SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO

"In five, four, three, two..."

"This is Jim Hellerman, reporting live for channel 2 news outside of the Capital West Bank at Main and Sixth"

"A group of heavily armed men stormed the bank not three hours ago and took an unknown number of hostages. "

Inside the vault, the alarm blaring, a man in a mask and hiding a gun yelled

"Hey, get them behind the counter"  he yelled and a little Allison came skipping in, Eden right beside her.

"Hey get back with the others" the bald man said pointing his gun at the group of hostages. Allison stood on her toes, her hands behind her back as Eden looked over the bank.

"I heard a rumor"

"What? What did you say?" He asked

"I heard a rumor that you shot your friend in the foot" the man backs up with glazed eyes and turned to his friend

"Hey dude, what the hell" his friend says only to be shot twice and the hostages scream

"We just heard shots from inside the bank , it's uncertain if any hostages have been harmed in that."

"Up there" someone shouts and right when they do Luther comes crashing into the bank landing on the biggest guy and throwing him out of the bank

"Looks like one of the armed robbers has been thrown from the bank."

"Guns are for sissies. Real men throw knives" Diego says running out and throwing two knifes hitting a man

"I've been in many hostage situations like this, and it can escalate very quickly."

"Get back you freaks!" The man says on the counter pouting his gun at the children that don't seem frightened

Eden giggles at the man thinking he was silly.

"Hey, be careful up there, buddy." Diego teases

"Get back now!"

"Yeah wouldn't want you to get hurt" Eden innocently says smiling widely at the man who points his gun at her, ready to pull the trigger

"Or what?" Five suddenly appears, the gun now on him as he sat criss cross on the counter, smiling at the man. The man fires only for Five to spacial jump right behind him with his arms crossed. Eden quickly makes the gun disappear and replace it with a stapler. The man goes to shoot only to be holding a stapler thanks to Eden and Five smirks.

"Ooh! That's one badass stapler!" Five teases with a smirk and Eden giggles making Fives smirk widen. Five quickly slams the stapler into the mans head causing him to fall and become unconscious.

"Although there's been no activity for a few minutes, we're gonna stay live on location to make sure we don't miss anything"

"Do I really have to do this?" Ben asks in a shaky voice, clearly nervous and Eden sends him a warm smile. Five spacial jumps next to her, quickly wrapping his arm around her.

"Come on Ben. There's more guys in the vault." Luther says

"I didn't sign up for this" Ben sighs sadly

"It'll be okay Benny! And right when you get out I promise to make you my special brownies when we get home!" Eden says trying to cheer Ben up and Bens face brightens

"Really?" He asks and Eden smiles

"Yeah I promise!" Eden promise and Ben sighs

"Alright I'll do it" he says and walks inside the vault

"Now we see the hostages. They—they're free, they're scared, clearly, but they do seem to be unharmed."

The children watch as tentacles throw people onto the glass causing blood to splatter across it. Terrified screams erupt from behind the glass of the vault and Eden smiles sadly, knowing Ben doesn't like doing this. Fives arm stayed wrapped around her waist as they watch Ben finish the people in the bank. After a few seconds Ben opens the door completely soaked in blood and shaking like a puppy. Eden pouts and walks over to Ben helping clean the blood off of him.

"Can we go home now?" He shakily asks

"People are coming out now. It's not the armed robbers. These are young schools children in uniforms with masks on."

Eden walks out hopping down the stairs as she smiles widely at the cameras, five right beside her smirking.

"Why can't I play with the others?" Vanya asks up on the rooftop

"We've been through this before, number seven. I'm afraid there's nothing special about you." Reginald rudely says and Vanya looks down sadly

"Oh"

After getting put in coats and scarfs to keep them warm, Reginald stood proudly in front of them.

"Our world is changing, has changed. There are some among us gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary. I have adopted seven such children, I give you the inaugural class of the umbrella academy" Reginald says and Five smiles smugly at the cameras

"Mr. Hargeeves! Mr. Hargreeves. Channel 9 news. What happened to their parents?" The reporter asks

"They were suitably compensated"  Eden snorts beside Five who softly pinches her in the side.

"Are you concerned about the welfare of the children?" Another asks

"Of course. As I am for the fate of the world. "

Cameras were flashing and people kept shouting at them.

Eden opened the door to her room and smiles at the familiarity. The walls green with all kind of photos and paintings hanging on them. There was a large bookcase in the corner filled with all kind of fantasy books and some non-fiction ones. Edens eyes glance at the framed photo and before she could grab it, a familiar  tune started to play loudly throughout the house. Eden closed her eyes and smiled widely at the familiar song, she let her hips sway and her arm to go up in the air as she danced to the music.

The sun shined through her open window hitting the diamond ring that sat on her finger. Eden's grin suddenly faltered when she feels the whole house shake, the sky suddenly darkening and thunder booming outside. A bright blue light shined through the window and Eden quickly exits her room and goes downstairs meeting her siblings who stood in front of a blue portal like thing. Eden was quickly put behind Diego with Klaus who gripped onto his baby sister protectively.

"What is it?" Vanya yells over the wind

"Don't get to close!" Allison yells to everyone

"Yeah, no shit!" Diego sarcastically replies

"Looks like some sort of temporal anomaly. Either that or a miniature black hole. One of the two." Luther yells and Eden could feel butterflies in her stomach, she knew that color of blue. It was the only blue she memorized, it was Five.

"Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan" Diego bites back and Eden reaches her arm over and slaps Diego on the arm. He loved getting Luther riled up ever since they were children.

Klaus comes running out of the house, holding a fire extinguisher. She hadn't even noticed he left until now and watched in amusement as he ran between them.

"Out of the way!" Klaus yells spraying the portal before throwing the extinguisher into the portal

"What is that gonna do?" Allison asks and Klaus shrugs

"I don't know. Do you have a better idea?" Klaus says lifting his hands up

"It's the thought that counts Santa!" Eden yells and Klaus smiles throwing his sister two thumbs up

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Everybody get behind me" Luther says pushing everyone behind him as Diego steps up putting his arms out

"Yeah, everyone get behind us" Diego says puffing his chest out a little bit causing Eden to grin at her brother

"I vote for running, c'mon!" Klaus yells going to run off only to be held by Eden who shook her head at her brother

Eden watched as a older man was coming through the portal before he started to turn into a younger boy. The man well now a boy was screaming and reaching for them and they all watch as someone falls to the ground in a heap of oversized clothes. The thunder fades and the sky turns back to its bright self as the Hargreeve children walk closer to the person.

Eden held her breath and she could feel herself become dizzy when a familiar boy stood up looking slightly confused. Klaus gripped his sisters hand as Allison glanced behind her to check if her sister was alright. Eden quickly took a quick breath because if she didn't she was sure she would faint, she wasn't even sure if he was actually real.

Was she dreaming?

Eden discreetly pinched herself and winces when she realizes she was not dreaming and Five was actually standing in front of her. Eden purses her lips knowing that this Five wasn't the Five she knew before, he was different and she could feel it.

"Does anyone else see little number five, or is that just me?" Klaus asks, gripping his sisters hand as Vanya gives Eden a reassuring smile

Five looks down at himself and it was as if he had just realized something.

"Shit"
