

Entering the diner, Y/N and Rose eventually found Murn and Economos sat with two women. One woman sat next to Murn, looking over the menu, and other was a blonde bombshell. Rose sat next to the blonde while Y/N sat next to the other woman with curly black hair. 

"Pleasure to see you again Murn, dickhead" Y/N said looking towards Economos. He then turned to the woman sitting next to him. "Y/N L/N Red X, nice to meet you" he said offering his hand out. 

"Adebayo" she said taking the hand and shaking it. 

Y/N then turned to the blonde sat on the opposite end. "Hey" he greeted with a role of the eyes. 

"Go fuck yourself" the blonde named Harcourt greeted raising her left middle finger also. 

"Noted" Y/N said knowing that she was someone probably not in dating. 

"We're currently awaiting the arrival of Peacemaker, in the meantime order some food and try to blend in" Murn suggested but came off more like an order. When the waitress came over everyone ordered, and it gave Y/N an indication the personality of everyone sitting at the table. 

Murn simply stuck with water, meaning he weird as fuck and simple.

Economos ordered an ultimate burger with a bunch of trimmings. He was here for a good time not a long time. 

Adebayo went with a salad. Saying something like she was trying to watch her weight. Good for her, even with people ordering fattening food around her she stuck with her guns. Someone who doesn't like to be pushed around.  

Harcourt for some reason ordered pesto pasta. Of all the pastas on the menu, she went with pesto? Probably someone who knew she was different, but didn't cared what people thought of her. 

Rose? Well she went with a chilli dog, making sure there was a double whiskey and coke coming with that. The chilli dog meaning she liked a bit of spice and danger, and the whiskey probably to do with some inherited alcoholism from her father. 

As for Y/N himself. He decided if the government were paying for this, he'd pig out a bit. Quarter pounder with cheesy fries, and a bowl of beef nachos. Meaning that he ordered whatever the hell he wanted. 

"So, this is the team?" Rose asked looking over everyone on the table. 

"We're still waiting on Smith" Murn repeated sounding slightly frustrated. 

"Does he really count though?" Y/N asked leaning on the table to look at Murn. 

"Yeah the man wears a fucking toilet seat on his head" Rose added, this caused her and Y/N to look at each other. The first thing they can agree on, that Peacemaker is a moron. Soon enough however, the man of the hour pulled up outside. In a God Damn American Flag covered car, and the first thing everyone noticed as he stepped out the car. 

"Did this dip shit really show in full cosplay mode?" Economos asked shovelling some fries into his mouth. He was dressed in his usual outfit, white trousers, red shirt with a blue collar and bird symbol on the chest. And the mighty, shiny toilet seat on his head. 

"This is one of the guys Waller's giving us. With horny over here and depressed emo I told you she's fucking us" Harcourt spoke up causing both mercenaries to glance at her. 

"She's not fucking us" Murn tried to reason. 

"Is that an eagle is his back seat?" Adebayo questioned seeing flap its wings in the car. 

"She's fucking us" Murn agreed.

"The man is an idiot" Rose interjected. "Does he not do discreet". 

Chris then entered the diner, gaining the attention of everyone there. He grabbed a menu from the hostess, and made his way over to the team. Hell he even had his gun strapped to his side for everyone to see. Last thing you do when hunting aliens discreetly is draw attention. 

"Hey scooch" Chris whistled at Y/N. The latter gave Economos a 'i'm gonna murder him look' with the man holding down a chuckle. 

"Why are you in you costume?" Harcourt asked trying to understand the reasoning behind the madness. 

"Costume" Chris laughed. "This is a uniform, and it's brand new so I have to stretch it out make it more comfortable before we go on a mission" he explained. "Why are you these two?" he asked gesturing to Y/N sat next to him and Rose opposite him. 

"Christopher Smith, meet your teammates Y/N L/N, Red X. And Rose Wilson Ravager" Murn introduced with Chris' attention shooting up at the names. 

"Wait, Red X. The blind guy?" he asked causing Y/N to smile and Rose to sigh. 

"He's not blind" Rose and Harcourt said at the same time looking at each other after finishing their sentences. 

"And Ravager" Chris said turning his attention to her. "Is it true your dad let's himself gets fucked in the eye by Batman?"

"Oh" Y/N said reeling back in disgust. 

"What the fuck!" Economos exclaimed. Meanwhile Adebayo's mouth hung open in shock that he just ask that out the blue. 

Rose kept an emotionless face, and turned to Murn. "Can I stab him?" she asked plainly. 

"No we need him" Murn said as equally as emotionless. "Why is there a bald eagle in your car?" Murn asked the question everyone wanted to know the answer to. 

"That's Eagly" he answered simply and picked up one of Y/N's nachos. "You guys order without me?" he asked munching on the nacho getting another 'I'm gonna stab you' look from Y/N. 

"Eagly? Is your pet Eagle?" Economos asked with a smirk with Harcourt holding a similar expression. 

