Third Person:
After that day, Luke and Hazel started being the cutest couple. Them walking home after school, going to the park every other weekend, school dances, eating lunch, going to family parties, made them fall so hard for each other. Luke's goofiness actually won her heart. But also he won her over by his curly hair. But dont tell him that. He likes to believe it was his charm. They started dating the summer of Sophomore year, they're just so prefect. Hazel's father liked Luke, he was a gentleman, always treated Hazel like a queen she deserves to be.
Junior year, the hardest year of all, the Santos had lost their grandparents. Hazel took it the hardest since they understood her more than anyone. Both grandparents helped raise her when she was a baby. She still remembers the stories her grandmother would tell when she was a little girl in Cuba. Their taste in music helped keep the culture alive. Same year was which colleges are you planning to go to, what do you really want to be. Hazel actually took the interest of becoming an FBI agent, mostly in the BAU, she always like the idea of saving people, catching bad guys, but her mother didn't like the idea.
It was her graduation party, she thought it would be nice to invite her mother, you know, to see her daughter graduate, and meet her boyfriend for the first time. The party was fun, all her family came out and celebrate. Once her mom came, Hazel was so happy.
"Ma!" She smiled as she ran to her arms.
"Congratulations mija." She handed her a present.
"Mom, i want you to meet Luke. My boyfriend." Luke was happy to see her mother.
"Its nice to meet you Luke."
"Likewise, Hazel tells me so much about you." They sat down, chatted for a while.
"So you know where you are going to school?" She asks Luke.
"Im going into the army. A lot of benefits, helps my family and maybe Hazel and I can move out of here and live near her school." Martiza's face turned upside down.
"Army?" She scuffs. Hazel eyes fell.
"Yeah." Hazel joins. "I didn't want him to go, but its up to him. And I'll love him no matter what."
"And you said you want to be in field, BAU?" Hazel nods. Martiza licks her lips. Here we go.They had fought about how dangerous the job can be, that she wasn't going allow her to go down that path. Martiza eventually blamed Luke for putting that idea in Hazel's mind since he wanted to join the army. After the party, months later, Martiza never liked Luke, she always had thought that he had put those thoughts in her head about joining the BAU, she didn't even let Hazel date in the first place, school first and then a relationship. Haze was torn, she didn't know what to do, make her mother happy or follow her own path.
Senior year came in a blink of an eye. It was time to choose a college, she decided to go out of the state, studying criminal justice. She decided to go to Northeastern University on a full ride for track.
"And thats the last of it." Luke puts down the box of clothes Hazel had into her dorm room.
"Thank you amor." She kisses him. Luke wraps his arms around Hazel and swayed.
"You know, i can just come home early and come live here. Under your bed. Your roommate will never know im here."
"Ah yes, knowing you? Quiet? Never." She kisses his cheek.
"Very funny. You know ill be with you no matter what right?"
"Thats why I love you."
"And thats why I got you this." He shows her a ring. It was a promise ring. "I promise to be with you till the day I die." Since that day, she never took it off. It was too special. Hazel wanted to graduate early, which she did. Still together, Luke had joined the army, but came home early since he got shot. Damn that day, Hazel dropped all her stuff and went to Lukes home. She cried so hard that day, she actually thought she lost him. Luke promised her that nothing like that would ever happen again. After graduating,Hazel applied to the FBI academy. She got accepted and together, they moved to Virginia to stay close. It was a dream come true, the both high school sweethearts enjoyed their lives together, they even bought their beautiful dream home, hoping that their future will begin right there.
When studying in the academy, a old friend of her fathers, David Rossi, recommend her to Aaron Hotchner. Rossi saw a lot of potential in Hazel. Things were going as planned, She had an interview with SSA Aaron Hotchner in a few weeks, and she had to tell everyone. First her brother and sister, who was finally happy as she followed her dreams, she then called her father who was even more excited than her, and then her mother, who wasn't as thrilled.
"Hey ma! Guess what? I have an interview in a few weeks!" She shierks through the phone.
"For what?"
"You know David Rossi, dads friend, he actually recommended me for the BAU." There was a sigh on the other end of the phone. Hazels heart started to shatter. Martiza swore to her saying that she will get hurt, saying if she got the job, she had no home with her, making Hazel feel bad.
Luke was later discharged from the army, and joined the FBI and worked for several different divisions before being assigned to its Fugitive Task Force, where he became responsible for capturing fugitives on the run. He was happy where he was but that meant leaving Hazel behind for weeks, even months, but they still made it work. She was happy for him and he was happy for her.
Hazel had woken up early for the interview. She was too excited that her dream is coming true. She had dress professionally, sliding her heels and walking downstairs to see Luke making coffee.
"You gotta relax. You got this." He kisses her, calming her down.
"I just hope I get it, you know?"
"And you will. Go knock them dead." They both grabbed their mugs and headed to the door, leaving in their cars for work. When entering the building, everything hit her. It was actually happening. She went to the sixth floor, asking for Aaron Hotchner. A man walked her to his office and heard the man, to let her in. Morgan, Garcia and JJ were standing, looking at the young agent walking into Hotchs office.
