A year has passed, Y/n was supposed to die by jumping off from the window at the Astronomy club during graduation.

      But it never happened.

Hanako sacrificed his memories and gave up his position as a wonder just for Y/n to live longer so she could reach her dreams.

She lost two people who are important to her life. It felt unfair and bitter. But Hanako has a reason for doing it.

Hanako loves Y/n so much and can't afford for her to die so easily.

They were soulmates, they promised to be together by tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and forever. She could never endure the feeling of singularity lingering around her.

Her agonizing phantom pain is still the same even though his disappearance happened few weeks ago.

Y/n was in the Astronomy Club after the assembly. She stared at the window where she stays till overnight to look at the stars and moon.

Y/n smiled bitterly as walked towards it. Just as she was about to take off her shoes, someone called her. "Y/n-senpai!" Kou called her from afar, the tone of his voice doesn't sound good.

Y/n puts on her shoes immediately as Kou told her that Tsuchigomori-sensei will be needing her. "Sensei! She's here!"

Yashiro was there too. Y/n wondered why Tsuchigomori-sensei would need the three of them. Y/n looked at her teacher, he doesn't look good.

He would usually put a bored expression but he looked like he was holding back his emotions. "The reason why I brought you three today is that I'm here to bring an unfortunate news."

The atmosphere in the library felt tense and uncomfortable. Tsuchigomori clasped his hands together as he looked at Y/n. "Honorable No. 7 is gone."

Y/n's eyes widened. "W-what do you mean?" her voice trembled as she was about to cry.

"No. 7 sacrificed himself just to extend your life, L/n-san." Tsuchigomori answered.

Yashiro covered her mouth. Kou was still processing on what was happening. "B-But I-I promised Nii-chan...I would..." he said trying not to cry.

Y/n dropped on to her knees as one by one tears began to drop on the floor. She felt like someone took her soul by the news. "W-Why?" she mumbled. "W-Why did he do that?!" she yelled.

"That's not all." Tsuchigomori added. "I also have good news."

"No. 7 sacrificed his memories and gave up his position." he explained. "So that means he might come back but it would not be the same like before."

Yashiro hugged Y/n and rubbed circles behind her back. She was shaking and crying, she really loved Hanako, her soulmate.

When Y/n got home she dashed to her room not bothering to talk to her father or her mother. She locked herself and sobbed uncontrollably. "Hanako-kun, you promised." she cried while hugging her pillow. "You promised to be together by tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and forever."

"Why did you sacrifice yourself for my sake?" Y/n mumbled. "Have I lost myself or have I gained you?"

During those days mourning about Hanako's loss, Y/n cried herself to sleep, take sleepless nights often and even shutting away people from her life completely.

Her crystal like orbs have now lost their shine. They were now dull and out of energy. His loss really did change Y/n, just like Hina's loss did to her.

Y/n's parents noticed her change of appearance and suddenly became concerned about her, but Y/n tells them that she's fine then turns her back to her room.

Kou and Yashiro are also concerned about Y/n's state of singularity. The two of them would go to her house in hopes of coping Y/n with her newfound loss, but her mother tells them that Y/n doesn't want to see anyone at the moment.

Akane and Aoi once went to Y/n's house since they heard about her depression from Yashiro, but ended up empty handed.

Lemon also tried to go to Y/n's house since they share each others memes and was speculating why she isn't giving him any meme content.

Satou and Yokoo came along too. They remembered on how Y/n tutored them for a month and how kind she is.

Everyone was worried about Y/n, she doesn't notice it because she was always in her room, busy mourning for Hanako.

"I feel bad for Ghosted-senpai." Mitsuba sighed sadly while walking between Kou and Yashiro. "I'm not being sarcastic but I do feel bad."

Mitsuba must be the luckiest ones along with Hanako's sacrifice since his memories didn't wipe out and only removed his position as Wonder Number Three.

The three of them arrived at Y/n's place once again to try to have a conversation with her. Yashiro pushed the button to the gate as it rang. Kou and Mitsuba sighed as Y/n's mother was the one who got out of the house.

"I keep telling her that you guys are worried about her, but she didn't listen and never opened her bedroom." Mrs. L/n explained while sighing. "I'm truly sorry but Y/n is currently unavailable."

"Okay thank you for your time Mrs. L/n." Kou nodded slowly.

"Would you three like to come inside for a moment?" Mrs. L/n asked.

"I think Y/n-chan needed some space, we'll come back in another time." Yashiro smiled at her. The three of them left the gate empty handed.

