"Yes," she answered before tearing her gaze away from him.

He felt a pang in his heart and he looked back and forth between the two. "You like him, don't you?"

Kiyomi's eyes widened in realisation and his words caused her to push him away. "You don't know what you're talking about, Haru. Now, hurry up and get ready. We're leaving in five minutes," she ordered and walked off.

He only recognised the look in her eyes because it was look he gave her. He knew that Kimimaro could make her happier. Happier than he ever could. And what he wanted most of all, was to see her happy. He wanted to see her smile. A mere ten year old and he already had the concept of love in his mind.

Over the course of a year and a half, thanks to Kimimaro's subtle advances and Haru's schemes they'd eventually came together.

To see her smile, it was all worth it.

He was her lifeline. She kept him sane.

But he could've never imagined, he would be hers too.
