"Yashiro!" Y/n called out while running towards her friend who is currently talking to Akane.
"Oh Y/n-chan!" Yashiro smiled at her. "What's with the rush?" she asked.
"Have you seen Amane-kun anywhere?" Y/n asked as she clutched her chest to catch her breath. Yashiro shook her head sadly in response but Akane raised his hand.
"You mean Yugi?" Akane askes with a distasteful tone lacing on his voice. "He's probably with Yamabuki or whatever."
Y/n deadpanned at Akane, his neverending rivalry with Hanako still applies till now even though he was now living and breathing. She remembered during the School Camp last year, he almost kissed her as hostage to Hanako, luckily she pulled out the "You know, Aoi will be sad if you this kind of thing, what will she do if she finds out?"
Y/n got out of the building and saw that there are a lot of students scattering around to different stalls. It was very crowded and she looked like she was about to pass out. She shook her head. "No I need to find Amane." she said.
She felt a wave of deja vu just by saying that. It was like the similar situation that happened last year after encountering the Clock Keepers.
Y/n doesn't want to think that Amane was avoiding her because of what happened yesterday, but she wanted to confront him so things won't be awkward and they can go back to being bestfriends.
Or Amane was considered a bestfriend though?
After searching on the school grounds for him, she went back inside. The sky is getting darker as few stars began to appear.
Y/n ran, turning her head left and right searching for Amane. While running she suddenly slipped hitting her cheek and hip at the hard tiled floor, her left shoe slipped out of her foot as it slid across the hallways.
Y/n's eyes were pricked with tears because of the pain. She was so desperate of finding Amane and ended up slipping because she didn't think about her surroundings.
She hissed in pain as she got up from the floor. Her left shoe was nowhere to be found. As she finally stood up she muttered to herself. "Who needs that shoe anyways, I need to find him."
'If I were Amane, where would I be?' Y/n asked to herself as she kept running.
'The meteor shower will come up in a few hours from now, and I remembered how Amane had brought it up many times before the festival.'
Y/n stopped as she catched her breath and think. And then she remembered something from Hanako.
Hanako likes to stargaze at the rooftop with Y/n. He's always at the rooftop whenever he has to think about his problems or just to look at the stars, if he can he would invite Y/n.
Her eyes widened in realization as a smile grew on her face. "That's it!" she announced.
And so she went to the last place she haven't checked yet.
The rooftop.
Y/n walked then ran as fast as her legs can go. As she finally reached the door to the rooftop, she twisted the knob and pushed the door open.
There she saw the Astronomy club members and some students happily interacting with each other. There are students who are checking at the telescopes for getting a close up look at the moon.
Y/n stepped foot at the rooftop as her eyes wandered for Amane's presence, he should be here right?
As much as she silently pleaded that Amane would be there just blending inside the crowd, he wasn't there.
Then realization strikes again.
Y/n looked closely at the rooftop's surroundings, she mentally facepalmed. 'You went to the wrong rooftop!' she scolded herself.
The girl sighed as she has to run to the other side just to get to the rooftop where Hanako mostly hangs out by himself. When she arrived infront of the door, she opened it as wide as she can.
Amane leaned against the railings looking above the night sky with many stars dotted across the scenery. Y/n panted because of all the running she had done, and finally she found what she was searching for.
"Amane!" Y/n cried.
The black haired boy slowly faced Y/n with a blush dusted on both of his cheeks. "...Y/n?" he called out.
Y/n stood there, her left foot felt cold because couldn't find the other shoe. Amane pointed it out. "Where's your other shoe?" he asked.
"It was lost." Y/n answered.
Y/n took a first step forward towards Amane, then a second step, and a third step. Just as she was about to get near him she tripped. 'Oh for the love of Aengdu!'
Amane flies forward to catch her by holding the sides of her arms. Y/n's hands landed on his chest. The two of them made eye contact with each other with a blush on their faces.
Y/n can hear her own heartbeat pounding inside her chest but she can also feel Amane's heartbeat beating so fast as if he recently just ran in a marathon.