"I did some research on her." Gracia said as she sipped on her tea.
"You know you can't stalk on every single person that comes in for an interview, baby girl." Derek laughs, still looking.
"Her name is Hazel Santos, graduated from Northeastern University, full ride for track, best known for sprints, she is very well trained in snipers, spent three years training. Her parents Martiza and Diego are cuban and separated, she moved to her dads to the Bronx from Chicago when she was 15, and has a very cute younger brother named Gerardo who lives here in Virginia, working on a internship, medical, very hot."
"Control yourself."
"Oh im not done! She has a step mother named Paula and step-sister named Andrea, and surprisingly, I can't find if she has a boyfriend, not even a husband."
"I don't believe it, young, and that pretty, she has to have at least an ex." JJ points as she sat on the desk.
"My point exactly." Gracia shakes her head. "Shes so pretty, so innocent, how can she work here, with all the blood, violence and the bad guys out there."
"Whos that?" Spencer Reid announced as he walked in. Everyone had turned around, The Doctor joined in.
"Hazel Santos, maybe she's joining us." Morgan tells him. Turning to the two agents in the office, talking about the interview. Gideon comes by, watching. He was profiling the women.
"She has a ring, not an engagement ring, its old, probably high school lover. She plays with a lot, making it lose, shes nervous." Derek rolled his eyes. Penelope was getting intrigued. "Posture is not a common thing for her, shes more chill, relax, she wants to seem shes right for the job, making her seem shes interested." He continued to go on. "Anger is something she struggles with because the way she clenches her jaw."
"Okay, that's enough." Derek stopped him, he didn't want to hear more. They all looked at the women, probably the sweetest women they'll love to know.
"You are very qualified. I mean outstanding. Rossi wasn't wrong." Hazel lets out a laugh. "Your supervisor speaks very highly about you. You are highly trained with snipers, which can be handy in situations. But what im very concerned is about your anger, it says here that you do go to anger management classes once a month. You do know that in the field, that can be a problem."
"Yes, I know that is a problem but I do know how to control it when it comes to different situations. It hasn't been a problem since i was a kid, it wont be a problem, that I can promise you." Aaron knew that she will be a good fit in the team.
"Also it says here that your boyfriend works in the Task Force." He looks at the paper. "Luke Alvez."
"Yeah. It would mean a lot if we don't mention him, due to going undercover and we both agreed that its the only way that we keep him as a secret. I dont want you to think that im embarrassed of him or anything." I laughed off.
"It wont be a problem for me. I totally understand." He closed the file, looking at Hazel. "I think you'll be a valuable asset to the team." Hazel was surprised, shocked.
"Wow, really?" She stutters. "Thats it? No like test answers, like whats your weaknesses and strengths?" They both laughed.
"Like I said, you'll make a great fit." The agents stood up and shook hands.
"Thank you so much!" Aaron, from his office, pointed at each agent, standing and looking at you. They both walked out of the office so they can introduce Hazel to the team.
"Everyone this-"
"Garcia told us already, Im Jennifer Jareau, but you can call me JJ." She stood up and shook Hazel's hand.
"Nice to meet you. Let me see if I got this." Hazel clicks her tongue. "JJ, Derek Morgan, Dr. Spencer Reid, Jason Gideon, and you must be Penelope Garcia." Garcia smiled.
"Wait! She got the job!" Aaron nodded. "You are so tiny!" Penelope hugs her tight. "You are too precious!"
"Aww thank you." Hazel laughs. "Its really nice to meet you all, really."
"We're glad to have you on the team." Reid said. Hazel loved her colleagues. They are too nice, she was trying to get to know Gideon but he wont budge and she absolutely loved Penelope. She later called Rossi to thank him.
"So?" Luke asks as he heard Hazel open the front door to the lovely home they shared. All she did was run into his arms. "You did it! im so happy for you!"
"I love you so much! I couldn't done it without you by my side." She kisses her longtime boyfriend.
"SSA Hazel Santos. I like it." He takes a minute to capture the features of his love of his life. He was honestly, so happy for her. He stood by her side all this time, making sure she won't let her dream go. "I love you more." He walks to the kitchen and pulls out her favorite wine. "We should celebrate."
"That we should." Some Mark Anthony music played in the background, pouring wine, smiling, on the couch.
"To becoming a profiler." They clinked glasses.
"Im happy that we are here."
"Im happy that we are here, together. Making it work." Luke leans in and kisses Hazel. Hazel giggles as he kisses her down to her neck. They placed the glasses on the table. "Have I ever told you how much I love you?"
"Yes, everyday." Hazel wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down.
"Im not going to stop then." They pulled in for a passionate kiss. "We should celebrate in a different way."
"That will be?" Luke picks Hazel up bridal style.
"Ill give you a hint. You, me, bedroom." Hazel laughs as Luke ran upstairs to their shared room.