"Do you have a dog named doggy?" Harcourt asked. 

"Do you have a daughter named daughtery?" Economos added causing slightly chuckled around the table even from Y/N and Rose. 

"Enough" Murn ordered. 

"Hey sweet cheeks take my order real quick" Chris called out a nearby waitress getting her attention. With Harcourt, Adebayo and Rose looking unimpressed with his choice of words. "I'll take the mixed cream salad and the garlic zoodles". 

"Zoodles?" the waitress repeated. "Good choice" the waitress said walking off to the kitchen. 

Chris whispered 'good choice' to himself before looking at the looks he was getting from the rest of the team. "Zoodles are zucchini noodles" he clarified thinking that's what everyone was looking at him for. 

"Sweet cheeks? Really?" Rose asked taking a bite out of her chilli dog. 

"Seriously dude?" Adebayo added. 

"She had sweet cheeks it was a compliment" Chris tried to reason, insinuating he meant her actual facial cheeks. 

"Sweet cheeks is your butt" Economos clarified.

"No it's not"

"It is, it's like calling someone sugar tits" Adebayo explained sounding quite annoyed while Murn looked fed up. 

"That's totally inappropriate" Chris said back, still not understanding what he said and what it meant. 

"Exactly I was with Blackfire once, she fried a guy for calling her splenda tits" Y/N butted in, taking a massive bite of his burger. 

"You've been with Blackfire?" Peacemaker asked turning to Y/N while everyone else rolled their eyes collectively. 

"Oh yeah, lots of tongue. She really wanted to know all the languages" Y/N smiled earning disgusted groans from everyone. 

"Speaking of sugar tits, which are small and perky. I think you might have them" Chris said gesturing to Economos angering the man who defiantly dyed his beard. 

"Alright you two that's enough" Murn snapped trying to take control of the conversation once again. "You don't have to be happy with this detail but you do need to treat your soldiers with some respect" he ordered. 

"Yeah?" Chris asked clearly feelings challenged. "I've heard stories how you treat people with respect Murn" he scoffed. "Plenty" he repeated. 

Rose then noticed that someone halfway across the room was starring at the table and more specifically Peacemaker. "I think the bus boy's in love you" she noted, taking another bite and finishing off her dog. 

"Think that's my friend Gut Chase's younger brother" Chris explained as said man gave a wave in their direction and gave off a really creepy smile 

"He as mental issues" Chris went on to clarify. The bus boy then bumped his fists in the air and in response Chris gave off a peace sign. His food then arrived and laid out in front of him. "Ah the old shell game" he said looking down. 

"Take this home and study it" Murn said handing over a file which was an exact copy of the one Y/N and Rose had in their bag back at the motel. "I presume you two have already had a glance at it?" he asked the two receiving a nod from Rose and a confused look from Y/N. 

"What is it?" Chris asked. 

"It's the dossier on the first target" Murn explained as Chris opened it. 

"A U.S senator?" he asked in confusion. 

"Don't open it here" Murn snapped. "But take our word for it the man's a serious threat to the safety of American citizens" he added. But Chris wasn't listening, as he was scoffing down the zoodles like they were his last meal.

"If you're gonna do that please take off Bender's shiny metal ass on your head" Y/N groaned. "You'll probably get dressing all over it". 

"Dressing is easier to get off this helmet than a human lip and that's a fucking fact" Chris sore pointing his blue gloved finger in Y/N's face.  

"Smith just" Murn groaned waving his hand. 

"Fine fuck" Chris gave up, taking the helmet off and putting it down on the table. 

"Are you always gonna be this fucking annoying?" Rose asked taking a sip from her whiskey. 

"Yep" Chris let out in-between scrunching down his zoodles. 

The night went on, and many remarks were made against one another. Mainly between Y/N, Economos and Chris, the three practically traded insults every few minutes much to the annoyance of Murn and enjoyment of Rose. But everyone had to go their separate ways eventually, with Y/N and Rose taking their piece of shit car back to the motel. As they driving however, Y/N spoke up. 

"Any chance we can stop at that gas station?" he asked pointing to the one ahead. 

"Why? We're literally 2 minutes away from the motel" Rose asked slightly confused and annoyed at the seemingly stupid question. 

"First off, beer. Second, screwdriver set to fix this fucking radio" he reasoned. 

Rose looked at Y/N and smiled. "You had me at beer"

Maybe this mission wouldn't be as bad as they both thought. 

End Credits Scene 

At the diner while they were waiting for Peacemaker, Y/N looked on with a smile as Rose devoured her chilli dog. 

"So" he spoke up breaking the silence of the team. "You like shoving long meat into your mouth?" he joked, causing Economos to burst out laughing,  Adebayo to smirk, and Harcourt to cover her mouth to hide her own smile. Rose didn't say a word, moving a hand underneath the table. Next thing Y/N knew, a fork was stabbed into his left leg, causing him to slam his fists not the table. "Fuuuuuuuuucckkkkk" he curse.