Amane releases Y/n carefully so that she won't stumble and fall. The two of them were standing above the moon while staring at each other.
It was just like in the fake world, but this is way more better.
"Y/n..." Amane says.
"Amane..." said Y/n.
There was an awkward silence. It goes on for a long time——too long——and at the same time, they blurt. "I just wanna say——"
"You first." Amane tells her.
"No, you." Y/n says swatting her hands.
"No really, you should go first." Amane insisted.
Y/n sighed.
Amane slowly averted his gaze towards hers. "I never had a chance to apologize, so I'm sorry for yesterday." he said remembering the amorous session they did yesterday.
Y/n removed the scarf to reveal the red and purplish marks patched from her neck to her shoulder. "It's fine, I didn't try to stop you though." she said her voice was almost a whisper. "I kinda like it though..."
Amane flashed her a smile. "Then I'm glad."
Y/n smiled back at him. Just as she was about to turn around, Amane grabbed her hand. "I hope you don't mind but, can we watch the shooting stars here together?" he asked.
"I wouldn't mind it." Y/n smiled as she stood next to him.
The two of them watched the shining moon slowly rising as time passes and the stars, oh how beautiful they looked patched across the night sky.
At that moment it felt like it was a fleeting dream.
Then Y/n's eyes sparkled with mirth as shooting stars started to appear. They were racing across the sky with their white tails of glimmering light following behind them. "Amane-kun! Look the shooting stars!" she said. "Aren't they pretty?"
Amane looked at the shooting stars, then the moon, and finally at Y/n. "Yeah, they are really pretty." he said.
Y/n's face was beamed with happiness. "Then I'm glad you think so!" she said as she looked back to the night sky to watch the shooting stars.
Amane, who grew up loving the stars and the moon, started to realize that the girl he was standing next with is much more prettier than those.
"It felt so ethereal you know?" Amane says breaking the silence between them. "The two of us watching the night sky together."
"Y/n?"
"Amane-kun...?"
"I love you!" They both blurt out in the same time.
Everything just felt so fleeting right now, standing under the meteor shower and having these two confess their feelings. Y/n's lip quivers in a good way while Amane blushed.
The two of them faced each other once again. Y/n notices that Amane was slightly taller than her considering that when he was Hanako they were about the same height.
It felt really weird but all of these is probably not just a coincidence, since Hanako confessed to Y/n under the stars while Amane did the same.
Y/n grabbed his hand as she places it on her cheek. His hand felt warm that she almost slept on it. She felt tears forming from the corner of her eyes.
If the Amane she's standing infront of was once Hanako that she loved then she's glad. The only thing is that he had forgotten almost everything.
"Amane, do you still remember our promise?" Y/n asked, hopefully it will spark a memory from him.
Amane carressed her cheek using his thumb and smiled. "Hmm?"
'Maybe I'll just have to start over again. But it's fine, atleast I did my part of making him love me.'
Then Amane chuckled, his laughs were light and airy, making her feel butterflies inside of her stomach. "You mean the promise of being together by tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and forever?"
Y/n's eyes widened as she heard those words. "H-huh?" she said. "H-how did you——?"
A playful smile was plastered upon the boy's face. "Hanako-kun?" she asked. "B-But your memories...!"
"Technically I was Hanako." Amane cleared things out. "But in this scenario I'm still Amane, but I don't know how my memories of you started to come back."
Tears started to stream down on her face. "I thought you had forgotten everything. You sacrificed your memories and yourself to extend my life?"
Amane wiped her tears as he smiled fondly at her. "How could I forget the girl who summoned me because she was ghosted?"
"Amane-kun..." Y/n cried even more making him teared up while looking at her.
"Y/n..." Amane hiccuped as he started to cry as well, then he smiled blithely. "I-I got my memories back..."
Amane pulled her into a hug as Y/n cried on to his chest. He wrapped his arms around her ever so tightly as if he doesn't want to let her go.
And so they cried together in happiness of finally getting the love back that was once lost.
From the day the universe was formed
Past infinite words
Probably in our past lives and next lives
We'll be together forever