Mrs. L/n went back inside. She walked upstairs to Y/n's room. "Sweetie." she called while softly knocking at her door.

To Mrs. L/n's surprise the door was unlocked. Y/n looked at her mom with her lifeless eyes. Her mochi cheeks were now stained with tears instead of a blush. Mrs. L/n covered her mouth as she looked at her daughter's state.

"What have I done?" she asked herself.

"Mom?" Y/n tilted her head. "What are you doing here?"

Mrs. L/n walked towards her and hugged her for the first time in sixteen years of her existence. Y/n's eyes watered but her lifeless eyes still remained.

"Y/n..." Her mom tightens the hug as tears started to stream down on her face.

Mrs. L/n pulled away as she grabbed the tissue box near Y/n's laptop and gave it to her daughter. Mrs. L/n sat next to her. "Y/n, it's time for me to look at you in the eye and be honest."

"I know you have problems weighing down on your shoulders and you refused to tell us about them." Mrs. L/n explained. "I want to help you, Y/n."

"Technically I'm still your mother and I deserve to know what's going on."

Y/n gave her a cold glare while wiping her tears. "You would never understand anyways, besides you wouldn't believe any of this crap."

"Not until you tell me what's going on, I'll do my best to understand you from now on." Mrs. L/n grabbed her hands. "Please Y/n, give me a chance for this."

Y/n gave out a shaky breath. Even if she refused to tell, her mom would still urge her until it gets annoying.

So she decided to tell everything about what happened to her. From Souho ghosting her to Hanako's sacrifice to extend her life.

Her chin trembled on every word she says, this is something that her Mother wouldn't believe because she doesn't look like the type to take interest in the supernaturals.

But of all reactions that her mom would have, she smiled ear to ear. "I believe in you, Y/n."

Y/n paused. "You're just saying that to make me feel better." she said.

"I knew the prophecy will still continue to you." Mrs. L/n began. "The prophecy started when your grandmother fell for an apparition."

"Wait?! You also fell for an apparition?!" Y/n asked her mom in disbelief. "No way!"

Mrs. L/n chuckled at her reaction. "I think it's about time I should tell you my part."

"When I was in my first year of highschool, I summoned an apparition in exchange for something from me."

"Who's the apparition? Do you go to Kamome too?" Y/n asked.

Mrs. L/n shook her head. "I wasn't even in this place when it happened."

"The apparition I summoned is." her mom paused for a dramatic effect. "Jin-san of the Library."

"They say that if you enter the library after school, there are chances that you and Jin-san would have a fateful encounter." Mrs. L/n smiled reminiscing her highschool days. "By choosing the same book on the bookshelf."

      "What was your wish?"

"I don't remember actually since it happened a long time ago." Mrs. L/n sighed. "Anyways, Jin-san and I became the best of friends until I found out about my short lifespan."

"He did the same thing what your Hanako did. Jin-san sacrificed himself just for me to keep on living." Mrs. L/n smiled sadly. "I handled the situation the same thing what you did."

"Oh my gosh finally I can tell the best part." Mrs. L/n giggled. "I remember where your grandmother tells me about this and I was crying my eyes out."

Y/n chuckled along with her then frowned. "What happened to Jin-san? Did you know his identity?"

Mrs. L/n has a glint of hope in her eyes and smiled. "Jin-san came back as a human a year after my supposedly death. But he has no memories of being a school apparition that time, let me tell you the two of us have a lot of misunderstandings."

"Do you want to know the good news?"

Y/n nodded vigorously. "I see, so I helped him recover some memories with me. Human Jin-san isn't really that different to Apparition Jin-san."

"Also Jin-san's real name is Hachirou L/n, I married him." Mrs. L/n proudly says as she showed her daughter her ring. "And I had you and Hina."

"Oh my god." Y/n covered her mouth to contain her happiness. Her mother's story gave her hope of seeing Hanako again but as a human.

"Even if the brain forgets, the heart still remembers." Mrs. L/n tells her. "His heart would still be beating for you, even if he forgets you."

"Try to make him fall for you again, like I did with your father." she winked.

"Did Dad ever find out that he was an apparition?" Y/n asked.

"I never brought it up." Mrs. L/n stood up from the bed as she dusted her pants. "Also, you guys aren't half apparitions. Jin-san became a human permanently so that make you a pure human."

Y/n stared at her mother as she left the room. Her heart felt light now that she had told her mom everything. Her mom gives her hope whenever she feels lost like this one.

"Y/n! Someone's at the door!" Mrs. L/n called.

      "Who?"

"His name is Souho Shirasagi, he wanted to talk to you!"
